Remember When Man United Fans Cut The Team

What's gone wrong at Manchester United FC these 3 seasons?

First and foremost, you have to remember, that Manchester United was going through a transition!Sir Alex Fergusion, one of the most successful managers of all time, was retiring, after over two decades of service with this club. When someone has been at the club for so long, and won so much, the club is used to his way of thinking, his demands, and functions accordingly. His absence was bound to create a vacuum at the top, as the manager for a club like United is very important. Getting the results, managing egos, succeeding Sir Alex, it was going to be very tough for the next manager.Further, there were many players who simply joined United because they admired Fergie. He could get the best out of them. So many players would have lost their motivation to play somewhat, when he left the club.He left in 2012. That time, our squad needed to be bolstered up. David Moyes came in, and we really did not add any good players to the squad, except Juan Mata towards the end of season. Further, our highly reliable back four, especially the partnership of Vidic-Ferdinand, ended, and Patrice Evra was sold off too. These players had been here for a long time, and it was a mistake selling them so fast. Thus, our defence became wobbly, our attack was jaded, as RvP was aging, injury prone, and Rooney was off Colour. To correct this, we brought in Louis Van Gaal. Ideally, it was too much to ask of Moyes to succeed Alex Fergusion, with the same expectations. He should’ve been given either more funds, or more time.Move on to LvG, and he tried to correct things. Firstly, he solidified defense, brought in some great squad players like Blind. Our defense improved, but the our attack failed to deceive. Di Maria wasn’t used properly, and he anyways didn’t wish to be in England. Falcao too did not really work out. Our defense though became better, as De Gea started showing his true potential, and back 4 was somewhat settled.Last season, it was mostly the injuries to key players. Luke Shaw the most critical of all. We could not use our first choice full backs throughout the season. LvG, though tactically sound, at times didn’t play players in their preferred position, as he tried to find out the best combination. Now, our back and mid are relatively settled. One or more pacy midfield/wingers and we will surely be better off. Hoping for better days with Jose, though I hope our academy players get chances to impress him and playing time on the field!GGMU!

Manchester United Fans: What do you think about Phil Jones?

Can he partner Chris Smalling? Absolutely. Will he partner Chris Smalling? Probably not.Phil Jones arrived at Man Utd for a fee of £16.5m fee, which is a lot for a teenager. I truly believe he deserved that price. Having captained Blackburn at the age of 18, he was a tough defender who could bring the ball out from the back and had versatility to play various positions including RB, CDM (remember how efficiently he marshalled CR7 at the Bernabeu?). He has the ability to captain both club and country. You know, they say that versatility eventually leads to complications in the long run. Here, the long run was not even required. The injuries. Dear God, the injuries. He's perennially injured, or so it seems. If he were fit from the start, there would've been no need to play Blind in the defence. His latest injury was a malleolar injury, suffered at the start of Feb. He has recovered from that and has played in 3 u21 games. To put it mildly, he was mediocre in each. Phil Jones criticised for another poor Under-21 displaySure, he's regaining match fitness and trying to get back in the first team, but there's no way he'll be able to do that on his current form. As much as it pains me to say this, he may not have a future at Utd. It may seem harsh, but Utd have been in this situation before and have been burned badly (Owen Hargreaves, I'm looking at you). Also, his most powerful admirer, SAF, is gone and we know the clout he had over the team.I hope he gets back in shape and rediscovers his form. I hope he gets back in first team contention before the end of the season. His chances for Euro '16 are practically negligible. I hope he uses that time to develop himself. More importantly, I hope he stays injury-free. A run of games in the 1st team will certainly help him, just like Smalling in the previous season(what a beast he's turned out to be). I hope he has a future at Man United. Thanks for the A2A.

What is it like to be at a Manchester United home game?

Really depends on a couple of factors.First off, the game itself. My first game was against Crystal Palace and I recall it was also Fellaini's first game. Since he was our only summer signing, the place went nuts when he was warming up and went even more nuts when he was announced. OT is always packed to near capacity and let me just say that 75K people can generate a hell of a lot of noise. But the game wasn't really all that close, it wasn't against one of our traditional rivals, and we didn't play beautiful football that day. That said, there were moments where the stadium came to life and that was pretty incredible. At the same time, though, it was somewhat muted, and that brings me to factor #2: where you sit. Not being very sure about acquiring tickets second hand, we opted for one of the VIP packages. Had it rained, I suppose we'd have been fortunate to have a tier over our heads, but that also means we were sitting with a bunch of other fans in similar situations. When I joined in some of the chants at the top of my lungs, I definitely got a few stares (which boggles the mind really) from my relatively sedate neighbors. The die-hard local season ticket holders don't sit up there, and if you want to immerse yourself in the songs, chants and overall loudest parts of the stadium, you really need to be in the Stretford End. I watched that bunch a few stands over with just a twinge of envy I'll admit.Overall, it was still memorable, especially since we won. I can only imagine what it would be like to be in the Stretty for one of the marquee matches. One day.

Manchester United Fans: What do you think about Jesse Lingard?

Behold the most elegant player at MANCHESTER UNITED lol, i’m just kidding (has to be POGBA or MARTIAL) the majestic ‘JESSE LINGARD’ .Almost a year ago a fellow told me and i quote ‘ Jesse Lingard is the most shit player I’ve ever seen don the Devil insignia’ , at that time i had nothing to defend the lad he displayed small bursts of pace at times , tried to move into spaces nothing special though. But i saw a desire in his play the same kind of desire that you see in players at the start of their careers , trying to break into the first team and at 25 he was far from that point. You can question Jose Mourinho ‘s tactics at times but no one can dare question his judgement of character , he gave the boy small chances , subbing him at times to fill the shoes of any player in the 3 man attack line of MAN UTD. Although he scored a crucial goal in the final of EFL cup but nobody gave 2 s**ts because UNITED had a lot of other established names in the squad. But what nobody noticed was the hard work he put into his game.If we compare his stats of the 2017-18 season vs the rest of is career you can a clear analogy , his exponential growth in terms of match time , touches ,key passes and obviously his goals . In this season I’ve seen him pacing down the flanks , playing 1-2 touch football near penalty spots ,running frantically during counter attacks and the most important his superb (in my opinion the most improved aspect) off the ball movements and can be inferred as a decent attacking midfielder . His recent goals are all magnificent not to forget his shear luck.Jesse Lingard’s case sums up the perfect irony in modern football, i.e-“millions of pounds spent to acquire players and still the man in form emerges from the academy” or in hindi “bagal me chhora shehar me dhindhora”.

Are English fans really suggesting UEFA favors Spanish teams yet the CL finals will held in Wembley again?

Like I said don't insult people intelligence, is Wembley the only nice stadium in Europe? What about the Dortmund stadium who holds 80,000 people. I remember in the WC Shalke (Gelsagerken) had one of the most modern and beautiful stadium I've ever seen or even Herta Berlin stadium. There is the Camp Nou, Santiago Bernabeu, Atletico's stadium has been revamped and looks very nice, San Siro, Juve stadium, Marseille's stadium, Stade de France, Ajax, benfica or Porto's stadium etc

Don't you find it funny how anti-manchester united fans always contradict themselves?

First they claim all refs are biased in their favor. But then they want SAF to be reprimanded because he keeps arguing with referees for not giving him the calls he wants. If he always argues with refs as you united haters claim, then obviously the refs aren't always biased in United's favor. Your logic just isn't there. You can't have your cake and eat it too and claim both arguments to be true as one contradicts the other. Though I suppose you united haters would also love to drive on both sides of the road at the same time as well.

Why is Louis Van Gaal facing so much criticism from Manchester United fans?

I think it's a double edged sword at the moment. You can't really call for his sacking given he's led us to just 1 point off the top of the league, but also he's spent close to £250 million on players. But there's no clear cut "philosophy" as of yet. The problem most fans have, including me is that I don't know what to expect from LVG's Man United. They can turn up one day and brush aside the likes of Liverpool, City and Everton or they'll be a dud infront of goal and be bossed around by faster, fitter sides likes Palace and Arsenal. There's no doubt it takes time but he's had enough time. United generally come good in this Dec-Mar period every season and I hope history repeats itself. But if it doesn't and we fail to take advantage of these so called lesser teams, we'll pay the price come the end of the season. United are out of the Capital One Cup and the F.A. Cup has a long way to go. They certainly can't win the CL trophy, so realistically the PL is the best chance for LVG to win silverware and prove his much maligned philosophy. If not, he may be in danger of losing his job after spending so much. But on the bright side, LVG has done fantastic work promoting our youth players which is in line with United's history and tradition. And for that we'll be forever grateful. It's very harsh of us supporters to expect the same swashbuckling, counter attacking football we played under Fergie from LVG or any manager for that matter. It's just not going to be the same ever again. Period. Moreover, we don't have the personnel for that style of football. Memphis isn't consistent, Martial is a teen and Wazza is past is prime. LVG has got the midfield and defense right. Surely he'll get the front line firing before he decides to relax on a beach with a Pina Colada in Portugal. We Stand by Our Manager. Red Till I Die. GGMU.

Do fans of teams who play negative football (see Chelsea, Inter Milan) actually watch football or just check the result?

Let me remind you...Chelsea did not need to win this match. They could have even settled with a draw.Further, They are in the final stages of winning the league. So no manager in the right mind would play offensive or do anything stupid at this critical point of time. What they did was the right thing!! Mourinho is far smarter than you,Mr. Art Club Fan. Premier league is not some small level competition where you could do errors and get away with that...You lose a match and the manager may have to clear the table. You are too much judgemental..you know that..Watch a few matches of EPL and you will know that The result is sth that matters at the end of the day.Remember during half of the season, Manchester United were dying for those 3 points and now when they are in the top 4..All of a sudden,The topic of "Beautiful Game" came out of nowhere.People like you are the true hypocrite. You guys are the people who cant stand an underdog winning.Chelsea did what they had to do..Winning the league matters the most. After 10 years noone will remember the match between Chelsea Vs Man Utd...They will only remember how Chelsea outrun all the clubs from the very start and won the league! You my friend, need to see some more matches before you accuse anyone.

Why are u deluded man U Fans thinking that you gonna win the CL next season lol!!!?

I don't know how you're gonna win it with **** performances a weak team and a weak manager who will lose the dressing room in time trust me. Jose mourihbo has expired his gone. The only reason why man U are still in Europe is they didn't play a big team that could match them and beat them yet they struggled agaisnt all the teams in Europe. It's sad it really is and it will continue to be a sad story even your griezmann that u want will be a flop remember my words

Who was Man Utd Fc’s best ever player?

The question needs to be clarified to get near an answer, in what way is he the best player ever?Duncan Edwards is now but a memory but he could defend and attack. He could play in any position and if I remember rightly even played at centre half and centre forward as well as left half (left midfield). He was a powerhouse and was England’s best at 21. Unfortunately we will never know just how good he could have been.George Best was almost a similar story. I think though, people only remember the flashes of brilliance we saw from him. I remember watching his first game in the youth team. He received the ball near the opposing corner flag and with two shrugs two defenders fell on the floor. I had never seen anything like it; it seemed he was running with his shoulder grazing the turf. However by 21 he was struck down by fame and drink. From then on he declined and groans would come from the terraces when he tried to dribble through the whole opposing team. Again we will never know just of how good he could have been.Who gave the most to Manchester United has to be Bobby Charlton. He rarely had a bad game he could also play in many positions and played regularly as left winger and centre forward even goalkeeper once. He settled in midfield and like the previous two scored some fabulous goals.I don’t believe Cantona was at the same standard as those above and although speckled with talent neither were any of the ‘Class of 92’.Next up is Ronaldo. Memories can be blurred with time but this man was so powerful and bristling with talent. He had everything that an attacker should have. Speed, powerful shot with either foot and a terrific header of the ball. I think he just frightened defenders. This man must have been the best United ever had. Whether Edwards or Best could have been better is for us to debate.None of these have played here recently, so I will give another opinion of the present players in that David de Gea is the best goalkeeper I have ever seen but how can you compare?
