Do I have to do Ramadan?
Let me tell you a beautiful story.There was a man who had to take the exact same exam. He received a call from his mother about an hour before the test, and she asked when the test would be over. He answered four hours.His mother called again immediately after the test, and she asked him how he did. He performed extraordinarily well (he received his score immediately). His father then picks up the phone and asks, “do you know what your mother was doing for the past four hours? She was sitting on the prayer mat, praying to Allah that you will perform well.” Subhanallah (Glory be to God).I’m not saying that you need a parent to perform continuous prayers during the duration of your exam, but if the continuous worship from the man’s mother helped him to succeed, imagine what reward you’ll receive when not only your mother is worshipping, but your entire family, if not your entire Muslim community, is fasting during the holy month of Ramadan.

Once, while conversing with Almighty Allah (SWT), Prophet Musa / Moses (pbuh) requested: "O' Lord! I desire to meet the person, who is to be my companion in Paradise." Jibril (Gabriel) descended and informed Prophet Musa / Moses (pbuh) that his companion was to be a butcher who lived in a certain place. Prophet Musa / Moses (pbuh) set out in search of him and arrived at his shop, when he noticed a youth, resembling a night watchman, busy selling meat. When night fell, the youth took some meat and proceeded towards his house. Prophet Musa / Moses (pbuh) followed him till they reached there. Prophet Musa / Moses (pbuh) approached the youth and said, "Would you not like to have a guest?" The youth willingly agreed and took Prophet Musa / Moses (pbuh) inside. Prophet Musa / Moses (pbuh) watched the youth preparing some food. When he had finished, he brought down a large basket from the upper storey. Bringing out an old and wizened woman from inside it, he washed her and then proceeded to feed her with his own hands. When the youth was about to carry the basket back to its original place, Prophet Musa / Moses (pbuh) noticed the old woman's lips move as she mumbled something incomprehensible. The youth then brought food for Prophet Musa / Moses (pbuh) and both of them ate their dinner. Prophet Musa / Moses (pbuh) inquired, "What is your relation with this old woman?" The youth replied, "She is my mother and since my financial state does not allow me to purchase a slave-girl for her, I myself strive to serve and look after her." Prophet Musa / Moses (pbuh) questioned further, "What did your mother mumble before you took her upstairs?" The youth responded, "Whenever I wash her and feed her, my mother prays: May Allah (SWT) forgive you and place you in the company and in the rank of Prophet Musa / Moses (pbuh) in Paradise." Hearing this, Prophet Musa / Moses (pbuh) said, "O' Youth! I give you glad tidings; Allah (SWT) has accepted your mother's prayers and Jibril (Gabriel) has informed me that you shall be my companion in Paradise!" Salam, Lion of Ali(AS)
Ramadan: do you know any muslim convert(s)? if yes, what led them to islam?
I know a lot of muslim converts but I'll tell you 2 stories about 2 muslim converts :) Story 1: I met a muslim convert in a laundromat. She was telling me her life as a Jewish. Well, actually, she didn't act like one. She used to drink, party, do drugs, etc. She was very popular in her HS years. She got everything she wanted, but she felt empty inside. She felt something was missing in her life. She decided to do her research about her religion to get closer to God. Still, she felt empty. She did research about other religions. Islam was one of them. She fell in love with it and converted to Islam a couple years ago. I'm so happy for her. What amazed me more is that she told me she converted more than 700 Christians to Islam because she went from church to church to preach about Islam. Story 2: I know this Dominican guy who had struggled a lot in his life. Every night he would get drunk or get high with his crew. He fell deeply in depression because he felt life was meaningless. One day, my muslim friend decided to do something to change his life. He taught him about Islam little by little. He gradually became interested in Islam and converted to it. One day during the dinner he declared his embracement to Islam to his family. His mother started crying. She said, "I'd rather you to turn gay than being a muslim!!!!!!!" His father was very unhappy so was his entire family. It hurted him a lot. Right now, they accepted with his decision because they realized how Islam changed him in many ways and how it turned him into a better person. He doesn't fight them as he used to. He respects them even more. He smiles more often. My muslim friend has converted 3 of his friends to Islam. He definitely has his ticket to heaven! inshallah lol.
