Reason Why You Hated Dawn In Btvs

Buffy The Vampire Slayer- why does everyone hate Dawn?

A. I love Mulan. Love your avatar.

B. Dawn was very similar to Buffy, understandable since she was made from Buffy, basically. Sure she was whiny and she had plenty of reasons: teenager (and all that goes with that), not really human, evil goddess out to kill her, her sister died to save her, her sister came back and didn't want to be alive, and so on. People often hate change and Dawn was a big symbol of the changes the series was taking. I remember being rather annoyed at the time, but she quickly grew on me. Besides, I liked Michelle Tractenberg from her Harriet the Spy days-- and she was whiny then, too. So I liked her almost from the beginning.

Who is your favorite fictional vampire and who created the character?

I want to say Dracula by Bram Stoker, for his flexibility and genius, and the fact he was genuinely scary in the book, but really it’s Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.Created by Joss Whedon for the second season’s episode School Hard, Spike or William the Bloody (Awful Poet) is one of the greatest characters that Whedon ever wrote. Played by James Marsters with the swagger and sweetness of a young James Dean, Spike was funny and loving, kind and insightful, and utterly evil when he wanted to be, though too fond of “Leicester Bloody Square” to end the world the way Angelus would.Spike’s opening episode was stone cold fantastic and included such genre-puncturing lines as:If every vampire who said he was at the crucifixion was actually there, it would have been like Woodstock.”Again and again, Spike shows up, dominates the screen, steals the show, gets hit in the head with an axe or a chip, and disappears for a little bit. Only to return to enliven proceedings whenever things got a bit dull or Buffy was a bit too secure in her relationship with Angel, Riley, or the Scooby Gang.He also turns up in series 3 for possibly his best episode, Lovers Walk, where he rips Angel and Buffy apart all over again with a few short sentences that did more than hours of their emo moping:“You’re not friends. You’ll never be friends. You’ll be in love til it kills you both. You’ll fight, and you’ll shag and you’ll hate each other til it makes you quiver, but you’ll never be friends. Love isn’t brains, children, it’s blood. Blood screaming inside you to work its will. I may be love’s bitch, but at least I’m man enough to admit it.”As if that’s not enough, he saves the world a lot.So yeah, Spike forever.

Why do girls hate fat boys?

As much as people rant about the fact that it is about the inner beauty and the nature and people are naive and stupid in going for the outer appearance, lets just cut the crap. Everyone cares about the what the other person looks like and then they make a judgement. it is natural and perfectly normal. The way it works is that people belong to certain levels based on their looks and a girl who is a 9 would never go for anything less than a 7. She will consider 7-9 guys and would extra points to 9+. It is the same with men. Nobody wants to drop down. See, I am not counting the so called 'inner beauty' factor here. It is probable that a 4 would be better for her than a particular 9 but there do exist so many 9s that she need not worry about missing on the 4. In fact, she will continue looking for a 8+ till she finds 'the one'. And this process is completely fair. As far as 'hating' is considered, I think it is a strong word and in my opinion, girls don't hate fat boys. They just don't pay attention to them or do not give out signals.

What are reasons why most people would dislike or hate a person?

I vehemently dislike a former friend of my boyfriend. He is tremendously disrespectful of women. He is a liar and a user, he is always talking about how much he makes at work, but always needs to borrow money. He took money from us to pay the rent because we were staying with him, and made his truck payment, all the while leading us to believe the rent was paid. He became a tyrant, trying to goad my boyfriend but pissing me off instead. When my boyfriend was gone one day he started hollering and yelling, making derogatory remarks. Finally I had enough and stood up to him, I mouthed a bit and then I suggested we go to the front yard so I could whoop his ass, he declined. I have no use for him, I wouldn't cross the street to piss on him if he was on fire.

If you're kidnapped by your most hated fictional character, and your favorite character is out to save you, how screwed are you?

Ok, so I have been abducted by Anastasia Steele or Bella Swann… film or book version I don't care, both suck.I have coming to my rescue One of the following, 4 categories are film, literature, video games, and tv:the T-800 from Terminator 2, Blade (yeah the 2nd & 3rd films suck, who cares I still love them), or Rick Blaine (yes, from Casablanca… I can be sentimental).Scot Harvath, Mitch Rapp, Court Gentry or my favorite choice Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden. The first three are action spy thriller style novels and the 4th features Chicagos only professional wizard, you can look him up in the yellow pages.Link (Zelda series), Kratos (God of War), and the Hero from the Fable series.Buffy the Vampire Slayer, William the Bloody aka Spike from BtVS, Joey Tribbiani from Friends, Omar from the Wire, and Dean Winchester from supernatural.Honestly, even if we are talking about post vampire Bella I'm still pretty confident. Most of the individuals in my list have battled demons, monsters and some even gods. I mean if you count joey’s sex addiction and Rick’s burgeoning alcoholism as demons then yeah, everyone But Omar!I feel like more harm will be done to me psychologically having to put up with such poorly written and even more poorly acted caricatures of young women. I honestly would mostly cheer for a quick rescue or to die quickly. But overall I think I just demonstrated wholeheartedly how much of a GIANT NERD I am… and I feel very little shame.

Anyone else think Buffy the Vampire Slayer sucked after season 3?

Buffy never sucked-- this is just a prime example of how people react to change. When situations change, particularly big changes like high school ending and college starting, people balk. Think about the show itself. There were still amazing episodes in the remaining 4 televised seasons, plus the comics season that follows (I still haven't gotten around to reading season 9). Putting Dawn in the show was disorienting at first, but I think it was a necessary way to inject new blood, create a sibling rivalry conflict that would add some new interest to the show, and she really became an interesting part of the group as time went on. If you watch the episodes at the end of season 6 and in season 7, she becomes a much more useful character. In seasons 4 and 5, she usually serves as the damsel in distress, as well as adding the sibling rivalry to the mix and a lot of teen angst that vanished when Buffy and the gang graduated high school.
At first, the whole thing seemed so crazy to me, but she grew on me as the series wore on, as did Riley, so that I was sad to see him go. All the characters became like friends to me and everything seemed to fit together like there was some crazy and beautiful plan.
I definitely recommend the show. It's wise and witty and wonderful and I watch the whole show over and over.

Why does everybody have problem with Dawn Summers?

I don't have a major problem with her either... however, I can see where some people are coming from... there are always things that you don't always like about characters, even if you like them most of the time. That is, of course, if you hate the character, but usually characters that people hate are written that way on purpose...

On more specific terms, I think that most people had a problem with Dawn because she was retcon'ed. This means that she was added to the show and Joss Whedon created a storyline for her being in the show, yet overlooked the fact that she was NOT mentioned at all in the previous episodes. There was one possible mention of her early on, but it was in a dream sequence with Faith and Buffy, and not specific at all... I think she was annoying at times, but she was a teenager that was thrust into some pretty tough situations AND she had Buffy as an older sister. I would have acted the same way! I personally think that Dawn was a good thing to add to the show, to keep Buffy grounded to the real world and give her something to be responsible for, you know, to keep her human.

I think the show went downhill when Spike was no longer Mr. Badass. The chip was good for a while, but they should have found a way to get rid of it and make him evil again. Spike with a soul was super lame, and him falling in love with Buffy was even lamer... And I hated when he went to Angel. The only good thing about him on Angel was the dialogue... everything else was crap.

What do you hate seeing in movies?

One word: TypecastingGet a Muslim to always play “The Muslim terrorist”.The same faces in the same placesHeroine roles are generally played by white men to appeal to a white audience.Take for example:The “bad ass” soldier yelling oora while combating terrorism. The protagonist is usually a white actor travelling to an “uncivilized shit hole” to save America.Stars of action movies are generally whiteIt’s time for a changeI think it would be refreshing if the new James Bond was an Indian. Don’t you think? But the Indian is always…This guy.The “white” Indian AKA the Hollywood goofy Indian AKA ApuAnd then you have the ArabAKA the angry terrorist AKA the vilified antagonistSeems like we’re moving at a snails pace when it comes to properly portraying people from eastern cultures. Most acclaimed actors and entertainers are either black or white (and sometimes latino) while Middle Eastern, South Asian, and East Asian actors take the back seat. In fact, let’s be honest, they’re literally emasculated and made a laughing stock of.Every youngster growing up in a western country, regardless of her/his ethnic background, should be able to watch a lead actor/actress who comes from the same ethnic background on the big screen. Imagine growing up never to have witnessed that.I hate seeing visible minorities playing out the same roles in almost every movie, reinforcing negative stereotypes. Think of the effect it has on society (It indoctrinates the masses). It gives fuel to racism and makes it seem as if it were acceptable.Although we’ve come a long way from the days of blackface, it’s apparent that western media is still very Ethnocentric.

Any one have ideas for a 'Buffy' Monologue?

I am looking for ideas from 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' to be used for monolouges. If you can think of scenes from the show that can be used for a one person, perferablly, one minute monologue, that would be just what i am looking for. (The scene does not have to be a minute long i just need some ideas) Thanks!!
