Remember When Cr7 Cried When Portugal Lost The Euro 2004 Final To Greece

How does Cristiano Ronaldo compare to the all time soccer greats?

Ronaldo has been in a league of his own with some unpredictable goals for Real Madrid and Portugal. He’s at 6 goals at the moment in terms of world cup. Klose stands at 16 as of now. Remember that Ronaldo scored 15 goals in a Champions League season. Well I’m not saying that he’ll score 15 this world cup or something like up.But if he continues to be in the same form, I have a strong feeling that he’ll finish this WC with having 10+ international overall. That is definitely a pretty good achievement placing at the likes of Pele, Zidane and several other players.Apart from that he has been one of the best in the club soccer too fighting the likes of Messi. He has 5 Ballan d’or.He is definitely up there in the top 3 or so. I believe he stands second in terms on all time goal scores for national team.

What were the most emotional moments in sports?

This story is about Derek Redmond at 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Having led his country to gold medal in last year 4*400 mtr. relay race at the world championships he was one of the favourites to win a medal. As expected he stormed into the semi finals without much difficulty . He was sure he will qualify for the finals. But sadly destiny had something else planed for him.He started the race very well. But some odd 200 mtrs. from the finish line he pulled his hamstrings. He hobbled into a halt, and then fell to the ground in pain.He watched his opponents finish the race while he was still on the ground. As stretcher bearers made their way to him he knew he had to decide. So despite the pain he stood up and started to hobble on the track. He was their to finish the race.Suddenly, a large man pushed through the crowds, fighting the security. I am his father he declared.“You dont have to do this”, the man told to his weeping son. “Yes I do” , derek replied. “Well then we will finish it together” his father said. The father wrapped his arms around his son and helped him hobble through the track.Shortly before the finish line, he left his son to finish the race with a standing ovation from a crowd of 65,000 .He may not have won the race but he faught till the end and finished the race . Perhaps this is what matters the most. Despite the pain he gave it all motivated by the love of his father who picked him up when he was down.So the race will be difficult. Always you will not be the winner . But please dont quit . Someone will be there to help you. You just need to stand up and begin the race again. Its not the win which matters the most . Perhaps giving it all that you have matters the most. This incident really made me very emotional and at the same time also motivated me to be determined to finish the journey that i have started.

Did anyone look at Ronaldo when he was young and say 'this kid is going to be a legend'?

It was the great and legendary Sir Alex Ferguson who saw an unknown 18 year old kiddo run riot among his defenders, that predicted he would be a legend and signed him immediately in less than 24 hours after the match.Juventus needed badly the signature of the young Portuguese winger.Arsene Wenger in his usual manner first saw Cristiano Ronaldo's potential in late 2002 before Sir Alex Ferguson even bought him in 2003.But Arsene Wenger still regrets not signing him immediately when he saw him.Same thing with Lionel Messi, Wenger has an eye for young promising talent but failed to capitalize on it.After Sir Alex Ferguson saw Cristiano Ronaldo's exploits in 2003, he was the first to proclaim that the Portuguese Kid was going to be great. When CR7 came to Manchester United, his two deadly habits were; rolling on the floor when lightly tackled, or complaining bitterly when things didn't go his way.Sir Ferguson would toughen the young Ronaldo and make sure the coaching staff gave him no preferential treatment. It was this tough love from the greatest coach ever that molded Cristiano Ronaldo into the superstar he became before Real Madrid broke the bank and signed him for a world record £80m in 2009.Conclusion:Though it was Arsene Wenger that first spotted Cristiano Ronaldo in his early days at Sporting C.P .But it was Sir Alex Ferguson that said ‘this kid is gonna be a legend' and he went out his way to make it happen. That's why Cristiano Ronaldo is forever indebted to the Manchester United legendary coach. Thanks for reading.Get more football news from my new website (footballvirus)Welcome To FootballVirus | Football News, Fixtures, Scores, Results, Transfers And Predictions

Who are you supporting in the 2018 FIFA World Cup?

I was originally supporting these guys ( Obviously)USMNT- US Men’s National Team.Image source: GoogleThey ended up like this in the qualifying stageImage Source : Google. They could not even make it to the 4th spot which was a minimum required to have a shot at the World Cup. The top 3 qualified automatically. What a complete disaster!. Honduras made it to the 4th spot and had a playoff with Australia to see who gets the final green light and Australia it was who qualified for the WC.I went for my second choice after USA tanked in the qualifying campaign-Image Source : GoogleForza Italia!Guess what? They failed to qualify as well . End of my childhood hero Gigi Buffon’s career .To answer the question, Who are you supporting in the 2018 FIFA World Cup?I would say, particularly nobody. I really have no picks and will watch as a true blue neutral. Since I like underdogs, I will want some team from Africa or Asia doing well at the World Cup. I am tired of the big dogs from Europe dominating FIFA events . I would be happy to see a non European team win but I am not particularly passionate about the results. The best I hope is that it will be an interesting and a fun World Cup to watch. The best part of not qualifying for the World Cup is you are saved the heartbreak of the World Cup exit during the world cup itself . LOL. Smart move , TEAM USA! Very smart. Thank you for lowering our expectations and saving us massive disappointments. We don’t have to chew our nails for a penalty shootout or fret about getting out of the group stage. We just are gonna sit home and eat our donuts and pizza and beer and watch 31 teams end up being disappointed. LMAO.

What is the one memory you're fond of from your childhood?

The memory I am going to share is really close to my heart and I really cherish it. I believe it is my oldest memory.I was born and raised in a small rural village in Punjab, India. My dad was a farmer and my mom a housewife. When I was 3 years old, I was enrolled in a local school for children along with my twin brother. The very first day of school, I remember my mom asking my dad to drop us off at the school. On our way we demanded our dad to get us candies and not drop us off at the school that day. Being a loving dad, he happily obliged. :) When we got back home, my mom asked, "Why didn't you drop the kids off at the school."My dad replied, "The kids didn't want to go to school today." Mom: "...And you got them candies! You are going to spoil them"Dad: "Its OK! they are just kids" *Kissing us*Why is this memory special to me? It reminds me of the dedication and effort my mom put to get us brothers educated. It displays my dad's love and affection for us. His desire to fulfill all our wishes. It is also one of the very few memories about my dad that I remember.4 years later my dad passed away in an accident. I remember that night when my dad was brought home from the hospital. I was startled by the noise of people and fell off the bed. I saw my mom and grad-mom weeping. I was confused and scared as I didn't know what had happened. Every time I look at my dad's picture, I am reminded of his love and ambitions for us. I want to make him and my mom proud.
