Replacing A Car Alarm Siren

Can i replace my car alarm speaker to be louder? with a high watts but same db? or can i put one more speaker?

You can swap out sirens, just make sure it's a +12V one, and weather proof. Also make sure you wire it correctly, and mount it either facing across, or down, so it doesn't fill up with rain, snow, etc..
Good Luck!

How do I deactivate my autopage alarm?

I have a 2002 Nissan Altima which was given to me with an autopage remote. I don't know the model of the remote but it's nothing fancy or too new. Regardless, I can unlock and lock my car manually, but without unlocking my car with my autopage remote, my car alarm will go off upon starting my car. I don't know why my autopage remote is not working, I changed the battery but now I cannot lock my car because the next time I start it, my alarm will go off continuously and will not stop unless the autopage is activated. I don't know what to do. Could I buy a new remotest will sync to my current alarm system? Ideas or any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Where is the theft alarm module/siren located in a 2003 Saab ARC 9-3?

You have to remove or renew Onstar. Its not recommended to remove it as it is tied into the fuse housing as well. I have the same message reading on my dash, yes its annoying but unless you know how to reprogram the ecu after removing the Onstar connection i wouldn't bother.

I believe it is located in the dash but it could also be behind the trunk paneling.
If you plan on getting an aftermarket alarm system i wouldn't try that either unless your old system doesn't work. In that case you will have to find a away to bypass Onstar connection, NOT remove and replace.

If all your locking/unlocking, siren features still work, it simply asking you to renew Onstar not replace.

Alpine alarm siren removal, can I tie together the bare wires?

I recently purchased a used 1991 Acura Integra. I had no idea there was an alarm installed until the battery drained and the alarm started going off. I didn't receive the 'clicker' so I had to resort to physically removing the siren, leaving 2 wires. Afterwards I lost my emergency flashers.

Can I just twist the 2 wires together to get my flashers back, or are they receiving a "powered current" that by splicing I may create a fire hazard? Speakers need a "powered current" (coming from a power amplifier) so splicing 100 watts of power may get hot quick--- while if the siren has the "power amp" splicing before the siren shouldn't be a problem?

Hope I'm making sense, I know I can get a new clicker, but it's a 1991... Why pay for an alarm system that would be the most expensive thing in the car???

BMW X5 - car alarm going, car won't start - help?

I'd start by rolling up all the windows, shutting the sun-roof, hood, and trunk-lid. Close all doors and using the actual key, lock the LF door using the lock cylinder. All doors should lock, the alarm should arm, and the security warning lamp should flash. Wait a moment, and unlock all car doors (turn twice). Do not use the remote in these steps, instead, use the actual key. Next, hop in, close the door. Insert the key, wait a moment, and attempt starting the engine. If the engine does not start, or the alarm sounds when you open the door, the general module may be faulty. If you can hear a clicking sound from the starter the starter is either faulty or the battery is discharged. If the battery is discharged, charge it using a battery charger. Jump-start at your own risk (I've seen a $1500 DSP module get fried from a jump start/booster pack). If no sound or electrical surge is detected, the immobilizer may be faulty.

If these steps don't get it started, you more than likely will end up in the repair shop.

Why does my car alarm trigger when I am opening it using the key not the remote key fob?

some alarm systems are designed that way. Most alarms OEM and aftermarket have voltage sensing and will trigger the alarm when the dome light goes on. This is to combat possible breaks ins using a slim Jim. If you turn off the dome light(s) or remove the bulb, the alarm will not trigger unless it has a shock sensor. This includes “door ajar” sensors btw. This feature can be programmed out on most alarms but defeats the purpose of having an alarm.

My car's alarm stopped working. What could be the problem?

Could you tell what is the car make ? make sure all doors, hood , firmly closed .how it got turned off (after washing car or after accident ) give more details

Price to remove/deactivate car alarm?

This being a after market system it should be very easy to find the wire that powers it and just disconnect this one wire to disable it. Look at your battery positive post and if a wire was added there and you can tell it is not a factory wire then that may be the one. It could have been wired in under the dash also, so you need someone maybe to check this out for you. You could also remove the fuse if it has one for just this system and won't kill something else. If you just disable it ,then later you may want to have the problem fixed and use it again. It may someday save your belongings or the whole vehicle.

Can you change the remote code/frequency for an aftermarket alarm?

My car was stolen out of my garage when we weren't home (keys were in the house). Anyway, vehicle was recovered in very good condition. They only used it to transport the other stuff they stole from me. Anyway, the thief did not leave the keys in the vehicle, so the dealership had to replace all the lock cylinders and the ignition cylinder. They also had to reprogram the Passlock II system. Now I have factory remotes that only control the keyless entry system, but don't arm or disarm the alarm the alarm. The aftermarket alarm system was tied into the keyless entry system, but the dealership did not remove it because it wasn't a factory system. While I know the thief can't start the car anymore, I'm worried that if they see my car, they'll be able to open it via the remote that they still have.

Is there a way that the code for the alarm remote can be changed. Kind of like how you can change the code for your garage openers at the opener itself?

Or is my only option to have the alarm removed completely? I don't want to risk buying a new radio until I have this problem taken care of. And I know if my battery ever goes dead the alarm siren will sound as soon as I connect the new batter (I know this from experience.lol)
