Rappers I Would Like That Still Make Music

Music is like candy you have to throw away the rappers?

Uh,,,i agree if the rap music has a bunch of profanity. Otherwise, some rap is actually good like tupac, twista, kanye. They rap about meaningful stuff.

R&P POLL: Pop music vs. rap music?

I understand Wire and String. But overall, which genre do you listen to more?

I'd call myself a symphonic metal fan even though I don't like After Forever, a fairly popular band in that genre. Just think of it in terms of the whole thing.

What do you love most about rap music?

It's hard for me to choose one thing, so I'll say a few.First of all, it gives a new spin to lyricism (see Eminem or Tech n9ne) that nothing else has so far. It introduces a cool (no offense to poets out there) sounding version of poetry.Second, freestyle rapping, when done regularly, can drastically increase your ability to think on the spot without hesitation, as well as keep going when you slip up. It also gives you a cool thing to do at parties or impress people with. I've actually had a few people be really impressed that I could do it so well, even though I would consider myself mediocre at best.Anyone who likes rap should give freestyling a try. Yes, you will fellate sizeable phallus at first, but it's still pretty motherfuckin fun! There's this spark that I always felt I had inside of me, waiting to be ignited. Whenever I would play an instrument or listen to music, especially rap, I would feel the spark there, but it was dull. It didn't feel like it was at its full potential. Then, once I got a decent baseline of skill at freestyling, it felt… indescribably amazing. Like it was what I was meant for, you know what I'm sayin? I felt like the spark fucking exploded! Like I had finally found what I was good at. Not just decent, I felt like it was exactly what my brain was designed for. It felt so natural, and I was naturally more adept at it than others. But enough bragging.Freestyling, in my opinion, is a must do. It should be on your “bucket list”. Once you get the hang of it, the feeling is like noting else. It feels as good as being high, even for someone, such as myself, with an anxiety disorder. You don't think about what they care about you, or what could go wrong! You think of the possibilities and what could go right! As you can tell, I really do love rap. I would feel incomplete without it. I wouldn't know what to do.

Why is rap music so bad today?

The artists just give people what they want. It's sad but it's true. I hate to say it but i doubt 2pac would be marketable anymore.

Why do people that love rock music hate rap?

Wow I understand what your saying but the percentage is off.I love hip-hop and some people take it to serious saying that hip hop make Black/African Americans look bad and the truth to that it doesn't make Black/African America look bad because Hip-Hop does not represent the African American community its musical genre that every race can listen to anywhere and anytime they want. The media continue to push the issue about the music that distract you from the problem that goes on with this country such as, education, health care, war, and etc. The media sensationalize Hip-Hop so much until everyone will feed into because there are violence in the black community and some hip-hop have some aggressive music so anything with some truth to it they will stretch and bend it to seem the whole genre is bad. There are Rock music with horrible title such as Sublime "Date Rape" or when a Korn fan killed in a Mosh Pit and the member of Pantera was killed on stage. So if we put this issue strongly about rock music then everyone will believe that Genre of music is tasteless. The media is very bias and most likely put out negative images or sensationalize anything that deals with African American community regardless if it deal with music or not.

I make rap/hip hop 80s/90s music. Would you still listen?

Depends how it sounds and how it is. I believe hip hop has advanced in many ways. Some people have a weird theory that rap was way better back then and there are no good rappers out there today, this stereotype usually comes because people here too much of radio rap which is pretty bad at the moment. There is differently talent out there, for example in 2014 Kendrick Lamar dropped “To pimp a butterfly” which happens to be one of the greatest albums I have ever heard. This album brings great jazz samples, great lyrics and a bit of funk. But most importantly does something new, which overall takes hip hop to the next level.By trying to copy a style from the 90s and not putting in your own style will only create boring music, I believe we have moved on from the 80s and 90s. There are still many rapper that rappers that rap with a like 90s style but they all do there own thing with it to make it interesting. For example Joey bada$$ dropped his mixed tape 1999 which is heavily influenced by 90s rap, but by listening to this you can tell that he put is own mark on it, creating an interesting/marvoulous album.

What do you think of each rapper below?

Tyga He used to be a wiz khalifa biter. I liked hookah

Nas Illmatic is considered the best rap album ever the rest of his career has been very underwhelming. Despite this hes still a favorite of mine. I think ether as a diss song is extremely extremely overrated to where you may think i dont like nas. Also belly is a goat movie

Kyle i liked some of what ive heard by him. That being the i spky song i love and i one time listen to his album. I really like his movie on netflix and suggest it you. He plays a upincoming rapper who goes viral for throwing up on wiz khalifa and must redeem himself

3pac ? Idk who that is but 2pac was favorite of mine growing up. I think hes the most consistent and most important ppl in hip hop history. Hit em up is the goat diss

Rakim hes the inventor of flow and the rirst real rapper i recognize him as a goat and put him in my top 5 but i dont listen to him.

Why is it that the people like Hopsin (rapper) don't get as famous as mumbling rappers like Young Thug?

Hopsin makes music that is generally seen by Hip-Hop fans as very bad. In fact, that’s the primary thing that Hopsin is really known for in the Hip-Hop community.Go to a site like Rap Genius, KTT, Section80, the Coli, or pretty much any major Hip-Hop community hub and tell them that you love Hopsin, or that Hopsin’s one of your favorite rappers, or tell them that Hopsin is better than Young Thug. People will assume that you are a troll because Hopsin is the go-to example of a bad underground artist. In fact, if you were to make a thread on one of those type sites asking people to name the worst underground rapper they can think of, I guarantee you that Hopsin will be one of the first artists to be brought up.The thing is, those sites are made up of the core Hip-Hop fanbase. These are the consumers that devote enough of their time to and energy to the culture to actually be able to collectively influence it. Starting and ending trends. Launching or strengthening an artist’s career, etc.Sure, there are one-hit wonder’s like Silento. Then there are people like Flo Rida who are seen as trash by the community, but still go on because they appeal to people who don’t have much to do with Hip-Hop culture (i.e. Pop radio fans). But Hopsin just doesn’t seem anything like Flo Rida to me. Unless he becomes a better artist, he’s not really going to be able to appeal to much of anybody. Not sure what it has to do with Young Thug. But Thugger is a critically acclaimed artist. Very versatile vocalist. He’s a guy who not only makes music that is seen as having artistic value by the core fanbases, he’s also somebody who makes music that appeals to a general enough audience.
