I'm so sorry to hear that you're in this situation. Being in a relationship with a narcissist can be horrendous.The narcissist wants you to be alone so that you feel weak and isolated. He/she doesn't want you to have anyone as a sounding board to discuss his/her awful behaviours and wants to keep you available so they can hook you back in when they feel like they need more supply. Basically she/he wants you to remain vulnerable.I'm certain your ex has been using a smear campaign against you for sometime. Just planting a few seeds of doubt in your friends’ and family’s minds when your relationship was ‘happy’ and now that you're separated comes the nasty smear campaign. It's to to protect the narcissist so they're never found out for what they truly are. You're painted as the crazy one and he/she is an innocent victim (and they get more supply from that sympathy too).My advice, and I know it's really hard, is to cut contact with all those people you speak about. Don't waste you energy trying to convince them that your ex is a narcissist. In their eyes he is the innocent party, and he's charming and just the world’s most lovely guy/girl. Maybe one day the truth will come out, maybe not. I know you're feeling hurt and you want everyone to know what he/she has done and to clear your good name. That's normal, but it's futile with a narcissist.Take some time out for yourself. Get to know yourself again. I'm sure the narcissist has controlled you too long and your personality was squashed. Get out and try to enjoy things you used to enjoy but that the narcissist didn't want you to do. Get your old self back. I hope you have a few close friends and/or family members who have stuck by you? If not, get on an online support forum and connect with others.Take care of yourself.
