Pit bulls were bred to fight bulls and bears, then when that was outlawed, people started making them fight other dogs. A pit bull must be made to be aggressive, they aren't inherently that way. Pit bulls grow very attached to their people and will defend them if need be. It's why they have been called nanny dogs in the past. I have one, and he is protective of me, but he's never attacked anyone. He stands between me and the door when a stranger comes by, if I am sitting outside alone, he lays at the door and watches me, if my husband isn't home, he is near me all the time. He will put himself between me and other strange animals. I was in an abuaive relationship and my ex slapped me, my dog jumped between me and my ex, started growling and barking at him, and kept pushing me backwards away from my ex. So do I believe that my dog would defend me by attacking someone/thing that was attacking me? Yes. I don't think he would attack another dog just for barking at me, but if the dog lunged at me and attached me, he would fight back to protect me.
Boxer or Pitbull question?
I asked a question earlier today concerning who was more stronger a boxer or a pit bull and the answers I received are all stupid. One person actually said it shouldn't matter to me. Why shouldn't it matter? Do I have the right to ask a question or not? Second Pitbulls are not stronger than Boxers nor are Boxers stronger than Pitbulls it actually depend on the dog. #3rd The jaws of a Boxer are stronger than a Pitbull. Both dogs are equally built as far as muscle, but the Pitbull is more insane. Boxers and Pitbulls are not the same mentally. Boxers are natural lovers without the bite or the bark but the reason why is because they are fearless. I have breeded both Pitbulls and Boxers with my Father for over 15 years and I will tell you this, the Boxer is the best out of the two. Why do you think they cost so much more? And before I forget, Bull dogs jaws are more stronger than any other dog but may go hand and hand with the bull mastiff
If i get a Pitbull temperment question?
If i get a pitbul puppy, and i socilize it around my friendly dogs, and other peoples friendly dogs, and keep it away from mean dogs and let it get to know lots of people; and get it to the trainer, is there still a chance for dog aggression..? I adore this breed, and i love the personality and would like a playmate for my doberman husky mix, and i really want to adopt a pup, but i don't know how to be sure they'll be friendly with other dogs. My huskey-dobi mix is 6-going-on-1. I got him when he was four, and he never has settled down. We just moved into a new town, before he used to spend the day with the neighbors and got to play all day with their 4 dogs. I thought a pit would be high energy enough to give him a playbuddy he could run around with once they're a bit older. My other dog is a GD poodle mix, and the vet guessed that he'd be around 10 years old now. He isn't really up to playing with anyone for very long these days.

Bulldog vs. pitbull?
I have an American Bull Dog and it seems he has no tolerance of pain. Pits look so scary though and have really strong jaw muscles. They are also very similar in genes. However its not the dog thats in the fight, its the heart thats in the dog. Did I mention that my bull dog loves sitting in my lap also...please don't fight dogs for fun. They only reason mine fights is when I take him on walks and he protects me. I suggest you not try to make them fight these dogs are loving animals and making them fight makes them mean.
