Racing Carrier Start 16 Years Germany

I'm 17 years old, I want to become a racecar driver. I live in Hungary, don't have experience/millionaire family but I would be passionate about racing. What type of motorsport could I master?

Realistically unless you have a very close friend or relative who will foot the bill it's probably too late for you to have a shot at professional motorsports--as a driver. Clarification--imagine that, having never played soccer, you now--at the age of 17--want to become a professional soccer player. What chance do you think you would have compared to boys who started at age 5? The answer is the same for motorsports. You can certainly have a shot at amateur racing--all you need is to go to college, get a degree in a high-earning profession, make a lot of money, save that money, and pour it all into motorsports. But to become a professional? Sure, it's possible. Just highly unlikely. A guy I know who owned a professional racing team finally won a championship. He told his wife, "Look honey, we made $1M this year racing." She replied, "Yeah, but you spent $8M to get there." This is the essence of motorsports. In any televised race, you will have some large percentage of the drivers who are there because they brought enough money--either personal or through a sponsorship--in order to race. They're not racing because they are the best driver, they are racing because they can afford to. Even in F1 a certain number of the back-markers are only there because they can bring the millions of dollars it takes to field and F1 team. The only indirect method I can envision is to dominate some simulated racing arena like Simracing | iRacing.com  and see if you can parley that into an actual test. There's a contest for one of the racing games that results in an actual ride; iRacing has Skip Barber schools they award to top finishers in some categories. It might work, given enough raw talent and tremendous dedication and hard work. Good luck!

Can a 14 year old with no racing experience become a F1 driver?

Let me start by saying, you need to be the best of the lot to make it. It's not just the racing you'll be doing as a professional driver. Media appearances, sponsor appearances, simulator work , physical fitness and ultimately, you'll be living out of a suitcase for most of the year. Let's look at the passion and talent side of it. Ask yourself these questionsIs this what you want in life? Think hard about it. Because Motorsport is expensive, really really expensive. Are you up for it? You can fund yourself up to a limit, but after that you will require sponsors. Think about how you'll be able to do that. You may want to read "Aussie Grit" by ex-f1 driver Mark Webber. He goes quite a bit in detail about how he dealt with such situations. You answered yes to the first question and are 100% committed to your cause? Brilliant. Have you tested yourself against other drivers to assess how good you are? Gotten feedback on your natural flair, talent etc by someone who's done a bit of racing himself? That will be a solid base to assess your racing future.Haven't done 2 yet? Don't worry. Enter yourself into amateur karting competitions for a year. Assess your progress. Are you on top each and everytime? Beating the competition by a country mile?If so, move forward. You could be a potential talent. Get the attention of talent scouts and sponsors.Move to Europe. Compete in open wheel championships like British Formula 4, GP3 etc and prove your credibility. You'll start attracting the few talent scouts out in Europe.Hope to get into a young driver programme. Ace every championship you are entered in. Be at the top of your fitness and be a driver every sponsor would want on their portfolio. Success begets success.F1 simulator and practice outings will follow. Be within the benchmark times set, and soon you'll be knocking on the doors of a full time drive in  F1.Sounds too easy? Well, it certainly is not. But if you feel this is it for you, go for it. Good luck and hopefully see you on the grid(s) soon!

What is the 'average' cost of shipping a horse (by plane) from Frankfurt to Toronto?

Before I book my plane ticket to Germany, I want to know what I'm getting myself into. Should I find a horse I would like to buy while I'm there, does anyone know what a realistic price is for a plane ticket from Frankfurt, Germany to Toronto, Canada?

I know it depends on the size and weight of the horse, so let's say something between 16.1 and 17hh..

Anyone have personal opinions as to who I should ship with / what the cost of shipping their horse was?

Fighter jet on a carrier vs top fuel/funny car?

I'm curious to know which one accelerates quicker in the same amount of time? Navy jets have the catapult to accelerate them off the deck of an aircraft carrier but does that catapult launch them quicker than a dragster. If I had to guess, I would think a dragster would win side-by-side but I really don't know.

How do I enter karting as a 16-year-old, as my parents aren’t exactly rich and probably can’t afford it? Is there any other way except work, as I can’t work full-time as I am still in full-time education?

If you’re *really* charismatic you might be able to convince small businesses or your parents’ place of employment to sponsor you, but otherwise, yeah, you need wheelbarrows of money to burn, although some smaller series near you may have lower spec classes. For example, a former colleague who lives in the Huntsville (USA) area takes his kid to a dirt track and the class he runs in uses a cheap lawn mower motor from Harbor Freight (like $150). This is how Tony Stewart, a relatively successful NASCAR and Indy car driver, got started. For comparison, the Rotax motor in my son’s kart runs about $3,500 (figure another €5.000 for the chassis, €1.500 for safety gear and then continual costs for day tickets, tires, fuel, rebuilds, broken/bent parts and racing fees.Ah, I just peeked at your profile and see you’re in the UK - no cheap racing on dirt tracks for you I suspect, just expensive racing like in Germany.Your other issue is that at 16 you’ll be racing against kids who have been racing for 12–13 years already, many with parents with seemingly bottomless bank accounts. Finding some legitimate driving instructors will greatly shorten your learning curve, but of course, cost money.

How much would insurance cost for a 16 year old boy with a Nissan 350Z?

IT DEPENDS ON WHAT HIS DRIVING RECORD LOOKS LIKE BUT NO MATTER WHAT ITS NOT GOING TO BE CHEAP A 350Z IS CONSIDERD A SPORTS CAR AND WITH THE BOY BEING ONLY 16 IT WILL COST MORE BECAUSE THE INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE GOING TO ASSUME HE IS RACING IN IT WITCH HE PROBABLY WILL BUT THIS SHOULD HELP WHEN I WAS 18 I PURCASHED A 350Z AND MY DRIVING RECORD WAS PERFECT BUT IT STILL TOOK A 700 HUNDRED DOLLAR DOWN PAYMENT AND 346 A MONTH FOR FULL COVERAGE

Why was Germany so technologically advanced during WWII?

The Nazis developed the first Assault Rifle, the STG 44, which served as the basis for nearly all Assault Rifles, most notably the AK 47 (and the M16). The jet engine and the first functional jet airplane were both conceived and constructed by German engineers. The V2 rocket, the first ICBM and the first man made item to enter outer space, started being developed in the 1920s. Both the Russian and American rockets of the space race were basically modified German V2 rockets which didn't launch until the 1960s. The reason the UK, the USA, and USSR were the superpowers of the 20th century was because they essentially stole all of this technology from the collapsed Germany after the war.

If Germany had only used its superior science and engineering for the benefit of humanity rather than evil, do you think Germany would have been the worlds top superpower of the 20th century? Why did all of this innovation occur in Germany as opposed to Great Britain, which was considered to be the top European power of the early 1900s?
