Rear Projection Tv Help

How to adjust rca rear projection tv?

you're not suppose to turn the tv on for a few hours after it's been through a big move because you got to give the bulbs time to settle. we sold 2 rear projection tv's and emphasized this to our buyers and they followed directions and tv's are getting some great use.

callibrating a tv isn't easy. see site below

How turn a rear projection tv into a front projection tv?

there are rear projection CRT, DLP, HDila, LCD and LCoS tvs. Each are totally unique. None are designed to do what you are asking, but all could be done. You are probably needing to cut the top of the tv off, remove the mirrors and screen. Of course there is a good likelihood that the picture will be backwards.

The CRT would be the hardest and almost totally improbable. You need to deal with focus and convergence since the three colors come from different sources and angles. The rest of the formats all come from one lens assembly so only focus will be the barrier.

Some DLP and LCD may have the ability in the service menu to correct the reversed picture, but I cannot help you without a brand and model #

dangers in CRT is the 30,000 volts to the picture tubes. All the rest involve high voltage to the ballast and lamp as well as bypassing the interlock switches. Plus the fact that you will need to cover all points where the light is escaping from various areas in the light engine.

The amount of work involved doesn't;t justify the fact that you can buy a small projector used for a couple hundred bucks. And when your done this is going to be ugly. and you will need to get to the remote sensor and the keypad.

HELP! I cracked my Rear Projection TV Screen!!! Can i take off the hard plastic?

ok so i got a crack about 1ft by 1ft in my tv. Its a 50 inch, and its a rear projection. I took off the whole screen, and on the back it isnt cracked, but in the front the hard plastic is. So this means there is a layer behind the quarter inch plastic? so my first question is... what is that layer under there, and second, can i take off the hard plastic so its only the other layer in the back? The other layer is as thick as maybe 5 pieces of paper stacked together. The layer behind the hard plastic isnt connected to it, it just sits in front. So will this distort the image if i take off the plastic? Or will nothing happen. I feel like the plastic is just there for protection.

PLEASE help!

Calibrating menu help for 1997 RCA p46811lv rear projection TV?

I have 1997 RCA rear projection big screen tv. All of a sudden i noticed the picture was WAY off. i think my son may have messed with the front panel buttons. i see everything triple... in red, blue and green. I know it needs to be calibrated or whatever it is called. Usually you match the lines up on some tvs to do this. We do not have the original remote. I tried to find it somewhere in the Menu but cant. Actually, i found it once and it said adjust projection colors or something and had options of GREEN BLUE and RED. I did the green first and the tv kinda flashed or something and now that entire thing is completely gone out of my Menu. (meaning the adjust projection color option... its completely gone or at least i cant find to save my life.) Can someone help me please!! I want this to be fixed before my husband gets home.

another thing is i am kind of wondering if this might have caused. i had a dvd playing and when the movie was over it automatically switches back to the main menu screen on the dvd player like all dvds do. well i let it sit like that for a few hours. could that have made my picture all messed up?

Help! RCA Rear Projection TV HDTV Model D52W14 will not power up..green light flickers then goes out?

Worked fine as long as TV was kept on..would ultimatly power up after repeated attempts...Our cat stepped on the power strip last week, and now despite multiple attempts..TV will not power up..green light flickers for a bit, then nothing for 5 minutes, then will flicker on and off..regardless of using remote or front panel on/off switch...Thanks.

Are rear-projections TV bulbs universal?

The bulbs differ. I cite myself as a primary source engineer who worked with inFocus on the development of DLP light engines and I can tell you with absolute certainty that different bulbs were and are used. Whether the reason is cost, sourcing issues, vertical integration concerns, etc, is all dependent on different manufacturing companies which bring DLP display products to market. There are thousands of DLP display products. Try searching for replacement bulbs for some different products and you’ll quickly find a wide variety of bulbs.

Can a rear-projection TV be disassembled safely?

I know there can be a nasty charge in the capacitors. There's good info here on discharging them:http://www.repairfaq.org/sam/crt...Search for "Safe Discharging of Capacitors in TVs and Video Monitors".For help identifying capacitors check out the information and pics on wikipedia.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cap...Please be careful. Those capacitors can pack a punch.Good Luck,Matt
