Re Social Security Disability My Claims Examiner Disability Dtermination Said Dt. Signed Off On

Can a person on social security disability sign for a loan without the knowledge of their payee?

Lenders generally want proof that you have enough income to repay your loan. You are not required to put all your income sources on the loan application, but you can only count the income that you list. So without the disability benefits, you are showing less ability to repay. If you have substantial income from other sources (for example, from investments or rentals), banks might loan you money based on that income alone. In that case, you could leave your disability payments off the application.

Is Trump going to take away my Social Security disability?

Question: Is Trump going to take away my Social Security disability?Well, while I am absolutely certain that Thumper would like to walk in with a big, fat, black magic marker and redact everything (including the Bill of Rights and the Constitution, if he can find it, minus the 2nd Amendment) that enables people not in the top 1% survive, he doesn’t have the authority…yet, which is why everyone should make certain to get out and vote in the next election and save our Already Great Country before too much more damage is done.Congress would have to vote to do that, after hearing all the arguments and looking at the results it would undoubtedly have. I am bedridden and I would rent a gurney and caregivers just to go protest at the White House, even if it killed me. I am sure there are many others who feel the same. With the recent Tax Penalties for All Citizens below the top 1% Act signed by Thumper on December 22, 2017, there is a huge deficit that needs to be covered by something and why not use Social Security, SNAP, TANF, grants, student assistance, etc. to cover them. It is a fast and easy way to weed out those Thumper thinks are not worth having as citizens then he doesn’t have to wait in line for his Big Mac’s or french fries and KFC meals. The one thing Thumper is not thinking through is that this is the group of people that fill his 20 Big Macs and 10 Kentucky Fried Chicken Bucket orders with an extra gallon of fat on the side on each order. He would never think of raising the minimum wage to a livable wage since he has no clue how people have to work their fanny off just to pay the rent, if they are lucky enough to be able to even have a home.

Social Security Disability Benefits Help!!?

No do not hire a lawyer at this point. It will take up to 6 months. They are doing a lot better than they did a few years ago. I signed up and had no problem because I really was disabled. You probably will be sent to a couple of neutral doctors. They I found to be fair and truthful about your health. I think that some of the people who try and don't get it can work or they are you.Just do everything they tell you to do.And I think you need to keep notes of when and who you speck with. I also didn't keep calling like I had to do when my x husband got his years ago. Just wait! And wait,it will come telling you one way or the other. Then if you are denied you can appeal and I still would not get a lawyer at this point. Sorry lawyers but I have found in my life that sometimes I am just as well off on my own.

Social security?

When a person files a disability claim in a Social Security office the file is sent (usually electronically) to a Disability Determination office for a decision. They will use the medical release form you signed to obtain medical records from the medical sources you listed when you filed your claim. They will use these records from your doctors to decide if they think your condition is severe enough to keep you out of work for a year or longer, which is Social Security's definition of disability. If you are denied you will receive a notice in the mail and you do have appeal rights. You do not have to have an attorney to file an appeal, so if you are denied visit your Social Security office and they will help you. You can always call your local SSA office or your Disability Examiner to see if a decision has been made on your case.

Is Trump going to cut Social Security Disability (SSDI) & Medicare benefits?

Sorry to rain on the party here but the answer is an unequivocal YES and it’s already in the stages of movement. I won’t say here, in this forum, of how I know but it is presently in motion. I’ll leave you with this- Google the American Company “ATOS and London UK disability benefits” and you’ll get a first hand look at what’s about to happen. On the political side to those saying that “Trump said he wouldn’t cut SS and Medicare”, well, he’s already cut $500 Billiion out of medicare. It’s already done. Secondly, “Trump said…..” Really? Yeah, because Trump never lies right? In addition both Trump and Mulveny do not believe that SSDI is part of SS and when Mulveny was asked specifically ‘Will there be any cuts to SS Disability?” He’s response was “I hope so”.Finally, the bill was just sent to the congress on Friday during all the Supreme Court noise along with the Rosenstein issue. Snuck it right in. Here you go:GOP Quietly Sends Bill To Gut Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid By $2 TrillionThe bill is on ‘FastTrack’. What’s going to happen is Mulveny will be contracting ATOS for those on SSDI and SSI to be assessed and, as in the UK, if you can move a finger you’ll have 0 points. Too bad, good luck and good bye. ATOS will be given specific “milestones” to reach and bonuses will be pain on reaching each tier so their incentive is to get as many off of SSDI/SSI is limitless. In the UK countless times have they discontinued benefits for the disabled only to see them pass away from said disability days and/or weeks later. You’ve got to understand, these cuts will be framed as “people that were not originally entitled to SSDI” or “They got better” or…. a thousand different reasons so the general public sees them as thieves. Finally, this is going to take place on Nov. 7th, the day after the mid-term elections. Why? They want to save as many of their seats as possible before the 6th. Because there’ll be so much noise about the elections no one will notice. Why wait until the 7th? Because it’s a win-win for the GOP. If they loose the majority in congress they have 8 weeks to get it through. They have nothing to lose and can go onto their next jobs that they’ve worked years for. If they hold the congress, well then, it’s a win-win again. And I’m not giving opnion here, this is happening. Sorry but there will be deep cuts to these plans.

What are the problems associated with viewing disability as a binary condition, rather than as a continuum? I am confused on the difference between the two.

There are no problems. They are simply two systems which work in conjunction with each other. Disability is seen as a binary condition. You either have or do not have said disability. It stems from something happening to or within your body. The continuum relates to how an individual responds to that fact. How much one allows their condition to control them versus the person taking control. The former finds people with limited skills and motivation. The latter results in greater function and productivity as the person decides to find the means to succeed. We live in a social environment, fraught with people harboring opinions about what is and is not acceptable. Disabilities are one of those hot spots. People either accept disabilities as another facet of humanity, or they do not; a binary viewpoint. Just as people accept, or decry race, color, creed, gender identity, lifestyle, etc. Again, this is binary for each.Disability, for the individual, creates a myriad of issues. One must address everything from self acceptance and use of abilities to responding to societal acceptance and lack thereof. These issues, and the multitude of others, are on a continuum that cannot be quantified. For many, the largest issue becomes acceptance. Being accepted into a bigoted world where any deviation from the expected is rebuked. Some, in the disability community, see acceptance as the responsibility of others, and society in general. These are the people who believe we can legislate acceptance; make people accept differences. The flaw in that belief process, as is evident in all civil rights legislation, is that people still harbor their beliefs. Those beliefs are often contrary to the legal mandates. This results in undermining the class, and its individuals. The real acceptance needs to come from within. Recognizing that there are those who will never accept differences and living life to its fullest in spite of that. Choosing to maximize personal potential is far more gratifying than trying to get the pig headed and snooty elite to see one as equal to them. The former can be a formidable task, but achievable. The latter is like swimming against the rapids.Succeed at the former and you will still be disabled, but you will be much less handicapped than the self-righteous in this society. Those who use themselves, and their kind, as barometers of good and success.

Are Social Security disability benefits (SSDI) widely abused?

You probably want to talk about "widely".  CRFB says : Although efforts should be taken to reduce abuse (and some are ongoing), even stopping all of the waste would not dramatically alter the course of Social Security’s finances. Here is research from the CRFB.  In reading the research, I have to question the title.  It seems to numerically mock Donald Trump. http://fiscalfactcheck.crfb.org/...You have to read the footnotes :"1 “Improper payments” is a particular term that captures all payments to the wrong person, with insufficient documentation, or in the wrong amount (either too much or too little). In cases of improper documentation, such as deceased individuals, the entire amount is considered an improper payment. In cases of an over- or underpayment, just the amount paid over or under the scheduled benefit is tallied as improper. For several reasons, it would be difficult to recover the entire $3 billion figure we used here. Some of that amount is already recovered, and it costs money to recover additional overpayments. Some of the $3 billion is also an underpayment, so correcting the improper payment would spend more money."

How much in disability benefits?

You are entitled to social security disability benefits because you worked and paid into the program long enough. The amount of the benefit is based upon how much you paid into the program. It is an earned benefit and because of that your husband's income has no impact on your benefit. He could earn one million dollars and you would still be entitled. Benefits are usually paid to dependents - Children under age 18, at age 18 if attending high school full-time until graduation or to disabled children age 18+ who are unmarried and who became disabled before age 22. Spouse's can be paid if their are children under the age of 18 BUT if the spouse earns too much he/she would not be entitled to a benefit; a spouse could receive benefits if they earn less than $15,480 a year.

It is only SSI disability which would be affected by a spouse's income and that is only because SSI (Supplemental Security Income) is the federal welfare program and any income received by the beneficiary and/or the beneficiary's spouse impact the payment amount. No benefits are paid to the dependents of a person entitled to SSI.

When they have completed processing the claim you will receive an award notice (and you might receive a benefit before the letter - different computer programs). It will tell you what your reporting responsibilities are. If something isn't listed then it doesn't need reporting. Keep your notices in a file marked "social security" and read them before filing them.

Why is it so easy for people to recieve disability?

It is not easy at all to receive disability benefits, their are two programs social security has, one is SSI and the other is SSDI, A person cannot walk into the social security office and get it. They have to file a application which is very lengthy and asks for personal information. You have to have medical documentation supporting your claim either you can get it yourself or social security for it for you. Even if your DR. says your too disabled to work it will not get you the benefits, social security is the one who decides if a person is disabled under their rules, and often times people are denied. The person will then have to appeal the decision , and if denied again appeal. Many people try to get benefits for years and years and still keep trying. Bi Polar can be a serious mental health condition which could make a person too disabled to work. It is not easy to be approved for back problems either. Their are very strict rules to get social security benefits and the majority are turned down. It is true that some people work under the table while on disability which they are committing fraud. A person receiving benefits is not getting a high amount of income, especially with SSI. They are better off working , but if they absolutely cannot work at any job do to being disabled they can try to get these benefits. a person has to wait two years in order to receive medicare , and a person on SSI can get medicaid as soon as they are approved. In some States you cannot have food stamps while receiving social security benefits, If you know people who you believe should not be having these benefits report them , social security will investigate these people and make a determination , and possibly terminate the benefits. Not all people on SSDI or SSI abuse the system.
