Quick Health Question

Quick question about health insurance?

Hi. I am 19.
I am looking to get off my mom health insurance and get my own. I am looking at BlueCross Shield. I am needing surgery on my knee for patellar subluxation. My moms insurance at the moment is not going to cover it, at all. The Dr. is trying to get her insurance to cover it.
I am thinking if I get off of her insurance, it will be a relief for myself and for her so at least some of the surgery is paid for. Also, I went into the ER last night & I am still responsible for a $500 payment after insurance. That's ridiculous amount in my opinion. I think her insurance is pure trash. So I would like to get my own if that's possible. But I am not quite sure what the best option is here.
So I guess I am asking what I should do.
Please no hate comments, don't have time for ignorance.

Quick easy Math question, urgent!?

Abigail Simon has a health insurance plan with a $200 deductible.
The plan covers 75 percent of her hospital charges. Abigail's recent health care costs include $250 in co-payments and a hospital bill of $12,300. What amount did she pay?

Do I need to add the bill and co payments and then multiply by percent, OR do I need to multiply the percentage of just the bill and then add the co payment?

12300-200 =12100 iis the hospital minus the deductible

12100*75 is what insurance paid

subtract this from 12300, which is her hospital portion

then add the 200 and 250 and you;ll have the total she paid

Quick Question in Math! Thanks. :)?

C(m) = 200+15m
C(m)=100+20m
Set the costs equal and solve for m.
200 +15m = 100+20m
200-100=20m-15m (Get like terms on the same side.)
100=5m
m=20
Now, plug that value for m into either of the equations and solve for C(20).
C(m) = 100+20m
C(20) = 100+20(20)
=100 +400
=$500
So, the point of intersection is (20, 500).

b) After how many months are the costs the same?
We already found that in the problem above. It’s 20 months.

c) If you joined a club for only a year, which club would be less expensive?
Plug 12 (1 year = 12 moths) into each equation and see which one produces the smallest cost.
C(m) = 100+20m
C(12) = 100+20(12)
=100 +240
=$340

C(m) = 200+15m
C(12) = 200+15(12)
=200 +180
=$380
So, Champion Health Club whose cost is C(m) = 100+20m is cheaper.

Hope this helps.

What is the best way/website where I can ask a quick question to a medical professional? I have several small questions about my health.

There are some website names I can suggest to you that provide free answers to health questions. These are given below.Online Doctor | Ask A Doctor Online | Lybrate ( you have to register here. Answers will be provided by the specific doctor chosen by you as listed on the website.)Personal Health Care - Share Your Experience ( you need not register here. Answers will be provided either by the website working team after consulting its in house medical panel or by doctors visiting the website as bloggers.)

Do you have quick and easy access to all of your electronic health records?

Some do. I’m in the privileged but weird position that I have better access to my patients’ records than I do to my own—and if the institution where I work thinks that my access to my own records is ‘inappropriate’, then I may be censured, or worse. ‘Inappropriate’ can be as simple as looking—at the same information ‘in house’ that I have access to via the portal that my general practitioner provides for me. It’s complex and not entirely sane. And I live in a country where medicine is generally considered to be highly computerised. Some lucky people now do have good access, particularly if they have one of the major EHRs, like Epic. But there are a few teensy little issues…A huge problem is interoperability. You are almost guaranteed that most of the more subtle details of your health record cannot be ported reliably to another EHR.There are other problems too. Even with access to your list of treatment and conditions, they may not be married up. You may not be able to answer a question as simple as “Why is this drug being given?”Chances are, there will be little or nothing that says how sure your doctor is that the condition is actually there, and why they thought you have this condition. This is pretty important, as we doctors make errors. Lots of errors. It’s good to check. On a related theme, the internal coding of your health problems may be extremely obscure. Who knows how reliable this is, when the source code is complex, hidden, and written in a language like ‘MUMPS’?For the above reasons—and several more— ‘quick and easy’ access may not mean reliable access, trustworthy data, comprehensive data, or indeed bullet-proof security. As I said, it’s all rather weird—almost wherever you look.My 2c, Jo.

What is the best website to ask health-related questions?

A lot many suggestions have been put up and I would agree with most of them. But then as has been mentioned in a previous answer that health related can be a wide spectrum. You might want to know that what would be the best diet for you if you want to lose weight and you will get a lot of information about that on the internet. But what if you add a small but crucial footnote saying that you are allergic to gluten, you might be in a fix!Hence, the need for personalized advice where one can consult a Doctor directly and present all information that is needed to get advice tailor made for you.You can try Visit - Free chat with a doctor. They let you text a Doctor for free to get instant replies and the service is very efficient. They also have a ‘care team’ of specialists whom you can consult over a voice/video call and get any sort of help that you need.
