How do the football teams decide whether to wear home, away, or alternate jerseys in a match? What do these terms actually signify?

Every club basically, at the start of every new season posses 3 kits ( kit include jersey, shorts, stockings) of different colour but almost of same design most of the times. Clubs themselves don't design their kits rather the brand that sponsors the club do it, every year so they don't look anachronous. The kits' are called as-Home kit.Away kit.Alternate kit.Now WHEN to wear WHICH?When a team plays at home (i.e. in their own football stadium), they wear the home kit because it posses the same colour schemes the club has retained for decades and the colour form an integral part of their culture.Like, Real Madrid C.F. home kit which is of white colour scheme and they are called as the 'ALL WHITES'. Chelsea wears home kit which is of blue colour scheme and they are called as 'THE BLUES'.(Generally the colour schemes for the home kit for the national team of the country posses colour that are present in their respective nation's flag. Some exceptions are their like, Italy national team, Australian national team etc.)Now when the team plays an away (i.e. in opponent's football stadium) match, it may wear home kit or away kit or alternate kit. If the home kit of both the team share similar colour scheme, then to avoid the confusion, the travelling team is asked to play wearing the away kit. If there is a case that the colour scheme of the home kit and the away kit of travelling team is similar to home kit of the home team, then the travelling team is asked to wear aternate kit.Definitely there are cases where the home team wear the away kit and the travelling team wear their home kit but it's very rare. The fact is that, it's done just to prevent confusion for players in recognising their teammates during the match. Also, UEFA can ask you to wear a particular kit during its matches like, in the quaterfinals of this year UEFA Champions League, Athletico Madrid took on F.C. Barcelona in the two legged tie. In the both legs, both the teams were asked, by UEFA, to wear their away kit, which they did, in an effort to improve visibility and clearly differentiate the teams for both referees and spectators.Hope you get the point.Peace!

Now that Ivan Rakitic played superbly through this season, should we expect him to also play good in three-man midfield next season where he have played bad previously?

YesNow that Iniesta is leaving, Busi and Rakitic will be undisputed startersThe man has earned Valverde's trust! Most of the time Valverde has played Rakitic as a double pivot, along with busquetsExpect that to be the future if Arthur isn't coming in June and if we aren't signing any new midfieldersIt will be like 4–2–3–1 next season ( Occasionally) I think and the line will beBut it will be 4–3–3 too depends on where coutinho playsWith griezmann coming in Summer I don't expect Coutinho to play in The front 3But if you are worried that Rakitic will ruin the midfield or so, don't worry… he will get rested a lot along with busquets as they both are in their 30sLa masia boys like Samper and Aleña might get chancesWe can hope that the board does not pull a masterclass and loan Samper and Aleña

Why did Chelsea lose so badly to Manchester United at Old Trafford on April 16th, 2017?

tl;dr: This time, Mourinho got his tactics exactly right, and the Chelsea attack was toothless. As a Chelsea fan, I’m man enough to admit we were outplayed, and that Mourinho played a better tactical game than Conte in this one. The pressure by United was suffocating, and Herrara wore the same shirt as Hazard around the field, this time without fouling as much as he did in the previous fixture. I’m convinced that was Mourinho’s original plan in the reverse fixture, before the red card to Herrara forced a change of organization. United dominated the midfield and won many balls at the first time of asking. Kante was never going to win a single header against the towering Fellaini. United defended so strongly as a unit, there were times when Chelsea could hardly have a sight of goal, let alone a chance at it.To hammer this point home, Chelsea had 0 shots on target for the entire game, the first time in ten years, with the last time being, you guessed it, an away game at Old Trafford.United also made Chelsea pay for costly mistakes. You can argue there was a handball in the buildup for the first goal, but Rashford still had a lot to do, and Luiz never got back into the play. Kante had a rare major gaff for the second - he should have cleared rather than attempt to play out of a dangerous situation near the goal. Finally, Chelsea did themselves no favours. Costa was not dangerous, and due to the aforementioned tactics, Hazard was quiet. Mourinho proved that if you can quiet those two, Chelsea have no answer. No one else was capable of creating a chance to test De Gea, and if they did, one would back him to save all but the best of efforts.Conte accepted the lion’s share of blame himself, and has a lot of drawing board work to do. It takes a lot of discipline and player quality to turn in a performance like United did, but doubtless other teams will be taking notes as to how to apply principles of Jose’s blueprint to their own games against Chelsea.

How do Leicester City lose 5-0 to Porto but win 4-2 against Man City?

When they faced Porto, they were already qualified from their group in the 1st place, so the match against Porto was meaningless to them. Whatever the result may be, they would still be qualified as the group topper. So, Renieri rested almost everyone from their first team squad. Only 2 first team players were there in their line up againts porto, who were Wes Morgan and Danny Drinkwater, while the rest being backup players.Againts man city, they played all of their 1st team players except 1st choice goalkeeper Kasper Schemeichel and also they were lucky to score in first 5 minutes, and not to concede as bruyne hit the crossbar, and then score another goal in the next two minutes, so that, they can sit back and defend, while the man city players were under performing.EDITI just realized that their goalkeeper wasn’t even 2nd choice (Ron Zieler), but 3rd choice goalkeeper (Ben Hammer). They were playing 8 backup player, and 1 3rd choice player. No wonder they were beaten. But since they were beaten badly (5–0), this is the sign that they do not have a good team depth.

A ball is thrown upward with an initial velocity of 30 m/s. what is the maximum height that the ball will reach?

All answers I've read just give you an equation and fill it in. I just don't think that helps anyone understand what is being asked. So here goes my attempt at teaching anyone interested. There actually are several ways to calculate this of which I pick the one that is simplest to me.Assuming there is no (significant) air drag no energy is gained or lost; the kinetic energy (Ek) the ball has leaving your hand is converted in potential gravitational energy (Ep) on the way up, and back to kinetic energy on the way down.Their size must therefore be equal:Ek = EpAlso we know that,Ek = 0.5*m*v^2. and, Ep = m*g*hwith m the mass of the ball, v its velocity leaving your hand, g the gravitational acceleration and h the maximum height the ball reaches.Rearanging a bit gives you:v^2 = 2*g*h or,v^2/2g =hCurious about a different way?Take,St = S0 + V0 *t + 0.5*a*t^2which gives the position of an object at time t (St) given the position at time 0 (S0) the initial velocity (V0) and the acceleration (a) which is constant. For a we fill in -g (because down is negative) we take S0 = 0 and we know V0.To find t we need to solve it from,Vt = V0 + a*t.Since the velocity at the summit of the balls flight is zero we get:V0 = g*t. or, t = V0/g(Notice how I cleverly got rid of a minus?)Fill in that value into the equation for St and you're done. But you can also plug the formula for t into the equation:St = V0*V0/g - 0.5*g*(V0/g)^2= (V0^2)/g - 0.5*g*(V0^2)/g^2= (V0^2)/g - 0.5*(V0^2)/g= 0.5*(V0^2)/g = (V0^2)/2gwhich is the result we had before when you consider that v there is V0 here.Isn't it great how everything lines up?I hope this helped you understand rather than get the answer right.Yes… There's a difference…
