Receiver Which One To Buy

What receiver to buy???

They both look identical in power and features, the onkyo is cheaper.I have 2 onkyo recievers and am happy with them, one is about 9 years old and the features on it are almost as up to date as my new one aside from the sat radio and the hdmi capabilities.I am sure you would be very happy with either one of them they are both good amplifiers.personally iwould go with the onkyo since they have proven their worthiness with me.ps i push them hard too and have no problems.

Where i could buy ZN416E AM radio receiver IC?

this is an AM receiver Integrated Circuit. i searched a lot to buy this. but i failed. no shops in our locality supplies this Integrated Circuit. Please help me to find this.

Should I fix my receiver or buy a new one?

You might check it for blown output fuses. If you open the case and look at the main circuit board, you may find a coupla-few fuse holders and, if any of them are blown, take them to an electronics store (or even the electrical section of Home Depot) and get new ones. They only cost a couple bucks, if that, and that might be the fix.

Otherwise, shop around for repair places. Some smaller, independent shops will give it a once over for a nominal charge (like $25), then give you an estimate for the repairs. $134 just to look at it is ridiculous.

Where to buy marantz receiver?

marantz is not one of those brands you will find at the average Big box store (best buy etc) - find a local HIFI store and get your price - that i really your only choice unless you want to gamble on EBAY

Can I buy an ar15 upper receiver from a gun store and walk out with it the same day?

I figured since it’s not the serialized part of the gun but I just want clarification before I waste my time going to a store while I’m in Vegas. I’m a California resident and I have an already CA illegal upper but it’s set up like a hunting rifle sort of speak and rather than buying new hand guard, front sight, rear sight and taking off my scope id rather just have two different upper receivers for two different purposes. An iron sights carbine and a hunting rifle. I plan to swing by and pick one up before driving home. Will I run into any problems or is this just like buying high capacity magazines which even cabelas will sell me.

Should I buy an amp or receiver for my outdoor speakers and could you recommend one for me?

"Someone told me that what I buy must have 6 ohms power because that's what the speakers are. "

Total bull by someone with no electronics background.

All speakers vary their impedance. A 6 ohm speaker leaves off the "6 ohms nominal" (this means average).

Go to the Yamaha site and look at the specs for a RX-V6 series receiver. You will see that it lists different power numbers for different impedance speakers:

Dynamic Power per Channel (8/6/4/2 ohms) : 130/170/200/240W

This same receiver (and most name brand receivers) can handle 8,6 and 4 ohm speakers.

It is true that the closer to zero you go - the more careful you must be to not crank the volume or make sure you have lots of vent space around the receiver - but they will all work.

If you have outdoor speakers - you can get away with just a stereo. But many AV Receivers have a feature called "Dual Zone". It has separate connections for stereo speakers in the back to feed outdoor speakers or speakers in another room. If you got one of these units - you can add 5.1 speakers to watch movies in your living room, AND drive those outdoor speakers for parties.

"Will you please make a specific recommendation for me"

The lowest model in the Yamah line that has powered Zone B speaker outputs is RX-V573. It's SRP is about $550.

You can probably find some cheaper AV Receivers from Onkyo - but make sure the Zone B connections are speaker connections and not RCA jacks. I looked at one Onkyo for $199 that had a Zone B feature - but the connections were RCA plugs and in the fine print it said you needed to use these to feed an amp for the second-room speakers.

Dont be afraid to search your local Craigslist. I got a used RXV-6 series receiver for $150 and had to buy a remote for $35. But I can add the calibration microphone, BlueTooth adaptor, etc. So you can get good used gear if you know what to look for.

Hope this helps.

Can my sister buy me an AR-15 Lower Receiver as a gift? Texas..?

Yes you can, and there's no need for you to do any paperwork to "become the owner". Only a very limited number of states (such as California) require any such non-sense. In Texas, she gives you the receiver, you now own it. There is no national registration of serial numbers to owners.

Fatefinger: You're mistaken about the lower being registered as a handgun. It's up to the manufacturer to register the lower as a handgun or a rifle (it's literally an either-or thing), but the VAST MAJORITY of AR-15 lowers are registered as rifles. Simple reason: if it's registered as a handgun you're breaking the law if you attach a buttstock to it. On the flipside, if it's not registered as a handgun you can't attach a barrel less than 16.5" (unless you go through even more paperwork to get it registered as a short-barreled rifle).

Physically there is no difference between a rifle AR-15 lower and a handgun AR-15 lower, but there is a legal and paperwork difference, and as I said - most of them are registered as rifles.
