How I could turn off camera shutter sound of Moto G3 Android marshmallow?
Hi, thanks for A2A. No. You cannot turn off camera sound in Moto G3 after upgrading to marshmallow. Before update , that sound option in camera is provided by Motorola camera software. But they doesn't give that feature to Motorola camera. This is a known problem. But it is NOT a bug because most pre-installed camera apps in Android will remove the shutter sound option due to possible legal issues and some implementation changes in Marshmallow. Its not sure whether Motorola will change mind to bring this feature back.A simple workaround is to lower the ringer volume. The camera shutter sound volume follows ringer’s volume.You can press the volume down button when there are no apps are opened. This will adjust ringer volume.If camera shutter sound does not follow the settings, you may try to clear cache and clear data for camera app in Settings– Apps–Camera.In other way, try to use third party apps!Hope it helps!

As I recall, disabling the shutter sound is illegal in Japan (apparently upskirt pics are a problem) and the iOS builds for that market enforce it. An analogous restriction occurs in the middle east with encrypted peer-to-peer messaging.I don’t know if it’s feasible in either case to restore a US version of iOS firmware to a non-US phone or you must actually have hardware with the ‘right’ part number(s). Technically it’s a violation of local law and circumvention may break additional laws.
