Really Sad Songs Similiar To Say Something By A Great Big World

Sad slow songs similar to Say Something by A Great Big World Ft. Christina Aguilera?

What is your opinion about the song "Say Something" by A Great Big World?

The first time I heard someone (an acquaintance) sing that song, I thought it was nice, but so so repetitive. I was at a soiree and the singer had just had a breakup. He sang with such emotion that I started imagining he was addressing someone in the room and felt as though I had intruded on an uncomfortably vulnerable moment. The beauty of a lot of songs is, I think, their unfiltered raw emotion, but Say Something fully exploits this rawness. It's simple continuous repetition of "say something, I'm giving up on you" creates a hope and expectation in the listener that is never fulfilled, because the main phrase never changes. With each line, the desperation for closure - for this unnamed person to say something - becomes more urgent and more tinged with resignation, until it borders on unbearable.I think it's a beautiful song and the line "anywhere I would have followed you" is especially lovely on the recording. But for the above reasons, I'll only listen to it in small doses.

What's the story behind the song "Say Something" by A Great Big World?

If you have watched the music video for the song, you can see three storylines play out.  One about a kid, one about a couple, and one about an older couple.  I recall hearing an interview with them where they said that they chose three stories for the music video because the song could represent numerous things and fit different situations.  The music video is below if you wanted to give it a watch.

What is the actual meaning of the song "Say something, I'm giving up on you"?

One of My favorite song. This is the song that I used to listen when I was  suffering from the pain of being rejected.(I feel proud  to say this because this is the main reason behind what I am  today- More confident, much happier, more joyful,  a bit humorous and much more).Although, I still like to listen to this song because of Lyrics and much more.Actually now I am listing while writing this answer. The actual meaning of this song -"Say Something" is a slow-tempo indie pop piano ballad which talks about a breakup, where the lover is implored to make a statement that could potentially reverse plans, with the singers expressing humility, sadness and regret." Source Wikipedia.PS: I could write about what I feel about this song, But I think this is  the best  suited answer for this question.Thanks.

Sad, melancholy songs that you like?

I've been feeling absolutely terrible for the past few days, so much crazy stuff has happened and I just feel this awful aching in my heart. I feel like if I could just sit down and cry for a while I'd feel better, like it wasn't bottled up inside anymore...so I'm making a list of songs to just cry to (I know it sounds pathetic but music helps...)

Are there any sad-sounding, melancholy or emotional songs you could suggest? I'm not a fan of oldies, country or rap...I really like Iron & Wine, Radiohead, Switchfoot, Jimmy Eat World and stuff like that...but please just tell me all the sad songs that are meaningful to you and I'm sure there will be some that I like.

I just feel like having an epic bawl-session, that's all.

Thanks so much,
Gennifer

"Life is pain and everything we really want hurts you really really badlyYou should go to the movie theater, watch The movie: Bohemian Rhapsody.
