Ramadan How Do You Celebrate Eid

What is it like to celebrate Eid al-Fitr in Iran?

Well, Since it's a religious celebration, it varies in different cities. In general in bigger cities Like Tehran or Shiraz, National Celebrations like "Norooz (New year)" or "Shabe Yalda (Yalda Night)" are far more important than religious celebrations. In smaller towns or villages people visit each other, and ask each other to "Halal" them, some kind of asking for forgiveness if they did something wrong to each other.Early in the morning, people go to "Namaz Eid" which is prayer for eid. Also there is a tradition which if someone dies before Eid, his/her family will serve food and people will visit.I think some special shows will be played on TV on this day (I'm not sure as don't watch TV).To sum up, in more religious areas, Eid Al Fitr is considered more important, but in bigger cities National Celebrations are far more important.

How do you celebrate your Eid?

First of all Eid Mubarak to everyone and thank you so much for all of your wishes. We, muslims observe two Eids.Eid-ul-FitrEid-ul-AzhaAs I have already written about how I celebrate my Eid-ul-Fitr, so, it's time for Eid-ul-Azha.The celebrations of Eid-ul-Azha are very different from Eid-ul-Fitr. They almost get started almost ten days before Eid.Celebrations start from hunting the right animal for sacrifice and bring it home as soon as we get it. We usually buy one goat and two parts in a cow. (Cow's meat can be divided into seven parts and each part can be bought by different people)My mother arranges a special corner for it and all three of us are assigned works to serve him. We serve him like a special guest. My brothers have researched about all goat favourite foods and they try bringing all of them home.My brother who is habitual of waking up just ten minutes before his office time, suddenly starts feeling that he is desperately in need of a great morning walk. So, he wakes up early and goes for a morning walk with our goat. The dire need of morning walk ends right after Eid-ul-Azha every year.At the day of Eid, we wake up for Fajar, then iron our clothes. My brothers and father get ready and go for Eid congregation. Me and my mother start cleaning home, preparing things for sacrifice and making breakfast. After all of these, we also get ready, offer Eid prayer and start waiting for my brothers and father. When they come back, they change their clothes and slaughter the goat (We don't hire butchers. My father and brothers turn into butchers.) And take out the liver first. My mother prepares tasty liver then we have our breakfast. (We, Muslims, usually don't eat until our sacrifice.)Then me and my mother also change clothes and wear oldest of our clothes because now we have to work all day long.First, we divide meat into three equal parts. One part is for us, the second part is for our relatives, and third part is for the poor and needy people. We make sure that everyone gets their part. Then we start cooking different dishes. I love making Tikka, biryani, Handi kabaab, Chapli kabab, minced meat, hunter beef etc. I usually cook whatever my brothers ask me to.My mother makes world class Bihari Kabab and my father makes takatak. We have lots of family and friends get togethers, sometimes at ours and sometimes at their homes. In short, this Eid is a very busy occasion for me and my family. Thanks for asking and once again Eid Mubarak.Abhi

Dont want to celebrate eid?

Sabr (patience) my friend, Allah loves those who are patient. I think you should try and see what the root of the problem here, how did your family let you down, do you think maube you can sit down with them and sort out the problem? If not then sabr, make dua to Allah and im sure He will make things easy for you and double your rewards. Its okay you dont have to celebrate eid like most ppl do, just go to the prayer, come back home and do whatever you wanna do, but try not to upset your family, and maybe try and get involved in things they want u to do. Every step we take in life is a test, we may not be aware of it but all our actions is being recorded. Some of these actions could potentially be what gets you to paradise.

Why do we celebrate Eid?

Look at this verse: Surah Al-Baqarah [2:185]The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful. Therefore, we do fast during the Ramadan in order to celebrate the Quran. And the Eid is like the final stage of this celebration.

May blessings of this day be upon you and other Muslims too.
For us its tomorrow and its probably gonna be fasting, prayers and may be some special things for dinner.
Also there is a "thing" not religious: we take Eidi from Sayeds.

NINJA: You just asked and I respect it when some one really wants to know and I am glad I can help.

Don't you agree, it's stupid not to fast Ramadan yet celebrate Eid?

hahahahaha what the hell? Seriously? There are people like that? I mean it's called Eid el fetr for a reason and that's because you finally get to eat all day after a full month of only one iftar so people who actually worked their a**es off the whole months are the only ones who should celebrate eid :D Happy eid to you by the waaay :)

Can you celebrate Eid if you haven't fasted because of sin?

You have missed out on a great reward. You have to fast 60 days in succession now, but you will never be able to get the reward of what you have missed.
I do not see why you cannot celebrate Eid.

And by the way, your argument is circular and illogical.
We are supposed to stop doing good deeds because we have sinned? On the contrary, all the more reason to
do good deeds.

Why do Muslims Celebrate Eid? What is the Story behind Ramzan And Fasting?

RAMZAN:It is considered as one of the five pillars of Islam. Millions of Muslims around the world on this day marked the start of Ramzan, a month of intense prayer, dawn-to-dusk fasting and nightly feasts. Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of Ramzan. Why do Muslims Fast:Ramzan is a time of contemplation, fortitude and worship. The fast is intended to bring the faithful closer to God and to remind them of the suffering of those less fortunate. Ramzan is a time to detach from worldly pleasures and focus on one's inner self. It's seen as a way to physically and spiritually purify, refraining from habits such as smoking and caffeine. Muslims often donate to charities during the month and feed the hungry. Many spend more time at mosques during Ramzan and use their downtime to recite the Quran.Fasting during Ramzan is one of the five pillars of Islam, along with the Muslim declaration of faith, daily prayer, charity, and performing the hajj pilgrimage in Mecca. How do they Fast:Observant Muslims abstain from eating and drinking from dawn to dusk for the entire month of Ramzan. A single sip of water or a puff of a cigarette is enough to invalidate the fast. How do they break their Fast:Muslims traditionally break their fast like the Prophet Muhammad did some 1,400 years ago, with a sip of water and some dates at sunset. That first sip of water is the most anticipated moment of the day. After sunset prayers, a large feast known as "iftar" is shared with family and friends. Iftar is a social event as much as it is a gastronomical adventure. Across the Arab world, apricot juices are an iftar staple. In South Asia and Turkey, yogurt-based drinks are popular. How do muslims break their Fast:The end of Ramzan is marked by intense worship as peopple seek to have their prayers answered during "Laylat al-Qadr" or "the Night of Destiny." It is on this night, which falls during the last 10 nights of Ramzan, that Muslims believe that God sent the Angel Gabriel to the Prophet Muhammad and revealed the first verse of the Quran. The end of Ramzan is celebrated by a three-day holiday called Eid al-Fitr. Children often receive new clothes, gifts and cash.Source:https://timesofindia.indiatimes....
