Really Seriously Question About Stool Help

Is this normal? Serious question please help!?

My friend is extremely constipated and hasn't been able to pass a bowel movement in almost two weeks, She has been trying to poop but says it hurts too much and started bleeding! She can't get off the toilet because it's stuck half way out and we don't know what else to try, is this normal for people to get this backed up when eating at night?

SERIOUS QUESTION!!! My poop and farts are really bad smelling?

It's only a problem if you care about what other people think! Stink it up - you'll know who your real friends are!

Serious question about stomach pain and odd bowel movements?

I have had stomach pains for years, been to my family doctor, been to a gastrointestinal specialist, had a colonoscopy, and tried altering my diet trillions of times. The only answer I've had is 'irritable bowel syndrome'. So I've been trying to research on my own to get to the bottom of this. I'm either constipated for days on end, or I have near diarreah eppisodes. For the past coupple of months I've been having pretty severe stomach stabbing pains and my stools are about a foot long and no bigger around than my pinky finger. What could this mean? do I have some sort of blockage? I apologise for how gross this topic is, but my digestive issues have taken over my life and i'm bound and determined to figure out what is causing them. Does anyone have any ideas what could be going on or what I could do to help normalize myself and stop the pains?

Is blood in stool very serious?

One of the questions nurses are trained to ask is just this. Steaks of red blood are a positive indicator of a bleeding internal hemorrhoid in the sigmoid section of the large intestines. As hemorrhoids they come and go, no humor intended. They really do come and go. The problem is NOT related to any esophagus, stomach or duodenal (gastric) bleeding. That blood would be a melenic stool, which is a BLACK tarry color always. The color of the two are that diagnostic. If the problem is infrequent and resolves it self, no problem. However if it continues and the blood amount is more than a few light streaks, it is time to get your bottom to the doctor.

My bowel movements are puffy. (Serious question!!)?

This is a serious issue...

I'm a 21 year old female. I smoke about 1/2 pack of cigarettes a day, and I also smoke the herb daily. I've been doing both of these activities for about 3 years (cigs) and 1 year (herb). Never had this problem before. For the past month or so, my poop has been "fluffy", or "flaky". Basically, as soon as it comes out, it falls apart. I used to have regular, solid bowel movements and now I poop 3-4 times a day and it's always weird. HOWEVER--- I did go on a serious regiment of Percocet and Xanax in January for post-operative tonsillectomy recovery (about 12 days). I was constipated for about a week and took some stool softeners-- I just didn't think they would affect me for a month afterward.

Any ideas? Serious responses only, please.

Which is a more serious problem: diarrhea or constipation?

Many people die from intestinal infections and inflammation which results in diarrhea if they are not treated. It is very nerve-racking to have a condition in which you may lose control of your bowels. Strangely enough if one is very constipated liquid stool may ooze around an impaction and cause similar problems.People get very cranky when their anus hurts from frequent stooling or fissures caused by dry hard stools and the need for digital disimpaction or enemas. People can have severe abdominal pain from intestinal clogs caused by bezors which combine hair and compacted food to slow passage of fecal material. Some people are obsessed with having a daily movement and believe that they will become toxic if they do do move their bowels daily, but kidney and liver function if healthy, takes care of many issues continuously and daily defecation is unnecessary. Some folks cause fluid and electrolyte imbalances through excessive laxative use.Few people die of constipation if it is not a sign of an obstructive tumor or dead bowel, so I would have to say diarrhea.

What causes Green Poop? serious?

For the past week or so I have had extremely bright colored and dark colored green poop. I have had green poop before on occasion but it was much lighter. This is extremely weird. I have been goin thru a lot of stress lately and have no been eating right and stuff. I was thinking it could be due to that and maybe dehydration???

What can my friend who has serious constipation that neither food nor laxatives will help do?

Age, general condition, comorbidity, mobility, exercise, meds (many induce constipation)? What measures has been tried, in what doses, for how long (just once or twice won’t work!), how often did he have stools with and without those laxatives? We usually get the stools going by taking enough strong laxative, e.g. Epsom salts magnesium sulphate, 30 grams in a big glass of luke warm water, once, maybe twice, until the stools come, while starting with something to keep it going: psyllium husks (Metamucil®) 4 tablespoonfuls in a very big glass of water daily, or if this isn’t effective, polyethylene glycol e.g. MiraLax 15 to 50 grams a day with lots of water. If this fails some people have to resort to taking 1 to 2 bisacodyl (Dulcolax®) of 5 mg each whenever the stools don’t come.
