Which bike should I buy the new Pulsar 200AS or Yamaha FZS FI V2 ?
Both are different bikes, there is a large difference between both. 1.Yamaha bike has Fuel injection supply. Every modern car has it. It is good when its working. But if it goes wrong, will create big problem. Pulsar has carburetor fuel supply which is common and easy to repair. 2.Pulsar has 4 valve engine which proves to be very efficient. Yamaha has standard 2 valve engine. The 2 extra valves in Pulsar allows more air with the fuel, hence it gets more air to burn the fuel providing more power. A small but great idea to give more power. 3. Pulsar AS 200 has 6 gears compared to 5 in Yamaha. 4. Another difference is engine cooling. Pulsar AS 200 is liquid cooled and Yamaha is air cooled, which is good in both bikes. Pulsar is more powerful hence need more better cooling which is given to it. If you compare a 200 cc engine with 2 valves and another 200 with 4 valves, the engine with 4 valves will give you power than the same with 2 valve.. You should compare Yamaha with Pulsar AS 150 and not the 200. You will get all features of 200 except Liquid cooling in Pulsar AS 150. AS 150 is air cooled. You get slightly more power and a carburetor engine in Pulsar AS 150. Which will be worth. A simple engine with more power. In short, Bajaj has given all the great features and technology to the Pulsar. Pulsar AS 150 and 200 is far more better and very efficient. You should test ride both these bike (or 3 of them) and choose the most comfortable for you. This is more important than specs. Test riding the bikes may change your decision.
What is the ideal idle rpm for a 135 cc pulsar bike?
800 RPMs.
What is the engine life of a 150cc Pulsar bike?
although i personally don’t own a pulsar, pretty much all my biker friends have owned one in their life. I can confidently say that is depends on luck and how rough you use it.bajaj have had very inconsistent quality in the past. i can see some of the older pulsar ug3 still running with over 130,000km on the odo. at the same time some of the new ug 4.5 bikes needed a cylinder kit replacement after 60,000km.realistically you can expect 70–80,000km of use without major engine issues but even then parts are so cheap that you could replace the piston kit and have it back to new and use it for another 50,000km so quality is not a huge problem.
Which is the best 150cc bike, the Pulsar 150 or the Gixer 160?
pulsar ns 160The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 borrows its styling and bodywork from its elder sibling – the Pulsar NS200, and that’s not a bad thing at all. In fact, the NS160’s perimeter frame chassis is also shared with the Pulsar NS200. But it gets a different swingarm, different suspension, and different size wheels, and different brakes. The NS160 gets the same muscular streetfighter look as the NS200, with an aggressive looking front end and sculpted fuel tank with large new-age decals on the tank extensions shouting out ‘160’.The oil-cooled 160.3 cc engine makes 15.2 bhp at 8500 rpm, and 14.6 Nm of peak torque at 6500 rpm, and that’s transmitted to the wheels through a five-speed gearbox. At idle, the engine purrs with a nice hum and the underbelly exhaust emits a nice enough sound. What is immediately apparent though is the low- and mid-range grunt the bike offers. The Pulsar NS160 pulls cleanly from low speeds, and that is certainly welcome in traffic and city riding conditions. The suspension is slightly on the softer side, so the Pulsar NS160 isn’t as stiffly sprung as, say the NS200, but that means it offers a more comfortable, plusher ride and that is a bonus for the daily commute, and in-city duties. In traffic and within the city, the bike steers with precision and will certainly satisfy a lot of riders going over undulations, broken roads and the like.
Which bike is good to buy: FZ v2 or Pulsar 150 DTSi?
I would strongly suggest you to take the test rides for complacency and only then go for purchase. I've got my hands on both Pulsar 150 and FZ 2.0 . I'll start with pulsar and try to give you a brief idea of both.Pulsar has been there for 15 years and the design is somewhat same. On the other hand FZ v2 is new with looks and design.Roughly pulsar gives you around 15bhp power while FZ gives you around 13. This is not prominent, yet you can feel it when riding. Both the bikes employ almost equal specifications, they only vary by fuel system, fuel mileage, and price. FZ has a PGFI (Programmed Fuel Injection) system and pulsar has a Carburetter controlled injection system. With blue core technology, YAMAHA promises upto 14% increase in fuel efficiency and engine performance.Talking about mileage, pulsar is the winner with average 55kmpl . While FZ stands with 40-45 range. but again, mileage depends on optimal speeds, less use of clutch, and on time servicing.Pulsar 150 will cost you around 80K (on road) and FZ, around 90K .Verdict : If you're concerned about mileage and price, then you should go for Pulsar 150 DTS-i (Not the AS 150), but if you want to commute with a stylish and something new, then FZ/FZS is the option.Make sure that whatever you buy, maintain it like your own baby.

Bajaj launched a sports bike in the 150cc segment christening it as a Pulsar 150 early at the beginning of 2000s. First let me tell you about the purpose of engine oilEngine oil protects the engine against corrosion, wear and tear to increase engine’s life and for smooth and better performance.Prevents metal to metal contact by thin layer of oil between moving and stationary parts.Engine oil cools the engine by not losing energy.Overall engine oil is to have better, smooth performance, increase engine’s life, increase fuel economy. How to check/change engine oilMost 150CC bike's engine oil should be changed around 2k to 3k km. but engine oil do change colour, lost its viscosity (Thickness of oil) even if you don't rode it to 10k km. so change engine oil in the interval of what mention in your owners manual.1. First, start your bike, wait for it to reach its ideal rpm (around 1.5k rpm, I'm not sure about pulsars ideal rpm. refer owners manual).2. Go for a short ride.3. Turn off engine and wait for few seconds.4. Place your bike in a even surface.5. Check oil level as show in pic below. Oil should be between these small two lines.6. If you found the engine oil level below the second line do top up or check if the engine oil is running out of juice.7. Open the engine’s nob using common plier. (Refer the below picture).8. Touch the engine oil and rub your two finger slowly, separate those two fingers to the distance of 1 to 2 mm. If you see a layer of oil between your fingers then your engine oil can still serve the purpose If you can’t find any layer its time to change the oil.But I recommend you to change engine oil within the period limit or km limit mentioned in Bajaj's owner’s manual.
