I have same experience too. so to get the cursor back, do the following. press the keyboard key Alt+Tab then game will minimize and now again press Alt+Tab and select the Game. so then cursor will there. or do this quit from the garage, go to free roam and move the mouse, you will see the mouse pointer. now go to garage and pointer will be visible.
