ALS - muscle twitch and weakness?

I'm a 24 year old male and I've had random muscle twitching for almost a year now... it would come and go and that would be it. Two weeks ago, though, I had a twitch in my left leg that came and stayed for 1/2 a day. It felt sore but got better. The next day it was in left forearm and stayed for same time and then no soreness.

After that, I had a twitching in my right shoulder below the blade that lasted for several days off and on. While it happened I never noticed anything odd with my arm, but when it was over it felt tired, weak, and heavy. I notice it takes more effort to lift things with my right arm now and my right hand is very stiff and shakes when I grip objects. I'm not sure if hand is related to shoulder or not.

I'm very worried as I've heard weakness and muscle twitching is very bad and I'm scared to death of ALS. Please help thank you.

Random muscle twitches or heart beat in muscle?

Random muscle twitches or heart beat in muscle?
Okay this is weird. First I should say I am a 23 yo male who has just been recently diagnosed with an under-active thyroid and have bouts of pretty bad anxiety.

I just got over my latest case of anxiety and if you look at my past questions, you can tell in a one week span I thought I had the colon and pancreatic cancer, ALS, and MS.

Anyway, I went to the doctor due to my hands tingling in the morning and the anxiety. Blood work showed my thyroid was off and they started me on an thyroid supplement.

Recently and possibly before now, I have felt a heart beat like feeling, a slight twitch almost in every part of my body. They do not last long at all, by the time I notice it and try to see it, it is gone. It happens everywhere. I hate to use the word twitch because its not a large movement, but almost like I can feel my heart beat in my thigh or calf or bicep or even buttocks...with my bicep for a quick two seconds I watched it pulsate.

So my questions are these:

1. What could be causing this? Anxiety or my thyroid? Or something worst?

2. When should I worry about twitching or these pulses? Again none are constant and do not stop me from working a daily life normally, just get me worried.

Thanks. Love this community.

What are the causes for involuntary muscle spasms all over your body (left eyelid, buttocks, legs, thighs, arms, etc. literally everywhere)

Before you freak out about this, there can be benign reasons for this and very serious reasons for this. I don’t know what your age, health habits, etc… are so it’s really hard to say. I’m 36, workout regularly, but did have a history of smoking until I quit at the age of 33. So, that was my background going into it.I herniated a disc in my neck in February of 2018. What ensued was a roller coaster ride and shockwave of curious electrical activity throughout my body. I swear to this day that turning my head for the first 12 weeks after the injury caused my knee to ache. All the doctors told me that couldn’t happen, but I went from zero issues to extreme problems overnight. One of those problems was muscular twitching all over. In fact, my right eyelid twitched non-stop for over 6 months. The fasciculations, as they’re called, finally got me sent to a neurologist. They were thinking MS, ALS, etc… After all the testing came back, they diagnosed me with BFS: Benign Fasciculation Syndrome. The keyword there is “BENIGN.” Oddly, as soon as they figured this out and I was able to consciously tell myself there was nothing wrong, the twitching went away.I largely attribute the herniation to have triggered, somehow, an excessively high level of stress hormones both because of the physical injury and the mental worrying. As the twitches continued, the worry became greater which caused more twitches, which caused more worry, and so on and so forth! At one point, I was in the middle of all this, I was moving, and things weren’t going well at home. We moved into our new home and got settled for a few weeks. That was also the week the results came back with no real problems diagnosed. I remember getting extremely sick after that - like I had been sapped of every ounce of energy I ever had. I stayed in bed for a solid week, drank tons of electrolytes, and finally found myself on the mend. So, to answer your question, it is most likely stress, electrolytes, or some other benign reason causing your issues. There is a small chance it could be a very serious issue, but I don’t know your risk factors. I would highly recommend taking a bunch of electrolytes, getting some rest, and just chilling out for a week. Then see if the twitches continue.

What causes a spasm like symptom while laying down at night?

The nature of your symptoms suggests two things. The first is that you are suffering a build-up of gas in your large bowel. This is usually vented in small amounts, but if you have some internal infection, and especially if you are stressed (which tends to keep the escape route tight), you may be producing too much: ask yourself, do you pass wind much during the day - if yes, then you may have some yeast-like infection, or helicobacter. In this case, your doctor will be able to help. The other possibility is a literal spasm. Most of us have had this: when you are sitting relaxed, perhaps day-dreaming, or even nodding off, your hand or sometimes your lower leg will suddenly twitch violently. This seems to be related to the slowing of circulation as you relax, one or more of your muscles deciding that it has accumulated too much waste product, and/or just wants a bit more blood. So, the muscle contracts violently to get things going. I haven’t heard of this in the lower abdominal region, but it’s a possibility. You haven’t mentioned your age, or how long you have had this symptom, but it would be sensible to mention it to your doctor if it keeps happening.

Muscle Twitches everywhere?

Hi there, I am 14 and had twitches for years. They used to be simple twitches a few times a day, but have increased to a few twitches every few seconds.

It all started with a simple toe twitch that freaked me out, and the twitches progressed worst since then. I then googled and thought I had ALS or a disease from having these twitch symptoms, which made them worst.
I went to the doctor and had blood tests and he found I was dehydrated, I got a bag and went home. Nothing else was wrong. I think the twitches calmed down after that for a few, but sparked back up the next day.

The twitches seem to come faster when I stress out or think about them too much, which is 24/7. They dont hurt, I have no weakness, it's just annoying.

Another thing is, Whenever I walk along time or stand up and move, those muscles I used start to twitch for a few seconds.

I was wondering if this can be from dehydration and out of shape?
Im skinny and I always am on the computer. I never exersize or work out. I sat on the computer pretty much 24/7 over the summer and didnt go outside once.

Do you think these movement causing twitches are from me being so weak, or do you think I have some disorder?
I have to constantly move about so I dont feel the twitches, but if I maintain very calm, I dont feel much of them, until I think about them and freak out if I feel one in a weird place.
Constantly on my feet, legs, stomach.

What is it mean to be spastic?

To be a spazz means that you freak out easily, or you have alot of energy.

Can be negative, but not in every context.

What is a "spaz" because people call me it and I dont know what it means?

A spaz has many diffrent denifintions like ;

-A Person that feaks out alot.

-Very Hyper/Energenic

-If Filled with anger this might cause them to "spaz"....freak out, yell, etc.

Spaz basically means your very angry and you cant control yourself.
