Questions About The Australian Army Reserve

Do australian army reserves still need there head shaved?

Haircut yes head shave no

You will need to have a short haircut especially for your recruit course

Australian Army Reserves?

When you march out of Kapooka, you can grow your hair longer, whether you're in the ARA or ARES. The standards for the whole Defence Force are the same, whether you're full time, part time, Army, Navy or Air Force.

Your hair can't grow to the stage where it touches your ears, neck or eyes... you also cannot shave your head completely. Those are some of the official guidelines, but it basically comes down to common sense - just get a typical neat, short civilian cut. I usually just wait until my Bombardier says "You're going to have a hair cut by the next parade night, aren't you Gunner?"

Can i join the australian army reserve with athsma or with braces?

Braces shouldn't prevent you from joining, but it depends on the nature of your asthma. You won't be allowed to sign up if it has the potential to endanger you or others in a military situation. Although if you've done the fitness program you should be fine.

Australian army psych test?

It's not really going to matter what you say, unless you really do have something (mentally/psychotically) to worry about. For the most part they just want to know if you're going to go skitzo on everyone. You don't need to say anything like dying for the country or anything like that either. It's not a test anyway, just an interview to get an idea of who you are.

Does Australian Army reserves give you extra atar points for HSC?

This bog cleaner guy has best answers fort military questions but in most cases has been massively incorrect. No it does not give you extra ATAR points but you can add it into your uni application once you're qualified. Being a fully qualified Infantry Soldier at Private rank is equivalent to a Cert II in Government. After you complete promotion courses and obtain rank you will be qualified at a Cert III level up to Corporal. SGT and beyond obtains further certificates and diploma's depending on the Corps you select to join. Anything else but Infantry and Engineers and you may as well not call yourself a soldier!

Bog GFYS!

You're a lid! You tell war stories of recruit training. You know nothing if you think that is not how they're abbreviated.

You have to be a 2IC before you're a section commander. Are you still sitting at Watsonia doing your IET course? If so I've got a mate down there on a course, might get him to have some words with you.

What are the requirements for the Australian Army?

While requirements vary depending on the individual applicant, a baseline level of fitness dependent on age and gender standards (excluding later, gender neutral role specific fitness tests), a baseline education level suitable for the given role, physical and mental health as examined by healthcare professionals, Australian citizenship, and the ability to learn new information are required for recruits into the Australian Army. A minimum level of fitness, marksmanship, physical and dental health, availability for service and proficiencies in employment roles are required throughout an Army career. More advanced requirements based on role are present for Army personnel who are deployed. For more info visit Find Jobs in the Army

What is it like to join the Australian Army?

I did a gap year in the RAA for a year so I'll give you my brief experiences that i recall. If you like a physical and emotional challange then the army is perfect for you. From the first day you get to basic your whole world is turned upside down and inside out which for me at 17 was definitely not a bad thing, you quickly learn on that day that things such as talking and even moving are not a right but a privilege here haha. Be prepared for a lot of yelling being told how worthless you are here and more yelling as well as probably not having a bowel movement for at least a week due to the shock. The whole first few months is basically breaking any “civy” traits you have to build you all back up into the best team of soldiers you can be.Over all the “staff” arent really all that bad though and a lot of them become quite friendly towards the end. You'll survive on good moral and banter through basic and everyones favorite food “banjos”Everyone hates the “pussers” although i dont know why since were all working together in the end. After basic comes your IETS and a hell of a lot more freedom as long as your passing everything, you'll also find that once here you have a looot of money saved as you havent been able to spend much enjoy your down time at the “boozer” or on leave.Over all the army is great either long or short term great job security great people and an awesome place to grow as a person.
