Reenlisting Back In The Military With A Re-3m Code

Reenlistment with a RE-3M code?

I was just recently considering heading back in to the USN. I served from 2007-2011 (4 Years) and was discharged at the EOT (End OF Tour) with an honorable discharged. Right before I was suppose to get out I was Deployed to Bahrain and during our over the hump party (Half way through Deployment) I received and ARI ( Alcohol Related Incident). Long story short I went to Captains Mast and My CO Reduced me in pay to an E-3 and that because he knew I was getting out he was going to give me or ask that I have an RE-3M code(which I do have).

My question is that am I wasting my time and others trying to pursue reenlistment? I have been out for over two years and I just contacted a recruiter and he said that they are looking at everything with a fine comb now. He said that he gave my info to a recruiter who deals with prior service members and I am just waiting to hear from him. But from what I read online to get a waiver for this is near impossible and with the military downsizing it seems like I shouldn't even try to go down this road. Any and all advice would be helpful, Thank you in advance.

Info from my DD214 Special Additional Information (23-29) I just put the answers not questions
23. Released from Active Duty and Transferred to Naval Reserve 24. Honorable
25. MILPERSMAN 1910-104 26. MBK 27. RE-3M 28. Completion of required Active Service 29. TL - None

I recieved a RE Code 4 from Navy, can I get iback nto the military?

I recieved an RE Code 4 from the Navy for going UA. I have been out for a year and would really like to get back into the military but I was wondering if there's any way to get a waiver to get into the Navy Reserves then go back to active, or if the Army is basically my only option if they can waive it? And also, does the Navy usually give RE Code 4 for going UA ?

Will an OTH Discharge hold me back from joining another branch of service?

Hi ok here is the truth that you need to know first of all bascially just accept that your never going to be bale to get into the Air Force or any componenet fo it ever. Forget the Navy and the Coast Guard totally. Now the Army ok forget Active Duty and maybe forget the Reserves and your only branhc and component that will give you a serious consideration is the Army National Guard because they are the easist with waviers. Now what you need to START doing NOW is rebuilding yourself. Your going to need as many reference letters you can get, your going to have to show good posituve tihngs that show you have made improvements in your life such as gettign a college degree or a maybe even more then one also graduate school looks GREAT as well. Do volunteer work that can be documented and shown get certifications that show your intelligent. Stay out of trouble with the Law and finally get yourself a pychological evaluation to show and rpove that your NOT crazy or nuts or anything such as that. Also bascailly anythign else you can add that will show positive things. Also this is going to have to take time to wait on and don't expect to be enlisting in the Army National Guard anytiem soon so start getting use to waiting because it may take a few years honestly with this. Now when you finally do start going back to a recruiter if oen turns you down just go to another one and keep going to another if they keep turning you down because eventually you WILL find one that you can use who will work with you on this! Trust me on this and don't listen to anyone else who says otherwise.

Ok now from now till when you go to see a recruiter do all those good things and when you ahve a bunch of good things to submit sned it into the Discharge upgrade board. There is some belief that they will change a OTH disharge to a general under honorable conditons discharge if you are good for the remainder of years that you would have stayed enlisted had you not been discharged, which that soudns like a fair deal to me honestly. O now if they approve that then it will make things easier for you when you back to enlist again. Oh and also when you get refence leters or letters of recommendation have the people who write the letterd fill out the following form as well and attach the form and letter together http://www.dtic.mil/whs/directives/infomgt/forms/eforms/dd0370.pdf

How do I get back in the Corps with an RE-3P?

Im stuck, the Marine recruiters said that they're overloaded and that they don't need new recruits for another 5-6 months, if even. I have done everything required on my part to be cleared to apply for the waiver, and I have waited my required 2 year separation. Anybody have any suggestions? I live in a metropolitan area, so everybody has the same gunny, and its kinda difficult when that gunny is determined not to let you in.

Is it possible to have 2 different MOS' in the US military within a 4 year period?

Q: Is it possible to have 2 different MOS' in the US military within a 4 year period?A: Yes. It is possible. There are several factors that could allow or disallow for this to occur. The MOS training has to be of a duration where you will have a certain amount of time left on your contract. Is there budget for the training? Is command willing to sign off on you getting said training? Is there a military need? You can carry more than one MOS as a time. I went to 97B school. Then later I earned several other MOS through correspondence courses. Eventually I was staffed as a 96B when I was promoted and there was no open position for an E6 in my MOS. My last couple of years, I think I held MOS slots where I was not trained. The only real limiting factors are budget and time. And finally, if you pissed off someone in the chain, they might make you take an MOS you hate, or they might prevent you from getting the MOS you want...But short answer is: Yes. You can have two or more MOS at any given time.

Can I join the army with a re 8?

you won't get back in anywhere, sorry. you are prior service now, or at the 'best' "prior experienced" and they will fill all their slots with non-priors these ays, and i don't see that ending anytime soon. at least not under what we have left with Barry in the white house and then hillary after him. so you are done.

this is a 'one shot' military these days. make the most of that shot, because there will not be another one is what i tell everyone. you had your chance and your mind was not on the military, it was on being homesick.

congratulations, you are a civilian "forevermore"
