Can you get a prescription medication if you have "mild" ADD?

Mild or strong. If you have ADHD, you have ADHD. And you deserve access to treatment if you feel it could help you improve your functioning.Dr. Thomas E. Brown is very emphatic about it. He's done research into people with ADHD who are also high IQ.  He makes the point that these folks are often operating far below their capabilities, simply because they didn't flunk out of school.I have "mild" vision impairment. I shouldn't have to be walking into walls before an optometrist fits me with corrective lenses. Don't feel guilty about it. Don't feel like you're "taking advantage." You should be able to do more than "function." And if ADHD is holding you back, take care of it.Good luck!g

Can an online doctor prescribe me medication?

ADHD medications are highly regulated by state and federal laws (many are level II controlled substances) due to their potential for dependency and abuse. If you need to establish your care with a new physician, you will most likely need to have a face-to-face meeting for treatment or adjustment of your medications. To minimize the time away from work, you can try to ask for the first appointment of the day or the first appointment after lunch.

Can psychologist's prescribe medication?

It will depend on which country and even which state within that country your psychologist operates within. I can tell you that currently they can not in Australia. However that is under review due to an apparent shortage of psychiatrists. At least that is what I have been told by a relevant faculty academic.

be safe, be sage

Can doctors prescribe themselves medication? ?

Yes, we can, and we do if it's something that won't raise any eyebrows, like antibiotics or skin cream. No physician should prescribe any controlled substance for themselves or family members. even if it's perfectly legitimate, it could appear otherwise.

If we need drugs like that, we have our physicians prescribe them for us.

For most medications, that's the best bet. It's better to have an impartial physician do the prescribing for you.

Do neurologists/neurosurgeons prescribe medications to their patients or..?

Both Neurologist, and Neurosurgeons prescribe medications. Neurologist treat a multitude of neurological problem including things like migraine headaches. Neurosurgeons perform operations of the neurologic system. Including things like herniated disc's to brain surgery. However, a neurosurgeon can only prescribe medication while treating you before and after surgery. If your pain persist, then the neurosurgeon would refer you to a pain specialist.

Hope this helps.

I have a question about aniexty medication, and the hassel one has to endure to get it prescribed?

I have a prescription for xanax, but it's only half a mg, 60 a month. This doesn't seem like much to me.

I went to another clinic, and they knew that I had seen another doctor, and told me what medication I'm on.

The nurse practitioner prescribed fiorcet for my tension headaches, but said to wait until next month to prescribe xanax. She now has given me some kind of a u/a to test for drugs. She has now changed her tune a lot, she even regrets having given me fiorcet. It's very unclear if I will get my xanax. I had asked for an increase in dosage, and I think that rattled the nurses cage.

If I can't get my xanax, should I ask for klonapins? She tried the old buspar trick, but I had already said I was allergic to it. She also gave me hydrozine, which does nothing but make me sleep.

Can I get the crumb 1/2 mg xanax from the original doctor? Should I stick with the nurse practitioner? She did increase my ultram for me, but I had to beg her not to give me ultracet instead. She also asked me if I've tried scallacton, which is a placebo.

I have anxiety, back pain and tension headaches. These are all medications that can help some. I'm not out purchasing illegal drugs. Why do I have to beg for a tiny amount of help, and be called a liar and accused of being a druggie, and have to be tested for drugs?

If a doctor prescribed me medication is it okay to ask a bunch of question about the effects?

The better way to answer is .. “ To ask a question is your right and to explain a medication id Doctor’s responsibility”However, as per the research of BMJ Open “Doctors spent around 2 – 5 minutes with every patient in India and less than 2 minutes in many countries while countries like US having this ratio around 20 minutes.”So it is very difficult for doctor to answer each and every questions but at least they must explain some basics of medication and actually it helps in patient compliance. Now a days, even you can get a knowledge of the medication online with medical information website like medisease, webmd and many more. but such websites are only for supplement, not substitute to the judgment of healthcare professionals. so always consult a doctor before come to any judgement via online sources.
