Returning A Fish Tank

Returning a fish tank to petsmart?

hi, i recently bought a fish tank from petsmart (monday, sept 5th, actually) and 2 nights ago, while i was trying to sleep, i heard a crack, and water pouring. yup, you guessed it, the tank broke. i cannot find my receipt anywhere, and the website says my petsmart petperks record doesn't have the transaction. so what do i do? do you think they'll still do an exchange? maybe if i find an employee that helped me they can be my proof that i just bought it 5 days ago. i don't know their return policy thats why i'm asking

Can I return a used fish tank?

Don't keep any living creature in a half gallon tank, please! Clean it really well, and put it back in the box, if it came in one. Take your store receipt and just say this tank is inappropriate and you would like a refund. If the clerk refuses, ask to speak with the manager. Repeat your request to the manager. If he (or she) refuses, say you would really hate to have to contact the company directly, and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau over such a small thing, but that you are prepared to do so if necessary. Don't be irate or argumentative. Be calm, rational, and state you were mis-led by their supposedly "knowledgeable" employee.
If they will not give you a refund, take note of the manager's name, and follow through by contacting the company on their web-site. Describe the situation, what was said, how taken advantage of you feel, and how you will likely be taking your future business to their competitor. Also let them know you will be filing a complaint with the BBB, and do so. Just Google BBB and your state.
Educate yourself about proper Betta care. Start by getting some beginner's aquarium keeping books, and at least one on Bettas. Look for a locally owned and operated fish store (not a big box store). The employees are generally fish enthusiasts, and know their stuff. The overall quality and health of their stock is typically much better, and they are generous with advice and help.
Please get your Betta a 5 gallon tank with hood, heater, and gentle filter, asap. That is what they require for good health and happiness. In a half gallon "tank" that fish will die sooner, rather than later. A well-kept Betta should live at least 5 years, and I have heard of them living as long as 10! Well worth the investment in proper equipment.
Good luck!

Can I return my fish tank?

I bought a Fluval Chi Aquarium at Petsmart about 2 weeks ago, it's only 5 gallons and I didn't realize the limited species of fish that are suited for this small tank. I have a 10 gallon tank already, but I need a filter and a heater and I don't have the money for it. The Chi set me back $70, and I was wondering if I could return it? I still have the box and receipt, but the tank is currently inhabited. Do you think Petsmart would take it back? It's too late for me to call them.
PS The tank came with some sample conditioner and bacteria, which i used a little of each. Could I just put them back in the box without them knowing?

Can i return a fish tank at Petsmart?

Hey guys,

I bought 20 gallon aquarium kit at Petsmart about 6 months ago and i need to return it because it sprung a leak overnight and all my fish died. Do you think petsmart will accept the return or give me store credit? I dont have the receipt or the box it came in but i have everything else that it came with.

Can you return fish to petco?

edit: I saw the black one picking on my betta more so I got both the orange and the black molly out of the tank and put them in my goldfish tank for now. (29 gal.) Tomorrow I will return both of them. I will keep my corry since he is fine in there but I didn't want my betta to get any more stressed out so I will get no more fish with the Betta. I don't really care if the little orange molly gets eaten by my 5 inch goldfish. >.< the orange guy is gonnadie anyway because it's sick and the black one is a mean bully. >.<

Can you return a tank to Petsmart if fish have been in it?

I bought a 10 gallon aquarium with filter and heater included about 11 days ago. I have been having some SERIOUS problems. I just found out that when I move in June, I will be flying to my new location rather than driving. I can't ship the fish without worrying they'll die, so I just need to straight up return the tank.

Will Petsmart take a tank back if it has already had water and fish in it, as well as the filter and heater running? I'm quite upset.
I have the receipt for everything. I KNOW that I can return the fish for a refund, but what about tanks?

P.S. - I don't want to hear about other methods for moving with fish. I do not have the extra money and I will not for quite some time. My only option is to return it or sell it.

Walmart Return Policy...Fish Tank Filter.?

I bought a Fish tank water filter around 40 days ago...Lately it started making really loud noises. I cleaned it up, the fan sucking water in is clean...It only does that every few hrs for a couple of minutes. Its anoyying at night tho.

I still have all the packaging and the receipt. Can I return it to get an exchange?

Return a fishtank to walmart?

So i got the GloFish tank from walmart, opened it up and have it setup and running but I'm not happy with it at all. It seems like it would be very hard, close to impossible, to clean without getting the blacklight wet and supposedly the 1.5 gallon tank is supposed to hold about 6 glofish in there, but i've been reading and people have been saying that a 1.5 gallon tank is way too small, even just for 2 glofish. So, what i want to know is, will walmart take it back even though i opened it and used it? I know it would probably be store credit, but would they even take it back?

What will PetSmart do with the fish I return?

I bought five neon tetras and two betta fish on Sunday. One betta is a male, one is a female. Every day after school, I notice that the female betta has less and less fins. I've seen the male attack the female, and one of the neons has been chomped as well. I am looking to return the male and the female betta because I want to get different fish. I have heard of the "sick tank" that they have in the back, where they put sick fish in with other sick fish, and I don't want that to happen. The male is completely healthy looking, and the female is too, besides the fin problem. I want to return them, but only if I can know that they will be treated well and re-sold. Thank you.

What is Petco's fish return policy?

If you return it alive within 30 days, we’ll give you a refund and put it back out for sale. If you return it dead within 30 days we’ll give you a refund or exchange and dispose of it for you. If it’s been longer than 30 days, we won’t refund you, but we will adopt it out for cheap if it’s alive, and dispose of it for you if it’s dead. Some petcos will only do the refund/exchange for dead fish if you also bring in a seperate water sample and the sample tests come back normal. If they come back as a “non-properly established tank” they can technically deny you the refund, saying it’s your fault the fish died. Some petcos don’t care about that, and only care about making the customer happy, and will give you the refund/exchange regardless.I know that I, personally, prefer that you bring in a water sample so that I can recommend either a refund OR exchange. If your water comes back perfect, I’ll recommend an exchange, and put the cost of the fish as a credit towards your purchase. If the water comes back as high in nitrites, nitrates, or ammonia, or your pH is off, I’ll still give you the refund but will not sell you any more fish until you bring us a clean sample.
