3D Animation: What is character rigging? How does it work?

To add to Sharad Kaplingad's answer.A character model on its own can't be animated.  For animation, a static 3d model needs to be bent, twisted, expanded etc. This deformation happens through a variety of deformers. The most common deformer is a skeleton of bones or joints.  A complementary skeleton might be added to the mesh, and the motion of the joints in the skeleton drives the vertices in the 3D mesh. But animator might not just simply want to animate a large set of bones.Their life might be made easier if there were smarter higher-level controls. They might want a slider to animate a facial expression. Or they might want a rocker that allowed a neat heel-to-toe roll during walking. They might want inverse kinematic targets for the hands and feet. And they might want the eyeballs to point at a null object. In large complex projects, someone will set up a rig.The word rig means not just the skeleton but the sum total of all of these animation tools.  For a complex character (say Dobbie in Harry Potter) the design and execution of the rig itself (not counting any actual animation ) might represent hundred of man-days. This example is a pretty complex rig from a feature film.Troll Hunter VFX - Troll Rig Demo

Is the CE (Construction Electrician) Rating in the Navy Better than the EM Rating (Electricians Mate)?

Simple answer when you ask yourself this...

Do you want to be on shore duty, working with construction battalions to include deploying overseas in war zones OR

Do you want to be on sea duty, working on everything electrical on a ship, deploying for six months at a time onboard?

That is the fundamental difference. As a CE you will work with Battalion construction, rigging new or fixing old electrical systems in buildings, etc whereas as an EM you will be responsible for components of a shipboard electrical plant to include turbine generators and emergency diesel generators.

Either way, you will work electricity.

Hope that helps

What education do you need to be a demolitions expert?

Instructions

How to Become a Demolition Expert
1

Determine what kind of demolition work you are interested in pursuing. Military demolition work may require wartime skills such as underwater demolition, structural demolition or even anti-personnel demolition. This requires exceptional physical stamina as well as extensive training by the appropriate branch of the military. Civilian demolition work may not require the same level of physical conditioning, but demolishing old buildings, bridges and other structures still requires a great deal of experience, usually only gained via on-the-job training.
2

Obtain the appropriate skills. An expert in demolitions has a good understanding of basic construction methods, basic engineering principles, rough carpentry and rigging skills and competency in the use of common hand and power tools. Demolition work frequently involves the use of explosives and heavy equipment, which requires a high degree of proficiency. The ability to stay calm under stressful conditions and to maintain a "safety first" mentality is essential.
3

Seek out technical colleges and industry training opportunities. Learning institutions offer classroom course work in construction, including courses in demolition. Or you can find a mentor. Many experts recommend finding a company that is involved with the kind of demolition you are interested in learning, hiring on as an apprentice, and working your way up.
4

Seek out training by the military. Each branch of the military offers demolition training that is specific to its mission. The Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Army Special Forces, Navy Seals and others all require personnel who are trained in the proper use of demolitions techniques and equipment. Training may include the proper handling of explosives, proper shape charges to cut through specific types of structures, heavy equipment operations, hazardous waste disposal, live explosive (bomb) disposal and safety and crowd control.
5

Get hands-on experience. According to demolition expert Stacey Loizeaux, 95 percent of demolition knowledge comes from hands-on experience. Become a keen observer of how different kinds of buildings react to different kinds of demolition techniques.

What is bid rigging (more inside)?

More than likely the city has a policy that contracts between city and private business (probably construction companies) must be competed for in blind bids. There's a series or bidding rounds, and lowest bid (cheapest to the city) wins.

In bid rigging the private businesses get together beforehand and make deals to allow one to have the lowest bid. It's a done deal even before the first blind bid. The quid pro quo would probably be some kind of money transfer via subcontracts or just straight payoffs or they're taking turns on blind bids for various other contracts.

What are examples of union jobs??

Truck drivers, Grocery store employees, State employees, Warehouse workers, Forklift drivers, Dock workers, Lumpers, Seamen, ect.

There are a number of billets available inside the Marine Engineer Specialty. Duty ranges from normal Combat Marine billets to Instructor-Inspector billets, Combat Engineer force service group billets, and Engineer billets attached to Marine aircraft wings.
Marine Combat engineers repair, alter, maintain, alter and adjust various structures and buildings.
