Nexplanon VS. Implanon birthcontrol?

Hi,

You will not be offered between the two unless the doctors/clinic that you go to has a back stock of implanon, Nexplanon has replaced implanon as it is much more user friendly.

Generally before an implant will be given you will be asked to take the pill version (progestrogen only ) aka the mini pill to see if you are compatible with the hormones as the normal pill is combined (progestrogen & eastrogen)

i have very recently had the nexplanon fited and have had no side effects other than a small itch occassionally (other than the initial bruising)

as your quite young you may find like i did that progestrogen makes u crazy with mood swings etc but i was 18 when i tried it and im now 22 and am getting along charmingly with it.

if you feel you can control and remember to take you pills then taking the combined pill may be fine for you if the implant/ mini pill isnt,

when you go to your doctors/clinic they will sit and discuss all of your options with you and will answer all questions no matter how big or small

if you like in the UK female contraception via your doctors/clinic is free. im not sure about else where,

the plus side of the implant is that it lasts 3 years, you dont have to remember to take pills all thetime and its very discreet

just remember its like all contraceptives its not 100% and it wont protect you from and Infectiosn only condoms will do that!

also when going to the doctors/ clinic no matter how embareesing it may be always be 100 percent honest with them when they ask you questions as it is the only way to get the best advice for yourself

good luck and i hope this helps xx

Trouble with Nexplanon implant?

About six months ago I got the nexplanon implant. I thought it was super convenient and the first month was great, no bleeding and my period was fine when i did get it. After about 4 months Ive been getting week long periods about every two weeks. The appeal of not having to take a pill everyday has worn off. Will this balance out with a little more time? Is there anything I can do to help it?

Implanon and Nexplanon?

I've had 3 Implanons. It did change me a bit apparently. I say that because I did not notice but my friends did. I hated my body odor but really didn't need another child. I still had periods but they went from regular to random and now I hate the scars on my arm from them. Have you looked into an IUD? I would choose one of them over an inplant as they last longer. Good luck!

Nexplanon implant and bleeding?

i got the implant at 6 weeks pp and now my son is almost 4 weeks. the first 2 weeks were okay but after that ive bled constantly for the past like 3 months. and i get stomach pains. in my upper stomach and lower stomach sometimes. I have lost my medicaid afer having my son because i apparently didnt get the paperwork to renew my application again so i have to wait a minimum of a month from now to get even back on to get checked out if i get re approved that is. so i was wondering if anyone else had experiance with this i know it can make you bleed alot but this is rediculous! any suggestions? or experiance comments?

Is the Nexplanon implant a good birth control? My doctor says this birth control doesn’t give you symptoms like the pills. This implant goes into the skin of your arm. Let me know what you think of it if you have this implant. I’m 17.

Just reading about this particular drug. Lots of warnings for those who are overweight, have deep vein thrombosis, suffer migraines, suffer depression…it's a long list! That aside, if the dr. clears you, great. But it's the doc's call and your personal comfort with this plan. If you really don't know, ask all of your questions so that you've covered the bases. Just be fully informed.

Could i be pregnant on nexplanon?

i’ve had the nexplanon implant for about a year and i love it! before i got it i used the pill and condoms. i’ve been told that the implant is super effective and that many people don’t use condoms if they have it. i still use condoms just for the peace of mind, but tonight i had sex and noticed that after we finished some semen had leaked out of the base of the condom. should i be worried about getting pregnant?

Will my contraceptive implant (nexplanon) affect metal detectors at the airport?

My sister-in-law has the implant and she goes abroad all the time - she has never mentioned any problems at the airport through having that in her arm. If anything does happen, you just state that you have the implant. But I can't see that there would be any problems with this.
