Renewed Bucket List Ideas

I'm just so confused about life! Please help?

It's crazy. I simply don't understand anything. Sometimes I wonder on a boring Sunday afternoon what I am doing here, on this planet. I try to comprehend why anything exists in the first place..I mean I sometimes wonder why all us humans, animals, planets, galaxies, the universe, God exist, and I can't come to a reason. So I wonder what there would be if none of this existed, and I also cant come to a reason to that too - it's as if my mind get f***** up, and all of a sudden, I feel scared, lonely, insignificant.

And another thing, I am in school still so I am learning about loads of different things, and when I learn about it I sometimes wonder 'How are you 100% sure that this is correct?' - It may seem correct to us, but that doesn't mean that that is universely, or ultimately correct.

Argh it's so frustrating that we have just been put on this planet, are expected to live our life, and then die and then that's it. (Not taking into account religious views)

Bottom line, I just find it damn weird and crazy that we are even existing at the moment, I mean why does there need to be a universe?! Couldn't there just be nothingness, but then I guess that is still something. Argh :S

Can someone that fully comprehends me please try to help me make more sense of this?

Thanks

What are the places/destinations on your bucket list that you wanted to travel to or visit, but now no longer want to? What happened to make you remove that destination from your bucket list?

I was recently watching the TV show Super Wings with my two kids, and the episode featured the famous Swimming Pigs of Exuma in the Bahamas. That made me do a bit of renewed research into the destination. After doing that, I immediately decided to strike that place off of my bucket list of places to go visit. That destination was on my bucket list for a long while - I’d wanted to go there ever since I first heard about them back in 2008. What could be better than pristine waters, crinkly sandy beaches, and friendly hogs swimming alongside one? Sounds like heaven, right? Even Obelix the Gaul would be delighted and perhaps not have his favorite Roast Boar while soaking in the joyful sun.Well, I soon discovered that these pigs are not friendly like Wilbur from Charlotte’s Web or Babe from Babe. Nope, these porkers have a nasty tendency to bite…hard! There are multiple accounts of people being bitten on their shapely posteriors by these pigs, including this recent one perpetrated on an Instagram model and influencer [1]. She apparently influenced the pigs to bite her…hmm!Additionally, they apparently like to pee and poop right there in the water - one blogger eloquently wrote about floating turds in the water[2]. That automatically reduced the desirability of the destination for me. I suppose, the pigs don’t want their trotters full of sand, so they treat the ocean like their personal bidets. But the clincher for me is that these pigs are no longer the genuine deal - they’re not actual shipwrecked pigs who ended up swimming around there. A lot of the pigs are just pigs that the locals have picked up and bought to the island to help generate tourism dollars. No wonder, they bite! Anyone would too if you suddenly dump them on a deserted island, and expect them to survive on the scraps of tourists. Reminds me of that civet poop coffee - there too, you no longer get the real thing anymore. Instead, locals have illegally trapped Civets and forced them to eat coffee beans, to generate that famous digested coffee bean.ConclusionSo, experiencing the Swimming Pigs in the Bahamas is one thing I no longer fancy doing. I have no desire whatsoever to have to run hither and thither while being pursued by cantankerous biting pigs. Also, the unmistakable joy of floating in the water while a massive pig turd floats by doesn’t really float my boat. So, no Exuma for me - I’ll happily go to the Bahamas, but not to Exuma to swim with the pigs.

How does a person decide what to do with their life?

Spend a week ‘away’ by yourself in a quiet comfortable place without a phone or computer. After taking a couple of days to relax and ‘clear your head’ by doing ‘nothing’ sit down with a pen and paper and write down all of the possibilities that you can think of on what you would ‘like’ to do in your life -write everything down , no matter how unrealistic or impractical some ideas might seem to be. Take this first rough draft and write it up neatly and then put it away. After a day or so take out your list of possibilities and read through it . Pick out the two or three ideas that now stand out and appeal to you most and write them down again on a separate sheet - discard the original list of possibilities. After a day or so sit down and write down what would be required for you to follow up on the possibilities listed - e.g. resources , study , people ,place , finances , time etc. etc.Put this sheet away for the day and go and do some physical activity to completely clear your mind. On the following day take out your final list of possibilities and read through it carefully and then put it down again. Go and do some physical activity for a couple of hours. Come back to your list and review it again. This time cross out or refine any aspects of your list that need it.Now write out your final list that details what you have decided are the most important things for you to focus on in your life. Write a bullet point plan of what needs to be done , in a chronological order , for you to achieve your goals as set out on your final list of possibilities.Return to your everyday life with a renewed sense of purpose with a much clearer understanding of where you want to go with your life and what you need to do to get there. If you still have doubts in your mind as to what you want to do with your life it may be worthwhile to seek out a trusted friend or mentor to use as a sounding board on how to best approach the possibilities as defined on your list. Working through your final list with someone you trust may give you an alternative approach on how to make your decision on what course to follow to achieve the goal that you have identified.Good LuckJH

I am retired at age 35 with $800,000 but it's a country where salaries are 10% that of the US. What do I do with my life now?

Make a list of things you value. I value knowledge, helping others, and being responsible for myself and those around me. Some people value family - My family is more on an individual, case-by-case basis. My grandmother has a clan of her fifty descendents over for minor holidays; it's clearly something she values deeply. Some people value animals, adopt them, try to rescue abandoned animals. You'd probably have to pay me premium to accept a dog into my life. It seems like an uncontrollable drool and hair machine. Yuck! (And yet you might be thinking of dog cuddles right now, and how a dog would cheer you up). Some people value religion. Some people want nothing to do with it. Some people value leisure, some value work. My coworker said if she could, she would be staying home rather than working. I felt the opposite, I wanted to work and carve out enough time to spend with my kids, but work was very important to keep up. It helps that I have a job where I make a difference daily.  Spend time figuring out what your values are. How would you set up a world that challenges you, makes you happy, gives you something to puzzle about? Does that plan include exercise, social opportunities, family, work, learning new things, spiritual renewal, relaxation? How does your plan revolve around the money you've collected? Do you feel trapped by your money? (I've had to live off of a steady draw of money before, and it was nerve-wracking to me for some reason. I would want to feel like it was an income from an outside source (the stock market), not a stationary pile of my own money, just for my sanity. The good news is that you can live whatever life you want to lead. The bad news is it's up to you to decide what life makes you happy. Read books, or watch movies, or sky dive, or stay in the comfortable indoors, or run a 10k, eat foodie dishes or the same favorite low-key meal every day, it's all up to you!

When my husband an I where reading it, we relized that the book was actually go dog go by pd eastman, with the cover of the party addition green eggs and ham. I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen or if not, what might the book be worth. Its in mint condition and I am really curious as to whats up with the book with the wrong cover. Any thoughts? Again, it is the 50th addition green eggs and ham cover on a 1989 copyright renewed go dog go book.
