Is RPG Maker VX Ace Lite Good Enough To Make A Full Game?

Hi,
I was planning on getting RPG Maker, but I noticed that there is a lite version of Ace for free. What is the difference between this and the others? Can I make a full game with it? The website says there are no time restrictions, so I was just wondering.
Thanks.

How do I fix the "Failed to Initialize Directx Audio" for RPG Maker XP?

Have you attempted to troubleshoot your DirectX installation using the Direct X Troubleshooter? If not, do this:

Open a Run dialog box, and enter, dxdiag and hit OK or Enter.

This opens the Direct X Troubleshooter. If you are using Vista, the Run box is not on the Start menu by default. If you want to place the Run dialog box on the Start menu right click the Start Orb, and select Properties. On the Properties dialog box, click the Start Menu tab if it is not selected, then click Customize button. On the Advanced tab scroll down the list and place a check mark in front of Run dialog box and then click Ok, and then OK again. The Run dialog box is now displayed on your Start Menu.

However, you can locate the Direct X Troubleshooter by typing dxdiag in the Start menu Search box, then click on that in the programs list. If you need to, right click and select Elevate and enter any password if required.

When the Direct X Troubleshooter opens, you can click on the Sound or Audio tab, and perform any of the tests it has on that page, or you can run through each page in order by clicking Next Page at the bottom of each one, beginning with the System tab.

Make sure you place a check mark in the box on the bottom of the System tab in front of Check for WHQL digital signatures, as this runs a check to ensure all are digitally signed and compatible with your OS.

Good luck and have a nice day.

What is the most preferred tool in making games for beginners?

When you say 'making games' are you talking all at once, or a set side. This is going to be a shortish answer that spans many topics. Many things go into making games. Here is a couple: ArtProgrammingLevel DesignMusic When you say preferred tool, are you talking game makers for learning? If so its going to vary on the person. If you are someone that has a little programming experiance or are interested in learning programming, I suggest that you try out Python. After you grasp the basics of programming then you can try your luck with Pygame and start to make your basics of a game. If your looking for tools to kinda slap together something that you can work with and play around there is a large group of software out there. It really depends on what you want to do. If you interested try looking at a few of these programs: Flash from Adobe.com , its really easy to learn and you can start making your games with Flixel the game engine. RPGMaker VX ACE is really good for RPG's and you can learn some Ruby to customize it. FPS Creator is great for FPS games and you can customize it using BASIC. Unity3D is a steep learning curve but its good to explore. Styncl is a flash game maker which is drag and drop which also allows you to get down and dirty in ActionScript when you get more advanced. GameSalad is the same as Styncl but is geared towards iOS development. There are a few other options aswell. Buying the game Starcraft 2 or Starcraft 1 allows you to have access to the map maker, which allows you to customize the game and create your own scenarios. Modding is a good way to start learning aswell. LittleBigPlanet 2 or 1 is really good to develop levels on and play them to learn some fundementals on design and limitation. Your creativity is also explorable by anyone with the game. I hope this helps! -Mark
