Ralph Milliband. Where Did His Money Come From

How credible is the Daily Mail?

There was a very simple forensic exercise conducted by investigators into how the Daily Mail concocts its stories and it was very illuminating:Some years ago the Daily Mail ran a headline story along the lines of :“London Underground nfested with billions of human fleas”The investigators contacted London Underground to discover if this was true.“No, of course not” said LU“So where has the DM got this figure of ‘billions of human fleas’?“Well, that is the figure we estimate would be the case if we did not have an infestation control programme in place. And as the contract for that programme is coming up for renewal shortly it is in the tender document we have sent out to interested bidders”“So there are definitely not ‘billions of human fleas’ on LU?“Categorically, no”The Daily Mail never ran a correction to the headline story despite being officially informed of the true situation by LU

What is the difference between communism and marxism?

Only a Marxist could provide you with a real answer, and even then be sceptical, you’re asking a question that very few people have any interest in answering honestly.Communism is used two ways, depending on context, as an economic concept it is the final economic system. It ONLY would exist after scarcity no longer exists, and it would only happen long after Socialism would become the global economic system. Anyone who promises you Communism now is a cynical Utopian, and is actually dangerous. Those that do, such as WSM, will call what they are selling “socialism”. Whereas socialism requires the workers directly own the means of production, meaning they’d be the direct shareholders at their places of employment. The other definition is the political party, the communist party, created by Marx. The communist party was a reflection of the material conditions at the time, A communist is a party member, a communist state is a single party state run by a communist party. The definitions are cultureal, and yes the party had its own party ideology.Marxism is NOT an ideology or dogma, it is the application of historical materialism, it is a scientific methodology to the field of socio-economic development. So Marx the man employed Marxism to inform his political work, in the same way a scientist uses the scientific method. Francis Bacon outlined his scientific method, it doesn't mean we use all of his science, as he could be mistaken in his work. It is his method that was so valuable.
