Once you have selected the "wipe data/factory reset", press the "Power" button to select that option.   7. If you took your SD card out in step 2, when the device is up and running again, reinsert the SD card.

I had the same problem on my Tab S 8.4 after flashing a rom (it wasn't rooted; I was flashing an older official firmware) . What I did was hold volume up+volume down + home +power and the screen went off and then I went into recovery mode (volume up+ power+home) and wipe data/factory reset and  wipe cache partition. Then it booted fine.

suppose the app has broken ur system. there are two options 4 u; either to format ur phone through recovery mode or reflash ur OS.
1. how to enter into recovery mode? just simply holding Home Button, Volume Up button and Power Button for 20 Seconds, this will put your device in Recovery Mode. After u have entered recovery mode ,use volume up/down to scroll through options and home/middle button to confirm/yes, choose wipe data/factory reset and after that choose reboot phone. if factory reset doesn't solve the problem, the only way is to reflash ur phone’s OS. read 2nd option
2. follow this link to install current OS for ur galyoung, please do step by step instructions patiently and when u flash the firmware, disable first kies(USB driver still work though) and any antivirus to avoid any failure in flashing:
