Turcom Tursion graphic drawing tablet isn't working on gimp?
You say the driver installs fine - but are you using the most recent driver available for the device? Check on the manufacturers website to see if there is an update. If you are using the one that came with your tablet it may be outdated. Computer operating systems get updated quite often, and some updates can break older drivers, so you should always check you are using the most recent. GIMP does support pressure sensitive graphics tablets, so there's definitely something up. Have you also checked the extended input devices are enabled within GIMP itself? Click Edit > Input Devices - you should see your device/devices listed, it should be enabled and set to "screen". If it's not listed then it means the driver is not compatible with GIMP.
Drawing Tablet Recommendations?
I'm looking for a tablet that I can use on my Thinkpad computer (PC). I'm kinda interested in getting one that shows my drawing on the tablet, but that's not neccesary. What do you guys use/recommend?
Do I need a graphics tablet for 2D animation?
If you are a person who can draw or have fine arts skills to sketch and draw then you need a tablet for for better drawing. Otherwise you can use mouse to draw.Most of the people who are not proper sketch artist draw by using mouse only those who are good with hand drawing use tablet.Some people directly draw as do graphic designer over PC other first draw on paper and then redraw after scanning it on computer.
My Turcom TS-6610 Graphic Drawing Tablet will not work.?
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers numerous times, the tablet worked fine until I left it where it used to usually sit (In a dry, mild *not too hot or cold* room, on my desk) for about two weeks, due to lack of interest in drawing, when I plug it in, the green light flashes, but when I press ANY buttons or try to use it as a mouse or to draw, nothing happens. Any suggestions? I've already contacted customer support.
Do drawing tablets/graphic tablets come with their own programs?
The Wacom Bamboo Capture ($99) comes with Adobe Photohsop Elements (not the full version but it will do) and also with Autodesk Sketchbook Express http://www.wacom.com/en/Products/Bamboo/... Alternatively you could use GIMP which is free. Works with Wacom tablets. http://www.gimp.org And so does Inkscape: http://www.inkscape.org - also free Wacom make the best graphics tablets.
