Remove virtual hard disk windows 7

Will a fresh Windows install remove all viruses on my PC?

“D drive is infected” - a drive cannot be infected. You can only have files on drive D that are infected. I will assume those are cracks, key generators, or pre-cracked games. Only exe and dll can have viruses, not pictures, movies or music (unless it is exe files that has faked icon to make it look as a picture, movie, song or something else). The only way is to delete those. There is no point cleaning the system if you keep infected files. An antivirus program will do that for you (or quarantine it, it is the same, file is gone). Then also the system files on C drive will be infected because of those crack files that you ran. A clean install of C drive will get rid of those. If those are not pirated files, then you may have gone to a xxx website (or other website that was hacked) and clicked on faked “flash plugin needs to update” or “codec is missing” popup that was actually a virus, you downloaded it and installed it. There is no chance it modified system files without your consent in form of UAC dialog, asking if you are sure you want to run it.I have not seen a virus in over 10 years, unless someone brings me a computer with it, and you may be surprised, but most are MacBooks. Pirating content is just looking for trouble but otherwise it is just common sense not to download and install anything from sources that are not 100% credible. Update everything manually from the original program site. invest an extra effort to make sure you are on original site of the program developer, make sure you read all steps of the installation process and don’t agree installing anything prebundled with a program. So far Windows Store apps are 100% safe, so look for all programs there first. You can always ask on quora or other website what is the best and proven program for x purpose.

Installing windows 8 on a bare hardrive.?

The only way you would need a previous version of Windows on your computer is if you bought the Windows 8 UPGRADE as opposed to the 'full' version.

If you can get hold of a Windows 8 'full' version, then you will be able to install it on a 'bare' harddrive.

If you can only find the UPGRADE to purchase, then it's very easy to quickly install a clean version of Windows 7 (it will not be activated). Select the Windows 7 version appropriate to your operating system here: http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads...

It is in '.iso' form so you will need to burn it to disc. Simply install it normally and then once that is done, insert your Windows 8 installation disc and you will be able to begin upgrading immediately. I had to do this with my computer as I wiped the harddrive for a fresh Windows 8 install only to discover that I had to install Windows 7 first! It worked fine for me. If you wish to remove the leftover traces of Windows 7 once you have installed Windows 8 over it, follow these steps:

1. Open Control Panel in Windows 8
2. Click 'System and Security'
3. Select 'Free Up Disk Space'
4. Select or deselect additional items which you want to clean
5. Click the 'Cleanup System Files' button
6. Windows 8 will need to check the hard disk for the additional files to include in the list, but once it’s done, the Previous Windows installation(s) option will be included. Go ahead and select the Previous Windows installation(s) option, because you’ll definitely want to remove that.

Hope this helps, the above steps are not particularly important but it's only if you would like to have a clean harddrive! :)

How to force remove virtual drives?

I was using ultraiso and it stopped responding and then 2 virtual drives were stuck and could not be detected and now ultraiso is useless for virtual drives. Plus I used this other program that didnt remove them when it shutdown (which I expected it to because there was no remove option). I usually dont mess with virtual drives and stuff so I don't know in detail how this stuff works.

How can I remove Windows 7 and install Ubuntu without losing data?

Back up data to a non-system (e.g., external) driveErase internal (system) driveInstall Ubuntu on internal (system) driveRestore data to the newly installed UbuntuWindows does not have a concept of separating the system from the data; it all lives in a single partition. There is no way to remove the OS and preserve the data.It is possible, but risky, to do this without an additional drive, presuming the data takes up less than about 40% of the drive:Install Ubuntu in parallel to Windows (split the partition).Move the Windows data to the new Ubuntu partition.Delete the Windows Partition.Extend the Ubuntu partition into that space with a tool like GPARTED.Reset the GRUB bootloader. This risks data loss. Get an external drive for backup. You need one anyway. Make 3 copies of any data you care about.A third option, depending in the size of the data, would be to copy the data to a cloud service like Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive prior to the system change. This has the bonus of putting a copy of the data in the cloud.A Windows-preserving alternative would be to just install as a dual boot system or else add Linux capabilities in parallel to Windows with Cooperative Linux or Cygwin, or in a Virtual Machine with Virtualbox.

How to install Windows 7 onto a USB drive?

Of course you can, the are many ways but this is the way i do it

Requirements to install Windows 7 on USB:

# An USB flash drive with a minimum of 6 GB disk space to install Windows 7 or Vista. You can use a 4 GB drive to install XP.

1. First of all, connect your USB to the machine and format the USB drive.

2. Download VirtualBox portable, double-click on the executable file and extract the contents to your USB.

3. Now, go to the VirtualBox portable folder in USB, and execute the Portable-VirtualBox (.exe) file.

4. From here onwards, you need to follow the onscreen procedure to create a virtual disk and install Windows 7 on USB. Follow the install Windows 7 on VirtualBox guide( here http://www.howtogeek.com/forum/topic/how... ) to complete the process.

5. Once you finish the installation process, you can safely close VirtualBox and remove your USB drive.

What does "low virtual memory" mean on a lap top? what do i have to delete?

First thing to stop your problem is to not to have too many programs open at once. Although you not actually using them they are running in the background and taking the RAM's resources which overspills into the virtual memory.

Another way to help is if you right click on My Computer ► Properties ► Advanced ► Performance ► Advanced ► Virtual Memory ► and change the button setting to "System Managed Size" ► click on Set ► Apply & OK ► The system will now ask you to reboot for the settings to take effect ► click on OK.

This allows the system to be flexable and can adjust the Virtual Memory as required with out being fixed between two parameters. With a bit of luck that should solve your problem!
You also might want to think about increasing the size of your RAM.

How can I format/delete Ubuntu and install Windows 7?

First, you need to obtain a copy of Windows 7... and more importantly, a valid product key for it.  So, just downloading a hacked copy probably won't do.I know what your next question is... where can I still get a copy of Windows 7?  windows 7 - Newegg.comAmazon.com: windows 7: SoftwareGoogle (that's the Google Shopping results for Windows 7)Now you want to know how?Purchase your copy of Windows 7.When it arrives, turn the computer on, immediately open the optical drive door, and put the disc in.  Close the optical drive.  Turn the computer off by holding the power button down.Turn the computer on and mash F12 when you see the Dell logo on the screen.Choose to boot from the optical drive instead of the hard drive when the boot menu comes up.Follow the onscreen instructions to install Windows.  When it asks you where you want to install it, and it shows you all the partitions available, select each partition and delete it.  When there are no more partitions on the drive, then proceed to the next step in the installation. You will be prompted to Reboot. With another computer, go to http://support.dell.com , either enter your model or let it detect your model, and download the Windows 7 drivers for your laptop.  Install them.If you were asking where you could get Windows 7 for free... you can't.  Not legally.
