Red Ribon For Vocatinal Diploma

Is it better for a young person to go to university, or to train for a trade such as plumber, beautician or chef?

Thanks for the A2A from Sheena Hocking for the question Is it better for a young person to go to university, or to train for a trade such as plumber, beautician or chef?In my layman’s opinion, it is better for the vast majority of people coming of age to try (to the best of their own and their parents/guardians’ abilities) to follow their desires and interests related to the world at large and their place in society. They should be exposed to as many job opportunities and societal service careers as possible - hopefully during their early, formative scholastic years (re elementary) - so that by high school, whatever choices they have expressed an interest in can be explained/expounded in depth in terms of preparatory curriculum choices and amount of individual effort needed.A lot of high schools in the U.S., while preparing the student body ostensibly for college/university still offer vocational exposure to students that wish the experience, but many kids here still miss out due to budgetary cuts and competing academic matriculation philosophies. In a perfect world (of education), our young people would be exposed to as many different ways to contribute to society (by way of work or service) as their individual intellect and interests could handle. However, we do not yet have that “perfect educational world” available anywhere on the planet, so such preparation is usually left up to a country’s national pedagogic priorities and local, cultural inclinations.Ideally, the young mind would be introduced to every possible craft and profession - from musician in a band to medical tech to astronaut, from woodworker to glass-blower to engineer, from factory widget-worker to scientist to factory owner, and every work/service/job in between - and choose several to pursue and prepare for.

If I fail in one subject and pass the other 5 subjects in CBSE, will it be okay?

Absolutely O.K. The subject you failed wont even affect your percentage. Remember, all 5 of them should be full subjects. P.E. wont count. For example-1.Pass in Bio, Phy, Chem, Eng and Maths. Fail in Comp. Final result-Pass.2.Pass in Bio, Phy, Chem, P.E., English. Fail in maths. Final result-fail.Also, you will be disqualified for the fail subject. That means, you cannot claim admission in a university for the failed subject if you pass other subjects and pass overall.Second, you shall still be able to play professional sports and demand sports quota if you fail P.E. It simply does not count.Hope this helps.P.S.-Please check the facts about CBSE circulars properly before believing teachers blindly.
