Which colour of T-shirt would be better with dark blue jeans?

Can I wear a blue shirt with blue jeans?

I don't see why not unless the 2 blues "clash" somehow, that is, one having a more yellow or green hue.

Rock the top button done up on dark plaid flannel shirt and skinny jeans?

Yeah man, button it up.

Can I wear my shirt open casually?

Totally! As long as it’s a button down shirt and not a dress shirt. Short sleeve button down shirts work great Spring and Fall, while flannel is great for the colder months (or nights). You can do a cotton long sleeve button down all year round. Rolling up your sleeves always looks good too because it keeps up with the casual look. You can pair the look with a neutral colored t-shirt (i.e. white, black, grey etc.) - graphic or not, totally optional. Crew neck t-shirts look slightly better than v-necks for this look, but either can work. Make sure your t-shirt isn’t too thin or the neck isn’t too loose or it will look like an undershirt rather than a t-shirt.I wrote a post on the unbuttoned look, which you might find helpful too!

How to make sweatpants look cute?

Sweatpants are never *flattering.* (Flattering in the sense that they display your body type in the best way possible.) However, they can be extra cute! If you wear big banded sweatpants the right way, they'll be cute!
Examples:
1) White, short-sleeved, v-neck pocket tee, sweatpants, colorful socks and converse/vans/nike thin-soles, big messy bun on the top of your head with a headband, dainty chain locket, big pearl earrings, and basic makeup (waterline, bronze shadow, mascara, blush, concealer, defined brows)
2) Bright tank, off the shoulder graphic tee of a college or from AEO, Hollister, etc., sweatpants, Ugg boots, high straight pony, big pearl stud earrings or flower studs, basic makeup (same as above, but with bright lipstick (not red, unless your sweatpants and/or shirt are red-- red tends to look formal!) and black eyeliner instead of shadow
3) A cute jacket (such as a North Face) with your sweatpants, Uggs, and a scarf (any makeup/jewelry)
4) A flannel, puffy vest, and your sweatpants
5) Wear yoga pants, a sweatshirt, and a pearl necklace instead
6) Something cute like skinny jeans and a cardigan over a plaid shirt with the sleeves folded over it, or a graphic tee with the sleeves cuffed, or a tee and scarf, or a cute striped sweater and long pendant, or a bodycon skirt and sweater, etc.

Those are all just suggestions. I'm sure you have fads going on at your school, too, and a personal style that will help you rock your sweatpants!! :DDD

I looooove my Hollister sweatpants I got on clearance-- they're red, boyfriend fit, thick and sooooft, banded, and I cuff the legs a little. They're cutecutecute and feel like I'm wearing nothing!

You'll have fun dressing up with your team the rest of the week, but it's nice to take a bummin-it day-- but you don't have to sacrifice your cute factor!! So whether you wear sweatpants or something else, as long as your comfy, and FEEL cute, you'll be cute and have a great time! :D

Also, humongous IS a word, but it's spelled like that <-- ;)

Hope I helped!
