Realistic Fiction Story Ideas

Realistic Fiction story ideas...?

OMG.. great question.. im like a totally big on writing stories for fun, i already have 4 going on that i havent finished yet :P.. im going for making them a full book.. but that's like a far stretched dream :P

random idea thought of while writing this answer, u can use them, idk:

ROMANCE, COMEDY, DRAMA
1) a religious muslim girl, tired of distrimination and wanting to avoid being distracted by guys, applies for an all girls college, but while going to school, she constantly notices the principal's son, who attends a near by all guy's school.. one problem: he's religious jewish! first she didnt think she was interested in him, in fact, they were bitter enemies mostly because of religion, but that turned it into love/hate because they realized they have more in common than they could imagine..

k.. so that doesnt sound like a comedy, infact its really heavy, but u can write it in a light humor.. w/e..

COMEDY
2) Jenny hates her life, she hates her school, and even her parents.. wat can a senior in high school do? she runs away, how obvious, right? she's almost 18, so she thinks its the smartest thing to do! apparentely, it wasnt very thought out.... she's BROKE.. what u suppose to do about that? she does the only thing she thinks is the best to do, she gets a job at Kroger! so where should she live? in their bathroom.. where does she sleep? on the bench outside.. where does she wash her hair? in the bathroom sink.. and drying it from the hand drier.. pretty sad life, but she's determined to be completely independent until she realizes that her life wasnt as bad as she thought....

FANTASY, ROMANCE
3) in a world where people have a disformed view on supernatural creatures, Natalie, an average elf tries to live a normal life. since the 3rd century, mystical creatures have hidden from humans because there was too much disagreement and just hard to co-exist.. Natalie, from the view on elves, isnt much like wat a human would consider elves; she has bueatiful appearance, normal ears, but wat makes her stand out is her feet out of all things. they arent feet, their half fins! not like mermaids, they can walk on 2 legs, but they also have extra power on the water.. while also hiding this extra body fuction, she can do magic, based on spells, and mind directing... wat can she do when a guy from her high school saw her feet that one August 23rd?

I need realistic fiction story ideas?

Well, what else are you interested in?

There is no such thing as a writer with no ideas, just one who hasn't spent anywhere near enough time thinking. And I'm pretty sure that to have writer's block you actually need to have a plot in mind to begin with ;)

I think you just need to think more. You don't *need* ideas now, so what's the harm in waiting? Spend some time thinking about it yourself. Think about anything that might make a good story. Listen to stranger's conversations and ask yourself what they do, where they're going, what life they have. Make a story out of it. Think about a dream you've had. Make a story out of it. Think about a topic you've seen on a soap opera that you'd like to investigate more. Do the research on the topic and make a story out of it.

Needing an idea and asking other's for it does not make you a good writer. Being able to turn everyday scenarios, dreams or mere ideas into a story makes you a good writer.

What is a good realistic fiction story ideas?

and 1) tries to kill them 2) tries to kill the neighbors 3) thinks the neighbors are abusing thier kid, or 4) thinks the neighbors killed the kid.

if none of these work, ray Bradbury says he just lists a series of nouns, and once he's done brainstorming, he picks one out of the list and sees where it takes him. Ex: The Ravine, the Skeleton, the Carnival. All of these eventually became titles and inspiration for some of his most famous stories.

David Morrell (man who created Rambo) has a written conversation w/ himself. that's how he eliminates writer's block.
He also writes that the only thing u need for a story is conflict. His formula is "plot= conflict + motivation". that's all there is to it. Someone has a desire--doesn't matter how trivial--and someone or something else tries to stop them from achieving it.

It’s just that simple. a man wanting to paint a house can be as compelling as a woman wanting to be the first astronaut to land on Mars so long as you dramatize how important the goal is to that person.

most other good stories start w/ a secret that someone is trying to not reveal. think up a secret that someone told you, fictionalize it, then write about it. change any telling characteristics, of course. or just come up w/ something that if it happened to you, you would want to keep secret

Realistic fiction story ideas?

You should probably do something with the twin thing. I'd forgo the sibling and maybe only have two friends. One of the twins is probably better liked (Sierra?) and Abi acknowledges it, but is bitter because of it. Sierra might date boys and Abi gets a crush on them and is insanely jealous that no one ever likes her and they're always comparing her to her sister. (they'd have to be identical of course) Maybe Abi cheats with Sierra's boyfriends, and Sierra finds out Abi is the reason of all her ruined relationships or something. Sierra, being a good person though, and inherently better than Abi, forgives her twin because if the boys had been good for her, then they wouldn't have cheated on her, especially with Abi. And then Sierra dies and Abi feels like the whore that she is. yay.

How to come up with fiction story ideas?

You just contradicted yourself. You said you have tons of ideas, but they don't go anywhere. Yet you say you could write like crazy if you had a story. The real problem is you're not investing your passion in any one story idea.

Jot down the ideas that you already have. Don't stop to think about them, just write. Look them over & see which ones appeal to you the most. Put these on a separate page. Next take each idea & develop a storyline using only a few words or sentences as they come to you Include snippets of dialogue, imagery, etc. Don't agonize over them, be spontaneous w/ your thoughts. Narrow the list to one or two ideas that intrigue you the most but also have real possibilities. You can do an outline from this as some people suggest. I prefer to keep brainstorming because I want as many variables as possible in front of me in case the plot takes an unexpected twist or I have writer's block. This doesn't have to be done all in one sitting.

You could try reading different newspapers for ideas. Listen to conversations around you--while shopping, riding public transportation, in waiting rooms. Ask yourself "What If" & apply it to a situation or person. People watch in parks is another way to get ideas.

You can't force yourself to write; it has to come from within. You can do a sterile screening of websites, certainly, but will you invest as much time as if it came from your fertile imagination? Relax & enjoy the creative process.

I admire you for wanting to write a novel, even if it's only for yourself.

Ideas for names for a realistic fiction short story?

Great, I love naming characters. Try to name your characters with a name that "fits" with their behaviour and purpose. It can be anything organic, or anything that pops into mind. What I have below are just suggestions, but it all depends on you the names fit your characters.

Main Character:
Owen
Brooklyn
Sarah
Dakota
Lessianne (Leh-see-anne)
Cassandra
Julia
Laura
Ella or Elle
Hope
Ceylon

Best Friend:
Serena
Vanessa

Leda
Rebecca

Little Brother
Joshua
Martin
Luke
Tyler
Perry
Socks
David

Dog:
Tobi
Toto (Swahili for "little one")

Name him after something in the park, anything symbolic would be best

Hope it helps!

Any plot ideas for teen realistic fiction?

It's great that you're enthusiastic about writing and I know exactly what you feel like because at your age I loved writing as well. I still do. I think, though, that you might want to live a few more years to learn more about the world and life before you start trying to write long stories. It really helps to have lived a little before trying to write as though you're another person.
I couldn't read your one on teenink because it wouldn't work, so I can't say anything about that, except that the plot is very recycled. It's good that you tried, though. Also, one of the great things about creative writing is trying to come up with your own ideas, so maybe try that instead of asking others online. It can be hard, but it's much more satisfying when you know you've made up the storyline.

What are some realistic fiction story ideas for starters?

There are various “themes” for writing your story available here: 101 Common Book ThemesI’d suggest picking a theme and creating a situation in which that theme will be prominent. Then create some characters that might not fit the theme so well, or struggle with coming to terms with the theme. There’s your conflict- they need that theme in some way, but don’t have it or don’t understand it.I’m not giving up my ideas, since they’re mine and I plan to work with them. And I doubt that anyone will. But this can help you create your own ideas.Good luck!
