Ramadan Why Did This Muslim Guy Say I

Are there any Muslims who don't fast on Ramadan?

Unfortunately there are many who don't fast. Also there are many misconceptions. Most non muslims think that Islam is so strict that a person has to fast no matter what. There are many conditions under which a muslim is allowed to not keep fast. Few of them include :- 1. If person has disease which can get severe because of fast.2. If person is too old to fast.3. If person is in travel and would find it difficult to fast.4. If a lady is pregnant or has a child which needs breast feeding.5. Also it is not mandatory for a small child. After a certain age only its mandatory. As you can see from above conditions most of the genuine hard conditions are taken off. So Islam does not mean to torture you. It takes care of unreasonable situations. Now, coming to the second part of your question. Muslims eat at least two meals. One early morning(Sehr) before sunrise and one straight after sunset(Iftaar). Sehr is in fact is encouraged and it is explicitly asked by Prophet that people should do Sehr and not avoid it. In most other religions concept of eating early morning is not there. Therefore, it becomes harder to fast.  As far as eating a lot is concerned, the human stomach has some capacity and certainly no one can stuff more then that. Actually, it is not that hard to fast. Once you have fasted for the first few days, the rest becomes easy. In fact even kids as young as in 9th standards keep full fast without any problem. Ramadaan does not mean a muslim should leave all work and just lie like an animal. And certainly it is no torture. The pleasure you get when you put the first morsel of food in your stomach at Iftaar and first sip of water is unparalleled. It will make you realise how important water is, and how important any food which you do not even think of eating normally is. You will start feeling for those who have no food to eat. Saying this is different, but ones you experience it you would understand better. Also it will make you more thankful to God, that he made you lucky enough to enjoy these things without any contribution of yours.

Ramadan: What is a gay muslim meant to do ?

Im a 18 year old muslim guy and found out about 2 years ago that my best friend (who was also muslim) who i've known since i was 3 was gay. He was just a normal guy like me but told me he could'nt help the way he felt, he never acted upon his feelings because it is taught in Islam that being gay is a big sin. Before he told me he was gay, i was extremely prejudiced towards homosexuals, i thought they were all like girls and promiscuous and all, but once i found out my best friend was gay my opinion changed, he was just a normal guy, who wanted to live his life to keep those around him happy. He never told his parents because he knew they would insult him and possibly beat him. He obviously never chose to be gay, he was just a normal teenager, why would he have chose to make his life so hard. Because of our religion he was very confused regarding what to do with his life, should he marry a girl ? How would that be fair on her if he wasn't attracted to her in any way? or should he be alone all his life ? How is that fair on him ? I remember he told me he went to an imam to speak to him about how he felt, and the imam told him that he chose to feel this way and he can choose to be attracted to girls ? Seriously? He never chose to feel like that, and i know that with all my heart, he would never choose to make his life so difficult. Anyway because of all the confusion and thinking he was already going to hell because of the way he felt, he committed suicide a year ago. Why would he have done this if it was all a choice ? It annoys me so much when people say gays choose to be like that. Did my best friend choose to feel this way, all the up until he felt the only way out was suicide? So what do you think a muslim who happens to be gay should do ? Should they marry a girl and pretend like everything is fine or do they remain alone all their life ? Thankyou

Ramadan, I heard Muslims say, "take beer, take beer!" Are they encouraging me to drink with them?

Takbir,,, a verb in arabic.. which means "Allah is greatest" to initiate the move in a prayer or exclaimation to say "Allahuakhar".... "Allah is greatest"

Ramadan: Should I marry a Muslim woman?

Im a Muslim guy from Saudi Arabia who doesnt find local women very attractive. i want a Western blonde girl. Please dont judge me. The problem is that most blondes are not Muslims... so should I go for it?

Why won't my Muslim fiance even speak to me during Ramadan?

Maybe stuff between you two a little bit not religious and violating Islam's terms and rules (Shari'ah) , I can't really sy so, but if it is, as Ramadan is the month of prayers and Taqwa, he decided to stay a bit away as he regrted the things he has done with you, and trying to repent, so start this matter with him, ask hime what does we do that violates your religion's commands and terms. And keep in mind that Islam totally allows a man speaking to his fiancee, but they're not allowed to touch each other or even speak nasty love words like most of the world does.Ask him and make sure you get his reasons and why he's doing this, and if I aimed right with the above, then offer him you both are going to stop such things for him and his religion, he'll be very happy and pleased with you for doing so.And I wish you well and happiness in both, your life and afterlife.

Ramadan is coming. What do you want to tell non-Muslims?

I’m going to write this answer to the non-Muslims that don’t know a whole lot about Ramadan, although I am very aware that there are many non-Muslims who know a ton about it. Thank you to both kinds of people who take the time out of their day to listen or read to try to understand what Ramadan is.The most common comment I get during this time is, “but you can drink water… right?” I’m sorry to dissapoint, but no. I had to explain this concept to most of my teachers every year. Yes, I do get thirsty, especially during the hot, summer days. I won’t die, though. I don’t even come 50% close to that point. Seriously, I’m totally fine. This leads me to my second point: people always tell me that if I eat something in front of them, they won’t tell, or ask me if I secretly eat behind my parents back. Sigh. I mean this with absolute certainty, my parents could stop fasting for Ramadan at any point and I would continue. I don’t do anything I do for my parents in regards for religion. I love them, but all this hard work isn’t for them, which is exactly why it doesn't make sense to secretly break a fast in Ramadan. Now that all that is settled, my last point: don’t feel bad about eating in front of me. I’m used to being around people that are eating. I started fasting all of Ramadan years ago! Year after year, people apologize for eating food when I’m fasting and I kind of appreciate that since I know they’re just being respectful but please don’t stop yourself from eating because I’m around!Once, my close friend was mad at me during Ramadan so she FaceTimed me in the middle of the day. As soon as I picked up, she took a long, cold sip of water from a clear glass, not breaking eye contact the whole time, and then hung up. Now that’s just mean, don’t do that. Just be nice and respectful towards your fellow Muslims. You can even try out fasting for a day (it won’t magically make you Muslim, only eating Shawarma can do that!) if you want, just to see what it’s like.

Are Muslim guys not allowed to hang out with girls during Ramadan?

there is nothing wrong with a girl hanging out with a guy or a guy hanging out with a girl, as long as they are not doing anything sinful. for example, they shouldn't:

be alone together, like in a room
touch skin-skin (like holding or shaking hands)
kiss
do anything sexual...etc...

however, simply going out with the opposite sex, in an open area is not haram (unlawful), unless they are going out with the intention to do a forbidden act...

please don't listen to the people who say that talking to the opposite sex is forbidden unless absolutely necessary,..this is simply not true...it is fine according to Islam for one to have friends of the opposite sex as long as they keep boundaries and make sure that anything sinful (like what i mentioned above) doesn't occur...the rules of Islam are perfect, and there is no rule that says one cannot be in the company of the opposite sex, as long as forbidden acts are avoided and the interaction is kept within boundaries...

As for the guys who tell u they can't hang out..maybe it is for a different reason than what u think, i.e. they are very tired from not eating, they want to sleep/rest, they want to be with families, or maybe the time u want to hang out is during iftar time...in Ramadan generally people don't go out too much if they don't need to, so there could be a lot of reasons....

Are Muslim guys not allowed to hang out with girls during Ramadan?

it's not just Haraam in Ramadan, but also during the whole year. Muslims were forbid to date or have any relationship before marriage. And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “No man is ever alone with a (non-mahram) women but the Shaytaan is the third one present.” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2165; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi, 1758)
