Samsung Slate PC Windows Developer Preview

Which is better, an Android tablet, a Windows tablet or the iPad?

It depends too much on your personal needs to be able to give you a good answer. If you feel like describing what you do on a tablet I can give you a very good answer, though. If I have to generalize, though, for the most basic, non-tech users, you could go for an iPad. Remember, they don’t have a real widescreen and the overall feeling of an iPad is a tablet for a child. Also, Apple is forcing you into an echo system you don’t wanna be in a few years, as Apple is dropping year after year. Once upon a time, Apple were the kings of tablets, but that time is over. For the medium techies, you could make an argument for Windows, especially if you have the money to pick up their more expensive tablets. They have a bunch of really solid tablets, and although pricey, of really high quality. I haven’t that much experience with their software and OS on tablets, but from what I understand, their app store is nothing like Apple’s and Google’s. So be aware if you like to use a lot of apps.Best choice regardless of phone or tablet is usually Android for a number if reasons. Price, customization, a lot of updates and fixes, most advanced functions on the market by far (just compare Siri/Cortana with Google Assistant and you will laugh). If you like technology and the ability to somewhat decide how your tablet experience should be — by customizing the design of things and not being locked-in by some developer who thinks you shouldn’t be able to change their stuff — choose Android.

Do all drawing tablets require computers or laptops?

It depends on what kind of results you are hoping for. Wacom divvies their offerings into Smartpads, Pen tablets, Pen displays and Pen computers. Smartpads are note-pad sized tablets that can save a drawing in the cloud, for later access via a computer, but it will probably take a computer to, for example, print out a copy. They aren’t too expensive, but I’ve never used one and I have no idea what the resolution is like, or whether they work in color. Then there’s a big jump to something like an iPad Pro, a Wacom Cintiq companion 2, or a MS Surface Pro, all of which are very capable devices, but pricey($800–$3000.00). The iPad runs on a downscaled operating system that only accepts drawing apps designed for that system; the Surface Pro is a tablet computer, operates in Windows 10 and up, and will run any app Windows will run. The Wacom Cintiq Companion 2 also runs Windows as a stand-alone device, and-unlike the other 2- can also serve as a computer input device. Rumor has it that Microsoft has come out with a Large Pen-display-computer all-in-one called the Surface Studio, starting early 2017 for $3,000. So if you are asking if there are “tablets” that can be used without an additional computer, then, yes, they are available as inexpensive “Smartpads (Wacom’s term) or high-end hardware with built-in touchscreen and stylus “Tablet displays”.If you’re referring simply to USB drawing tablets, what Wacom calls Pen Tablets, the answer is yes, you need a computer, if only to see (on the monitor) what you are drawing. The drawing tablets are considerably cheaper than anything else but the Smartpads and their ilk, plus you can work in any application the computer can handle. What software do you want to use? That’s going to make a big difference. Vector? Raster? Open-source? Free?

How can I fix the "an error has occurred. Please try again later" message I receive when I try to connect to YouTube (process com.google.android.youtube)?

Here are some I came across little Googling,1. Try to get rid of cookies     Here's how to do it, from Google Groups     a. Go to "YOU TUBE" site,      b. Click "TOOLS",      c. Click "DEVELOPER TOOLS",      d. Click "CACHE",      e. Click "CLEAR COOKIES FOR DOMAIN"      f. Click "YES",      g. Close BOTH windows. 2. Give a try with another profile3. Verify if it's an issue with rooted device4. You might need to use good process and cache cleaner software which will remove all junk files in the memory (I use Clean Master on Google play store )Most people on above mentioned forum seem to have solved this issue just by clearing out cookies.Hope this helps!

What's an OEM unlock in Android?

Despite what you've been told, rest assured that an OEM unlock will not, in and of itself, cause damage to your device. If you go to Settings>About Phone & tap Build Number 7 times (assuming you are running Android 5.0 or later), a hidden menu called Developer Options will appear. In this menu, you will find (unless the manufacturer blocks it) an option called OEM UNLOCKING. Enabling this feature makes absolutely no change at all to your device, except for giving you the option to manually unlock your bootloader. To reiterate, this does not unlock your bootloader, but allows you to manually unlock it via a tethered command prompt if you so choose. So, let's say you enabled OEM UNLOCKING and then manually unlocked your bootloader using a tethered fastboot mode command line. (I'll skip over the actual procedure, which differs from device to device. ) So now that your bootloader is unlocked, what changes? Well as far as your Android OS goes, nothing changes. Unlocking the bootloader removes a layer of protection which allows your /boot, /recovery, /system, /modem & other partitions to be flashed. This is not rooting and not the same as rooting. Therefore, an unlocked bootloader does not alter your /system partition or your Android OS directly, as others have erroneously stated. But, you can now flash your device with a custom recovery which will allow you to install a custom ROM, a custom kernel, or flash a root script to your stock Android OS, among many other things. Bootloader unlocking & rooting are two separate & distinct procedures and the two are not dependent on one another. In other words you can fully root a device with a locked bootloader, just as you can have an unlocked bootloader and have a non-rooted device. Of course, to have full customization options, rooting and bootloader unlocking are preferred. As far as your warranty goes, you can void it without unlocking the bootloader. Again, you can achieve full root without OEM UNLOCKING, which can void your warranty. Just as a bootloader can be unlocked, it can be relocked. Same with rooting. It can be removed as well. Most devices which have been modified and/or OEM unlocked can be restored to stock factory condition, with no trace that any modifications were ever made. I've done this very thing to a number of my own devices whenever a warranty needed to be used.

Why do we call the iPad or HP Slate "tablets"?

The term "pad" for a portable computing device not unlike the iPad was first used by Isaac Asimov (the Calculator Pad from Foundation, 1961) which was the inspiration for the News Pad in the film 1965 film 2001: A Space Odyssey. In 1966, Star Trek had electronic clip-board devices which evolved into the PADD (Personal Access Data Display) devices of Star Trek: the Next Generation  which look astonishing like modern tablets. In 1994, the EU had a project to develop a media consumption device called the OMI-NewsPAD (named after Clarke's fictional device). In 1999, Intel introduced a touch-screen tablet originally called the "WebPAD", but later renamed the "Intel Web Tablet". Microsoft subsequently set standards based on partner Intel's product called the "Microsoft Tablet PC" specification - which firmly cemented the name "tablet" with a portable computer with a touch-screen in the popular press and Windows user vernacular. Why "tablet" instead of "pad"? Namely because "tablet" has a connotation of heft and durability (think stone tablets). The Microsoft Tablet PCs were quite heavy, bulky, and expensive in comparison to modern tablets, and they often incorporated mechanical components that were apt to break, so the connotation was important to attest to the durability and utility of the devices.

IPad2 versus other Tablets?

I recently bought an Ipad 2. I love it. It is better than any android tablet because:
1. Ipad has over 30,000+ apps. Androids have much less.
2. Much better battery life than any other tablet.
3. If you really wanted to get around such obstacles as the lack of Adobe Flashplayer, you can jail- break it very easily.

If it means anything, I am a windows person who loathes apple, but I love the Ipad2

The main things that Apple doesn't allow is Adobe Flash player and free apps off the internet. Unless you jail break it (which is very easy), you can only get apps from the app store. Jail-breaking is easily done by going to www.jailbreakme.com on your Ipad and following simple steps.
