Roughly How Long Would It Take To Walk From The Very Most Southern Point Of London To The Most

How long would it take to walk from one end of NYC to the other?

Ok, I see a lot of people talking about this as if Manhattan is all there is to NYC.

You can walk around Manhattan pretty quickly, walking from North to South (or the other way obviously) isn't that far, you could probably do this in about 4 hours or so.

Walking across all of NYC, from West to East though, that's a pretty damn long walk. Depends kinda how far into Long Island you consider NYC too. If we're including the Hamptons, since it's summer still, it'd take you days :)

How long will it take to walk from London to Yorkshire?

Yorkshire (West,South , East and North) is one hell of a big place. The biggest county in England! Where in Yorks? The Southern most point where it meets Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire? Same goes for Wales (my part of the World). It is to the west of England, and stretches from the Bristol Channel, in the south (SW England!) , to the Dee, near Chester ( in NW England!! ) in the North. Cornwall? Where to; the first town of Gunnislake? Think? I think this is a pretty naive question in view of the size of the places involved. How big or rather how small do you think this scountry is?

How long would it take to walk everywere in London in one day?

Unless you are reffering to the strict definition of the city of London (the square mile), in which case a few hours should suffice, you couldn't do it in a day. To visit every single part of London would take 100's of miles of walking

The current record for visiting every tube station is about 17 hours and that's using the train !

How long would it take to walk from one end of Tokyo to the other?

If you walk from the mostwestern part (Nippara) to east (Edogawa, Shishibone), it will, according to Google maps [1] take 22 hours and 26 minutes and in terms of distance it is 101 km to walk.If you walk from the southmost mainland Tokyo tip (in Ota, next to Kawasaki city), to the northernmost part of Adachi, it will, according to Google maps [2] take 6 hours and 53 minutes at least and in terms of distance it is roughly 34 kilometers. However, if you consider a trip from the southernmost Tokyo island which is Minami-Torishima or Marcus Island it would take 1848 kilometers to swim first.Footnotes[1] Google マップ[2] Google マップ

How long would it take to walk across country?

The Walking Man, Gary Hause, is walking around the world in stages. He's made it across America in 87 days and across Europe in 147 days. Next leg is to tackle Asia. For his Europe trek in winter 1999/2000 he took along a small computer and emailed dispatches.

Here's the trip anthology for walking across United States:

How long would it take someone to walk the Great Wall of China?

You can’t actually run. . . Or even walk the entire Wall as much of it is in ruin. The Wall you see on TV with happy, smiling tourists is renovated and around Beijing. But beyond the major cities near the Wall, it has been left to crumble. However, there are two other awesome Wall locations a few hours from Beijing: Simatai Great Wall and Jinshanling Great Wall. I have been to both, even slept over night on the Wall at Jinshanling. Nice thing is that there is hardly anyone there as it is about three hours from Beijing. The Wall sections here are in decent shape and authentic, not like the tourist Wall around Beijing where you can hardly move because of all the people!

How long would it take a carriage from london to arrive in the highlands of scotland in the late 1880s?

A somewhat hypothetical question Emily ! Why ? In the 1880s the Highland road system was appaling as the main road north from Stirling to Inverness ( now the A9) was little better than it had been when constructed by General Wade in 1720 ! If you take the trip from London to , say , Inverness - the Highland capital it is approx 580 miles . Your trip to Stirling on the edge of the Highlands is 420 miles and in those days an average of 70 miles / per day was about right therefore it was 6 days . The punch line is the last 160 miles to Inverness , that would have taken probably another 3 to 4 days giving a total time of 9 to 10 days . There is a great book written by Osgood MacKenzie in 1921 ( A Hundred Years in The Highlands ) who describes a winter trip from Perth to Inverness by stage coach and having to abandon things because of the weather and returning to Perth and going by TRAIN ! That was in 1872 . In those days many went by sea which could take 17 days ( McKenzie's book) !
