Having been both, {I am a former Democrat as in the old Democrat Party of John F Kennedy.} it feels like I have grown up and matured as a Republican. It feels like I have learned I have a really good BS, Deceit and Lies Detector. In truth I didn’t leave the Democrat Party but rather the Democrat Party slowly walked away from me. Since they did so and I can see the macro image of what they truly are. It feels like I “got it” some thirty years ago that the Democrats are out to destroy the USA or as their Marxist Leader smooth-talked and soft-peddled it in the 2008 campaign: “Fundamentally Change” it.Frankly the Democrats never grew out of the 1960s radicals that they truly are. They merely learned how to dress in costumes of business attire and personal grooming to disguise themselves. Google their pictures from the 1960s and 70s to see what they look really look like out of costume. Google their thought and words from back then. Know that they all take communion from the altar of Saul Alinsky and their Bible was written by him. it’s called “Rules For Radicals”. Hillary Clinton worshipped Alinsky to the point she wrote a thesis praising him. Nor did they ever mature and grow up. They stopped believing in the Constitution as Constructed way back when they birthed their radical 1960s various subversive movements and first began demonstrating their hatred for the TRUE liberalism envisioned by the Founders and the Founders’ vision that you are guaranteed the PURSUIT of happiness rather than guaranteed results of that pursuit and government picking winners & losers manifests more and more every day. Frankly, in my honest assessment the radical Left of this country have morphed the Democrat party of JFK into Communist Party USA. They just conveniently omit “communist” from their name to fool the great many of their targeted voters whom they consider to be “Useful Idiots”
Why do people think the Republican party is dead?
There is no coherent leadership. There is a group of republicans who want to be separated from the Christian right. Others, liker Ron Paul supporters realize that the Iraq invasion was not an exercise of traditional conservative foreign policy. In essence the party got split between traditional conservatives and neoconservatives. The former believe in individual liberties and not interfering with the lives of others. They also believe in a more isolationist foreign policy. The latter embrace the Christian right, try to force their "morals" down the throats of others, and believe in a foreign policy of intervention. This is especially true of the middle East. Leo Strauss, the father of the neo-con movement, was a Zionist with a vision of remaking the middle East. This became Bush Policy.
So Republicans, how does it feel knowing you will never get back the white house and congress?
Take this from a real liberal: 1)Forever is not very long. 2) Karl Rove said the same thing in 1994. Took 10 years for forever to end. 3) 12 years of republicans in the White House from Reagan to Bush was unusual. 8 years of one party in the White House is about all America can stomach. 4) We will lose the white house either in 2012 or 2016. 5) 2010 will probably also follow historic trends and we will lose seats in congress. 6) They will celebrate their victories and claim government control forever, then it will all change again.

IDK about the GOP being on the side of God, but I do know that the Democrats are basically the party of gay rights and abortion, things which God really hates. Are you under the impression that because the GOP talks about smaller gov't and getting rid of welfare and the Democrats want to give free health care to everyone that the GOP is bad, and the Dems are good? Did Jesus tell us to vote for someone else to pay for good deeds? Did He ever say, steal from other people and give it to the poor, and I will reward you? Should I apply this doctrine to you? You won't mind, will you? Maybe some of us really believe the best way to cure poverty and high health care costs is to get the Gov't out of it. At least in terms of the political sphere. UPDATE: God did judge Cain. He called him a murderer and cursed him. I don't know why God chose to spare Cain's life temporarily, but He did. Later in the Scriptures, Cain is referenced as 'belonging to the evil one'. Likewise, when Christians tell you that homosexuality or any other thing for that matter is a sin, it is not necessarily the judgement that Jesus warns us not to do. That type of judgement is more in attitude. All Christians are sinners. We merely agree with God's judgement on our lives and actions, and repent, and believe that Jesus paid the price that is justly due to us. So we deal gently with others, knowing that we are susceptible to the same things they are doing. If we don't, and are haughty, God withdraws His grace and we find ourselves sinning in the same way that we condemned. So its mostly about attitude here, not calling something a sin. I am sure you think shooting someone is wrong,and people ought not to do it, and would be vocal about it under the right circumstances. And by my definition, the Democrats and some of the people answering here are condemning and judging unrighteously, since they vilify anyone who says abortion is a sin, or that adultery and homosexuality are sins. Anyways, Jesus said that the whole world was condemned already. He came to save sinners, so if you are a sinner, you qualify! You merely have to admit it, call sin sin, agree with God, and believe in Jesus as the punishment for what you have coming, and you walk away scot free. But you have to repent, not say that its OK to do stuff God says that His very soul loathes and hates.

Our next democrat president will select 3-4 new supreme court justices and will install them without competition when we control both houses. 3-4 liberal judges who will rule liberally and broadly with every case that comes their way. Everything regarding abortion, birth control, womens rights, education, gun control, immigration, the economy. You will officially see that you have lost the culture war. You will no longer be able to stall with little battles as you will have nobody in your corner in the court, presidency, either house. What has happened in California is that instead of having a far right party, we now have a progressive party and a centrist one. They’re all called Democrats, but it’s really two parties in practice if not in name.Democrats crushed it in Orange County because of changing demographics, (the same ones that are slowly turning Texas purple.) And some gains were made in rural areas.Those Democrats are not as progressive. That’s why they won. They are more centrist and maybe even a bit on the conservative side. What they are not is right wing misogynist, anti-immigrant xenophobes. They really don’t have the leeway to be progressive because that’s not what their electorate wants.If the Republican party came back to the center the voters would probably switch back.
