Really Freaked Out. I

Does ageplay freak you out? I'm really weirded out.

I think lesser degrees of this have been prevalent in popular culture for decades, if not centuries — Mario Puzo’s The Godfather (the book, I mean, now, not the film) includes a bit where protagonist Michael Corleone, spending a year in Italy to escape his enemies, woos, weds, and beds a much younger village girl (Apollonia), and, late into his wedding night, Michael sits in his bed realizing that “there truly was something to the peasant belief that intercourse with a young virgin was markedly different and sacred.” Michael goes on to have a marital relationship with Apollonia which is quasi-father-daughter (not patronizing, as such, merely a wide difference in life-perspectives), until her untimely death at the hands of Mafia assassins.To some degree, this rings familiar in greying, dignified Colonel Brandon finding a new lease on life with his young spitfire Marianne Dashwood, or a Confederate officer returning to his plantation to find a marriageable young filly decades his junior, or even Plato/Socrates taking companionship with young girls (or boys) half their age. (This last was so widespread as to be an accepted cultural practice.)So, no, none of this stuff is as blatant as “dress up as a toddler/baby and do X” — but I feel like the same root concept is at work underneath both societal phenomena.

Do babies really freak out if you shave your beard?

One friend told me her baby was a little upset when his father shaved. My husband tended to grow a beard in the winter and then shave it off in hot weather. Our first son was born in early spring, and so his Dad still had his beard. About six weeks later, he shaved because the weather was getting warm. Our baby seemed very puzzled. When my husband spoke, his voice was very familiar, so the baby would look toward him and just stare. He knew his Daddy’s voice, but the face looked strange. I can’t say he was really upset, because within a couple of days, he quit staring and returned to his normal friendly behavior. It probably depends on the temperament of the baby.

Do we need to be really scared and freaked out about global warming? Will we never be able to fight it?

The hoax of global warming is about to be exposed. Greenland just reported 2016 as being the coldest summer in 40+ years and 2017 is shaping up to be even colder. New Zealand just reported devastating cold temperatures that wiped out many crops and snow has been reported in South Africa.Man probably does have some influence on the climate but probably like a gnat on an elephant. Past volcanoes and uncontained forest fires contribute more global temperature influences than anything man can do.We need to use energy as efficiently as possible without feeling guilty for using energy. Birth rates go down when a society gains economic prosperity through the use of energy. A stable population will ensure we use the Earth responsibly for the foreseeable future.The flip side is that global warming is not the catastrophic event many make it out to be. Warmer temperatures will increase rain which will reduce droughts. Warmer temperatures will also make places like Siberia and Northern Canada and Greenland more hospitable.

Are girls really freaked out when you approach them in the street?

I have never, ever seen a high value man of substance try to pick up women on the street. It’s standard socially inept sex-pest behavior. There is a time and a place. For many women, the street is not it.If you are asking for directions. It’s fine. If you are asking for directions as a ploy so you can get a date, it’s creepy and not at all subtle.I’m not a dog to be whistled at. I don’t respond to “Hey, come here!” Again, not your dog..Coming too close and violating my personal space is not going to go over favorably.I really, really dislike strange men trying to chat me up on the street when I’m walking somewhere minding my own business.I had a young guy corner me in a near empty subway car. He kept asking “You single?” “Got a man?” He did not look like one to back off with the “I have a boyfriend/husband” excuse.. So I responded, “I have 5 kids. Would you like to support them financially?” He slowly backed away.Recently, I was walking on a beach sidewalk during daylight with lots of people around. A guy started yelling “Heeeey, what’s your name?” I just kept walking.. he started doubling down. “Whaaat, you don’t have a name??”He repeated the same with other women who were in no way interested.I’ve had men stalk me, try to force eye contact by jumping in front of me after visibly following me for a couple of blocks.Some guys are fairly innocent and are just people with limited social skills looking for a girlfriend because they have no clue what else to do. Some are outright threats. Often there is no way to tell the difference.Sometimes a simple “I’m not interested. Please leave me alone.” will get a man calling you an “f’ing b*tch” - you can’t win.How would you feel if larger men would approach you on the street all the time when you are busy walking somewhere or are just going about your day, minding your own business? How about if they started to follow you for blocks?If they started “complimenting” your body, would you really see it as a compliment?
