Sagging Skin After Weight Loss

Will I have saggy skin after losing weight?

I am a 16 year old girl. I am not morbidly obese or anything. Just kind of chubby. I have started exercising, doing cardio to burn fat, and eating healthy. I reduced my calories by 600. I want to lose around 30 to 50 pounds so I can be super skinny and have my best body possible. If I lose a lot of weight will I have saggy flabby skin? I am doing light toning workouts and everything. Like planking and light push-ups and curl ups everyday. Since I'm young, will my skin stretch back to normal?

How can you firm your skin after weight loss?

I know I don’t want to carry this around. If it really is skin, you have a couple options. The problem is, unless you are pinching a couple millimeters of skin with no squish in it, that lose skin is most likely mostly fat.It could be skin, but it is unlikely if you can actually pinch it and feel the squish. If it is skin, you have a couple options.Lose Weight SlowlyYour skin is SUPER resistant. It will, over time, bounce back. Do you know why people always give the advice ‘lose one or two pounds per week’ at most? Part of that is the science behind losing weight, but the other part is that if you lose slowly and gradually, your skin will bounce back naturally.Build MuscleBuilding muscle will help fill the missing skin. This is the most common suggestion on how to get rid of lose skin after losing weight. The problem is this is most likely the longest approach.Eat Your VeggiesIt is proven here, and frankly everywhere, that your skin quality improves with a good diet. Your body needs vitamins and minerals. The problem with supplements is the majority of things on the market are not always soluble for humans.Yes - you are wasting money. Eating a good diet is the quickest way to give you skin what it needs to bounce back.Should You Ever Consider Surgery? The only time you should consider surgery is after:You have maintained weight loss for one year. You had a body fat test and determine it is NOT fat.You have maintained or rebuilt lost muscle from dieting. After a year, your body accepts the new weight point you are now at hormonally, which means you will not be as inclined to gain the weight back. Since most people confuse the skin as fat, and a plastic surgeon just wants you money, you need to test your body fat on your own.Plus, if you lose muscle, you will want to build it back. If you do not, and you gain muscle later, you could get more stretch marks. It is better to see where you are naturally before getting under a knife.I personally never advocate surgery. At Approaching Fitness we like the ‘hard work’ approach. There are some supplements you can take before you should consider surgery such as Fish Oil. Or, being put on Growth Hormone by a doctor (Which helps improve skin health vastly and speeds up recovery). So if you are considering surgery, do not go to Quora, see a trusted MD and ask what your options are. And do this after you ensure you have actually have lose skin and not fat. Your skin will bounce back, you just need patience.

Loose skin after weight loss.?

Question: How do I get rid of loose skin after weight loss?
Answer: Loose or saggy skin can be a common problem after losing a large amount of weight (more than about 50-100 lbs) in a short period of time. In time, you may see improvements in your skin's elasticity, but some people may require surgery to remove excess skin.
According to Plastic Surgery Guide Natalie Kita, the main factors involved in your skin's elasticity include:

•Age: As you get older, your skin becomes less elastic.
•Genetics: Genes influence how much firmness your skin retains as you get older.
•How much weight you lose: When you lose a large of amount of weight in a short time, such as with weight loss surgery, your skin doesn't have time to shrink along with your body and may be permanently stretched if you're overweight for a long period of time.
•Sun exposure: Your past, present and future exposure to the sun can damage your skin.
•Nutrition and water intake: Your skin may not be as healthy or firm if you aren't getting balanced nutrition, vitamins and minerals (especially Vitamins C & E) and staying hydrated.
•Smoking: Smoking can speed up the normal aging process of your skin.
What You Can Do About It

Because we're all different, each person will have a different response after losing weight. Some people may bounce back quickly while others may need to consider body contouring surgery to get rid of extra skin. Natalie recommends waiting at least a year after weight loss before considering plastic surgery to allow your weight to stabilize.

Remember that body contouring surgery is an expensive and serious surgery requiring a long recovery time. You may be able to make a difference with other options, such as exercise and a healthy diet. A basic cardio and strength training program can help you reduce body fat while building muscle. When you add muscle, you can improve how the skin looks and may be able to reduce some sagging.

Avoiding Loose Skin

The best way to avoid loose skin is to lose weight slowly, about 1-2 pounds per week. Slow weight loss allows you to maintain muscle mass while losing fat and it also allows your skin to adjust as you lose weight.

I WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK :) :) :)

Will I have loose skin after weight loss?

Possibly, possibly not. Depends how much weight you are losing and how quickly. If you are losing a lot of weight quickly, then you will have loose skin, this can be removed with surgery, but the surgery is expensive and will leave scaring so is best left to extreme cases. If you lose weight gradually, then your skin will contract and reduce the saggieness. If you are worried about this then the best approach is to put on muscle mass, this will make your fat loss look more impressive and will give you more "frame", as well as reducing any sagging skin.

Depends how much you loose. Say if you are massively overweight then you will drasticly loose weight leaving you with saggy skin which has to be removed in most cases.

If you are not loosing that much and if you are doing it properly then your skin should go back to normal. It is important to loose with a balance of a good diet and sensible work out. People get saggy skin due to loosing weight far too quickly form them to firm up with exercise.

Can teens have loose skin after weight loss?

If you lose a large amount of weight quickly (this usually happens only after bariatric aka "weight loss" surgery), then yes, you can have loose skin. In extreme cases, surgery is needed to remove the excess skin but this is rare. If you lose weight at a safe rate of not more than one pound per week (and 1/2 pound per week is perfectly fine), your body should have no trouble "shrinking" the skin to fit. The bottom line is that you almost certainly have nothing to worry about. Avoid fad diets and weight loss pills, they're nothing but trouble.

How to tighten loose skin after weight loss?

I have lost 30lbs in the last 9 months pretty slowly and I already have some loose skin. Mostly in my dish area, since I've lost 5 inchesof my waist. I still have 20 more pounds to lose before I reach my goal, and loose skin is already an issue. What can I do to fix this loose skin? Take supplements? Is there some kind of lotion or something that I should put on my skin? Any tips at all will help. I do exercise daily and do a lot of ab work already. Any suggestions?
