Depending on the size of the set, it may not be worth repairing. As already posted - the power supply capacitors have failed, which is very common with modern television sets that are built with low grade parts. Samsung is typically above average, but they still fail. There are no repairs you can do. There are no user replaceable parts inside the set and the set should be repaired by a qualified electronics technician. My rule of thumb is... if the set is 32" and smaller, just replace it. If the set it 42" and larger, consider having it repaired.

More than likely it is the power circuit board of the tv that is broken. This is a common issue with bargain price tv and the low end models. You can call or email the manufacturer and see what they say, also ask for a cost estimate of the repair. I might not be cost effective in repairing than just buying a new tv. Go online to Home Theater Magazine and read the reviews on tvs, along with the pro and con of each technology. Panasonic Plasma tv is the only plasma tv they recommend. Hope this will help you out.

Chances are it is the power board. But you may not have to replace the whole board. Look around on the board and see if there any capacitors that are swollen or leaking. If there are take down the numbers on the side and order them online from Mouser.com or anywhere that sells them and replace them. Note the stripe on the capacitor when replacing them and make sure they end up facing the same way. It requires a little basic soldering, but I have fixed half a dozen or so "broken" TV's like this. Samsung Plasma TV keeps turning off and on and now it won't turn on?
This morning I turned on the plasma TV and then everything was fine i was watching tv and the tv went blank and then it turned itself off and then on for about 5 times and now I can't turn on the screen. The cable is on but the TV now won't turn off. I've tried unplugging the power cord but it still started to click, what's the problem and what can i do?

it's not your week is it. phone up the shop and tell them you need a replacement, or a next day [quick] service engineer to sort it out.it just sounds like my lcd tv when it broke earlier this year, that was a samsung i got a flashing light no picture, then something melted and there was a plastic smell. its at times like these that you start to think an extend warranty isn't such a bad idea don't you

Sounds like a classic case of the curse of Samsung's crappy capacitors. One or more of the capacitors likely popped. This is a pretty common occurrence with Samsung TVs.. If it's still under warranty, they will replace them for free. Does it just click several times when you try to turn it on? That's a SURE sign it's the capacitors. You will either need to solder new ones on, or just replace the main input, or power supply board.

Panasonic plasmas have been second only to the Kuro units for a few years in many of the "Editors Choice" and "Best of the Year" articles in the magazines. If you were looking at LCD - samsung or sony would be top brands, but Panasonic seems to do 1 thing well: plasmas. Go for it. Amazon is decent - but try a shopping comparison site like Shopzilla or Buy and learn what the ranges are. And dont forget that last years outstanding models are now discounted for the the new. Unlike trying to fix the problems with LCD - there has NOT been great changes in Plasma because it is already so good. Hit your library for Dec/Jan issues of the review magazines.
Most TVS have the ability to be turned by a power switch. Sometimes located under the front ,center of the TV. If TV turns on, you have a bad remote/remote battery. If this does not turn it on, check the circuit breaker in house power panel. I have never heard of any circuit breaker inside a TV. But try resetting the TV by leaving it unplugged for about 10 min. This exhausts my ideas on your problem. Good fortune.

Sorry, but there are tons of things that can cause your observed problem. Whatever happened caused an internal overload and blew a fuse. Check the power supply first, and then the sweep circuits. Don't just replace the fuse as the basic fault will only blow the new one.

First check with 1-800-SAMSUNG. They fixed my 4 year old TV for free. Yours might qualify for free one-time capacitor fix. But this has one catch: If your TV is not capacitor related, you are liable for the repair person coming out fee. 1-800-SAMSUNG gave me ticket# and service center #. What I did is I called service center # and I asked them if I can take the TV to the service center as I work all day and I don't want to wait home. They said it was ok, so I took the TV to them. They told me that since I took the TV to them, if it's not capacitor problem, there would be no charge. They took about 10 minutes to change 4 capacitors and it's working perfect for me.
