Ramadan Is It Possible That God Dictated These Words

Ramadan How do Quranists pray?

They follow their desires through and through.

And they often pick and choose.

They'll say that they don't follow hadeeth, but sometimes they'll use hadeeth to describe the Prophet sal Allaahu 'alayhi wa sallam or talk about Islaam with others.

In reality, pure Qur'anists know virtually zilch about Islaam. The Qur'aan and the sunnah go hand in hand (and the Qur'aan tells us to do this too! Allaah tells us to obey the Messenger sal Allaahu 'alayhi wa sallam). Many scholars hold them at the same importance (for the application of Islaam into our daily lives). And they're both from Allaah, so I really don't get Qur'aaniyoons.

I think there are at least 2 of them here on Y!A. And one of them said they only pray 2-3 times a day :S (but don't mind praying the 5 lol).

[Ramadan] What does “al-ummi” (الامی) mean?

asalam alaikum wa rahmat alllah wa barakatuh
Thank you brother Hussein 4 this question.
I wanted to answer your Q earlier but I couldn't.
now I can ......... :)
the word "ummi" doesn't mean "who didn't learn or don't know to write or read"
for our prophet (pbuh & hf) it means that he is from um alqura = أم القرى which means mecca.
هُوَ الَّذِي بَعَثَ فِي الأُمِّيِّينَ رَسُولاً مِنْهُمْ يَتْلُو عَلَيْهِمْ
thank you for using resourses

sorry 4 late
salam

Ramadan: Prophets after Muhammad (pbuh)?

Why is there a need for prophets after Muhammad (pbuh) if he had been sent with the last scripture/book and the perfect religion?

If Ahmadis answer this question, please answer this as well: You accept all six Sahih books that the Sunnis use, but deny all those that contradict/conflict with the Quran according to the translations you use. But, for all those you reject, they do not contradict the Quran with the translations we use (Hilali/Khan, etc).

For an example, the phrase (خاتم النبيين) Khaatam Annabiyyeen - The seal of the prophets, has many different opinions on what it translates to. The majority of translators agree on two translations: The seal of the prophets, the last/final prophet. So, why is seal then translated to "mark" or "greatest" instead of final/last? Hadiths from the Sahih books clarify that Muhammad (pbuh) was the last and final messenger and prophet, and that does not conflict/contradict the verses of the Quran, but your translations of it. So, why then, adopt new terms or translations for the word Khaatam, instead of using those Hadiths discarded in which prophet Muhammad is stated to be the last and final prophet and messenger?

Ramadan: Is calling Rasoolallah (saww) an Illiterate a KUFR- He IS UMI- Umi does not mean Illiterate?

someone asked Imam Hasan Askari A.S, that was Rasool Allah s.a.w was illiterate ( ummi) , imam replied he can read and write in many languages and he is not ummi,

then asked said that we read in koran that Prophet s.a.w is ummi!
Imam Hasan Askari A.S replied , the one name of Makkah is Ummul Korra, so ummi means person who belong from Ummul Kurrah

( as person of Yaman is called Yamani, person of Qum is called Qummi, just like it person of Ummul korrah is called Ummi ! )

asker asked that many people saying that prophet was illiterate,
Imam replied that Allah s.w.t send curse ( laanat ) on that person who degrade Allah's prophet.

I would like to tell here my sunni brothers that why prophet said that i am leaving two things among you , koran and ahl e bait a.s because only ahl e bait knows secrets of koran.
Whenever sunni brothers do tafsir of koran so they do not take references from 12 Imams ( who are ahl e bait and Aal e mohammad a.s ) that is why they get a wrong meaning of word Ummi in koran.

Can I ask God for Guidance?

Only if you believe.

Muslims why does Allah dictate eternal punishment?

I asked the exact question a couple of days ago:

http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ai8xW7rTK7yrvxMcUClb3NMhBgx.;_ylv=3?qid=20100813131358AApMrP1

To me, it makes no sense. Sure, evil must be duly punished, but punishing humans for eternity just because they made the mistake of worshiping false deities (or no deities, for that matter) is just exceedingly irrational.

How is God more merciful than me if He threatens eternal punishment, skinning people alive in a blazing hellfire, whereas I can't imagine myself burning anyone in the first place?

If people disobey His commands, then sure, they should be punished until they're wiped off their sins. But how practicing a different religion warrants ETERNAL punishment in the most gruesome of manners is beyond me.

I don't mean to cause offence, I just want people to think logically.

Edit:
@gathotkoco: Mate, are you being serious? Children with physical and mental disabilities are born everyday. Not everyone is born perfect as you're claiming.

Ramadan Quran Challenge: Whoever gets this right first get's best answer!?

1; 1969 = 1389
2; I'm presuming there are 1389 verses left
So this means in many ways that the Glorious Quran in a hidden almost coded sort of sense forecasted the year (Islamic year) in which Insaan (Humankind) would finally step foot on the moon. Here are the facts from the moon landing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_11

Did anyone notice also that when Apollo 11 was exiting the Earth's atmosphere after launch, there was a cloud over the Pacific or Atlantic Ocean which clearly formed the name Allah and this photo believe me you was never photo-edited etc coz I saw a documentary the other day showing the actual video of the launch which confirms this
