Scared Of Love And Bonding

I'm going to be a dad soon and I'm scared? Any advice?

My husband and I had our son when he was 16 and I was 18. It was very hard on both of us as he had to get serious about work and I was in my final year of school. It was completely unplanned, but you just make things work, and as long as you work at it things will work out. :)

It is natural for men to feel they need to provide for their family. All men experience that pressure at some stage, but you sound like a FANTASTIC bloke who loves and cares for your unborn child and girlfriend and you are doing the right thing by stepping up to that responsibility and taking it all on board.

We all fail our own expectations in life and fail others too. It's human nature and we can only do our best. Bonding with your child rarely comes naturally at first. When my son (who is now two) was first born I felt so lost despite all the support I had from every one. I'd never had a new born fully depend on me for it's every single need. When I first help my son I was like, "Ugh! Get it off me." He all slimey and blue and I was exhausted after 18 hours of labour. :) Babies are like ALL people and relationships. You have to get to know them a bit before you can bond with them. :)

My husband didn't really start to bond with our son until he was about 6 months old and even then it was only a very small amount. Men tend to find it easier to relate to children/toddlers/babies when they become more responsive to their attempts. So at around 1-2 years you'll probably feel closer to your child then before. Sometimes it's difficult to enjoy being with someone when they poo on your leg and vomit in your face. :)

The fact that you're so concerned shows that you are going to be a wonderful dad!! You'll be fine:)

How to make my cat love me?

LOL i was in a situation like this before. now my pets love me and let me pick them up and hold them, etc. okay, first if the cats doesn't let you touch him/her just stand/sit around it for awhile. food all so helps :) The cat is doing this because it feels threatened and scarred. (i mean wouldn't you be?) also TALK to it. In a very pleasant voice.Let it get used to you and your voice so he/she gets used to you! and when you do go in to touch it don't make any sudden moves.. gently reach in and pet ON THE HEAD! do this until your cat gets used to you. Pay much attention to it and play with it. YOUR CAT SHOULD LOVE YOU AFTER THIS!<333

Bi-curious but scared, help?

well im a 17 year old male and i recently discovered im at least bi-curious. it started from watching gay porn movies just because and it has escalated quite rapidly now. when i masturbate i would often use a pen to you know...explore. but i have stopped that because im scared im discovering myself to be bi sexual or even gay. i know im attracted to girls 100% but i keep fantasizing about guys and me doing sexual acts to guys or receiving sexual acts and its scarring me because i dont know if im gay and if i am then im scarred of being gay and what others will think.

ecery day i think of guys more and more and i cant help but wonder what sex with another man actually feels like. i keep telling myself that i want to at least try hooking up with another guy but im scarred because what if i dont like it? then it would be embarrassing but also im scarred because if i do like it then i have to deal with being bi-sexual and i dont think im ready for that. what should i do im verr confused?

My hedgehog is scared of me...?

You need to give your new pet time to adjust. He is probably just very scared. Three days is definately not enough time to bond with your new pet. When I got my first hedgehog, It took me a few weeks to get him to trust me, and during this time I carried him EVERYWHERE with me in a bonding pouch. If you let him sleep with a soft article of your clothing (sock, tshirt, whatever) he will adjust to your scent much faster and learn to know you.
Give him time to bond with you, don't just expect him to love you right away. It could take weeks, or even a few months before he fully trusts your touch.
As far as the mealworms go, try putting them in his food bowl, this is what i had to do the first time my boy had mealworms. Now he eats them out of my hand. He also enjoys digging through the bowl that the mealworms come in, to find the perfect one.
Try giving your hedgie a small piece of cooked chicken, mine LOVES it!

Are you afraid of bonding with other people? Why?

Yes. Because I am really insecure about my personality.Think about a girl who is insecure about her appearance. She thinks she's fat, she doesn't like her thighs , she doesn't like her hair, she doesn't like her face.I’m the same, but instead, very insecure about my personality.I often think about how I wish I was funnier, more interesting, more this, more that.I’m afraid that people will not like me and leave me, or that they will talk about how boring I am behind my back.Ah… boring. This word. I hate this word the most.I feel like if I am “ugly”, I could be beautiful with my personality. But I am never satisfied with it. So I never let people in, cause I think they are not gonna be satisfied with it as well.

Why does my hamster suddenly get scared?

I just got a new syrian hamster. I have just started taming her and bonding with her, and its going ok (she hasnt bitten me) but sometimes she gets really scared of me and other times she is completely fine.

For example, she was awake and in her wheel so i offered her a piece of food, she sniffed my fingers, took the food and sat down and ate it right infront of me. A few minutes later i offer her another, she takes it but instead runs away and hides in her bed.

Am i doing something wrong? Please help!

Did you love your second child as much as your first?

Your first child is always special! Your son was born first, so that does make him different. You only had one child to love and you made him your everything. I have a son who will be 3 soon and a daughter who just turned one. I love them both, but I know my son probably gets more spoiled. Not because their is more love for him, but because I feel bad that I took away "our" time. I had to spend time with my daughter, feed her, love her, play with her, and make her feel special too. This of course took time away from my son. I tried to include him in everything I did, from diaper changes to bath time. He did not like his sister at first, he acted like she was a stranger ready to leave the house at any moment! He still fights with her and ignores her a lot, but their are times when they play and laugh and I smile knowing I love them both. But your first child will always be special to you because you have a bond that has been solid since he was first born. Your second you will love just as much, but their might not ever be the bond that you have with your first child!!! I think as long as you try to include your son in as much as you can with the second child, you should be alright. But always make time for you and him to have your own "special" time.
