Rent In Fort Worth Texas

Advice needed!!! Moving from Cincinnati, OHIO to the Dallas/Fort Worth vicinity.

I second the mid-cities area. I live in Euless, and love it. We have easy access to anywhere in the metroplex. Check out apartments in Euless between Harwood Rd and Mid-cities Blvd. They are all nice, and in all different price ranges. All of the apartments are within walking distance to a great park system with several miles of walking trails, playgrounds, fishing pier, dog park, and amphitheater. We have low crime, and an excellent school district (HEB school district). If you are looking for a rental house, there are usually several in Euless, and in nearby Bedford. As far as things to do, like the other person said there are good museums and zoos in Fort Worth and Dallas. The nearby town of Grapevine has festivals about every 2-3 months that are alot of fun. There is the Fort Worth stockyards that has fun family stuff. You can ride a steam engine, ride a longhorn, a mechanical bull, take your picture with cowboys and indians, and go to a rodeo. The Texas State Fair is in October and is alot of fun, and the weather will be cooler. As far as places to avoid, I would stay away from Arlington (high crime, bad schools),and Dallas and Fort Worth because of the schools. Welcome to Texas, and feel free to email me with any questions!

Do apartments in Fort Worth, Texas have tornado shelters or where do you go?

theres hardly ANY underground shelters in texas.

Texas has solid rock about 3 feet under the surface and makes for building underground shelters and basments very difficult. Tornadoes are not a HUGE problem in DFW; it is at the bottom of tornado alley and we get only about 4 o 5 funnels that touch ground a year and only a few that cause extensive damage (nothing like you would see in the further north midwest). Its not really something you plan your life or living area around. I have always lived in a bottom apartment or known my first floor neighbors very well. Try to get a first floor apartment and if you can't get a first floor apt, make friends with your neighbors and should a storm come, ask if you can chill with them until it passes. should there be a tornado warning that threatens your area the best place (regardless of house or apartment) to go is a closet or bathroom along an inside wall. The bath tub I have been told is the safest. Grab a mattress and place it on top of you. Definitely stay away from outside walls, windows and mirrors. The main thing I would be worried about is hail, almost every storm that comes through brings hail (thunder storm season is from amrch to october) So I would probably look for an apartment with either a carport or garage.

Like I said though, it is probably something you will never encounter. I have lived in central DFW all my life, and have never been affected or had any damage done to a home due to a tornado. They have come with in 6 miles of my parents house and in the 26 years that they lived here have never seen a tornado. If you do encounter one, you will have plenty of time to prepare (unlike an earthquake, lol), as they typically come with thunder storms and hail, you will have a few hours advance and the news will say tornado watch/warning; a watch means a funnel cloud is apossible, a warning means funnel clouds have been spotted and the potential for touch down is greater. If you can afford a house I would buy one anyways instead of an apartment, it will still probably be less than what you are paying now for a mortage/ rent and you can sell it for a profit later in life.

What are the good and bad neighborhoods of Fort Worth, TX?

Fort Worth is just a really nice place all around. We are surrounded by small and medium bedroom communities that add to the overall character of Fort Worth. SO7 is relatively new and is attracting a huge millennial following. The downtown area is full of apartments/lofts/condos and it attracts a young professional crowd. Fort Worth itself gives a real feeling of safeness. North Fort Worth is home to many families and young professionals but also has a very established older population. It is a nice mix. Over by the TCU/Hulen area you will find lots of younger people mixed in with the college students. It also provides a wide diversity of experiences/shopping/ entertainment. Even the older areas of Fort Worth have a lot to offer and are constantly being renovated and updated. I work in East Fort Worth and appreciate the older homes that have been renovated and the neighborhoods that are being updated. I always say that Dallas offers the urban experience while Fort Worth offers the hometown experience.

I work in BNSF, Fort Worth, 76131. Where should I rent an apartment closer to an Indian community with grocery stores and public transportation access?

I assume you mean the corporate office. The lack of a car might complicate being in an actual Indian community, especially one that has room open. That said, it’s a nice little area. I’d contact the India Association of North Texas. I’m not specifically aware of a large Indian population at a specific apartment community, but I don’t live in an apartment, so I wouldn’t.If you’re willing to take public transpo to work (which you’ll want to research before you make a final decision on where to live because our public transpo isn’t as good as what you might be used to if you’re from a large city*), you might like it on the other side of the highway too. There are loads of apartment buildings within about 3 miles of BNSF. But again, I don’t know how concentrated the Indian population is there. We have a pretty heavy Vietnamese population in various spots, I’m just not aware of specific Indian communities (that doesn’t mean there aren’t Indians in the area… just that I’m not aware of where they might be concentrated apartment-wise.But starting in around 2012, I do know there was a boon in overall immigration of Indians to the overall DFW area, so I’d bet the India Association can provide some great resources.*Fort Worth is technically a large city, but it has a smaller feel in that area.Good luck!!!

Where can I rent rabbits for a photo shoot in the Dallas/Fort Worth area?

This rescue has TONS of rabbits of all descriptions available for adoption: http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/TX168.... I would contact them and offer to make a donation to the rescue in exchange for using them in your photo shoot! I bet they would be happy to, and it would be even better if you are using the photos publicly to publicize that the animals used are from a rescue and in need of homes!

Is it possible to visit Lockheed Martin's plant in Fort Worth, TX?

What I understand from experience working with JSF F35 II Lightning Program, some of high school students can visit. However, if you're going to work with Lockheed Aero division, most of the time the hiring manager will escort you to come in and take a look. If you're just going to come in without somebody can escort you, the answer is no. Also, it depends which area in Lockheed Forth Worth - Dallas you go. It can be one in Arlington, with the speed wind tunnel or Forth Worth for the home of JSF.If you're lucky enough, you can go there through your school. Sometimes the media communication folks will bring some engineers to the school /college as part of STEM outreach. You must be US Citizen in order to enter the facility. Forth Worth does security check and verification of your US citizenship. Bring passport / passport card will be the best way to go through security process.
