Screen Goes Crazy After Overclock Help .

Wierd GPU screen glitches after overclocking?

So I overclocked my GTX 960 two days ago. I added 150 MHz to the base clock and 100 to the memory clock. It was the OC Windforce edition from gigabyte. Anyways, the night I overclocked the gpu it ran fine with no glitches on valley benchmark, I even pushed the MHz higher that night and still nothing really happened, it looked fine. It looked fine on rocket league too. Now today when I started to play Dirty Bomb, or Americas Army, these really bad screen glitches appear the whole length of the bottom 1/5 of the screen. I figured it was because of my overclock I did, so I set everything back to default. However, the screen tearing is still the same. This happens only in games and it seems only intensive games too. Rocket league is a pretty intense game tho. Is this normal when overclocking too much? I looked online but didn't find anything so I just don't know. Also, if it is part of the overclock, can I ever fix this? Because it seems like after setting it to default didn't help. Any help would be much appreciated!

Pc crashes, black screen wont turn off?

So after months of this happening i got a new psu and it seemed like it got fixed but it started happening again. The pc will run fine then just go black screen and wont turn off. The temps seem fine and theres no overclocking. Gpu is reletivly new only a few years old maybe 2 and the cpu, motherboard, and ram are only a few months old.

How do I test PC screen (monitor) overclock stability?

Unsure about the specifics of the question. If you mean MONITOR (i.e. Screen), use this site to check for dropped frames : Blur Busters UFO Motion Tests. Also, the general consensus on overclocking monitors is that in most cases, it is VERY risky, and significantly reduces hardware life for small gains of performance. Most monitors at 60hz can go from 60hz to 63hz. You’re not going to go from 60hz to 120hz.If you mean CPU overclock, use CPU-Z to monitor temperatures, and Prime95 to actually benchmark/stress. When you open Prime95, just select the “Torture Test” mode. Closely monitor temps, and ensure they don’t go excessively high. If you’re unsure about how hot your CPU can operate at, below 70 Celsius is essential for most CPUs. Past this range, the CPU will start thermal throttling. Around 90 Celsius, for most CPUs, the computer will shut down. All CPUs have their own manufacturer specs, so a quick google search with your Processor name would yield specific temp ranges. If you mean GPU overclock, just run Unigine Valley for 20 minutes and monitor temps using something like Rivatuner. Most GPU overclocks don’t make huge differences, and in most cases reduce the life of hardware for small gains, that plateau pretty quickly.

Can I overclock a screen with double of its default refresh rate?

Very very dangerous to do so. Many people only go 2–3Hz above, not more. It is theoretically possible however. The thing is, there is almost no chance of it working. LED screens are built for certain refresh rates, and going above that is already pushing it. So, unless you can definitely buy a new monitor later.

When starting up Sims 3 Screen goes black?

When I launch my sims 3, it doesn't even get to the start up screen it just goes black and the cursor is loading. I have to press alt, ctrl, delete and start up the task manager, and it says Sims 3 isn't responding. I went on canyourunit.com and it says my computer can run sims 3 and sims 3 ambitions. PLEASE HELP!!

Disk boot failure after overclock?

Sounds to me like your overclock is a bit unstable. Try increasing the cpu voltage and see where that gets you.

How do we overclock Android without root?

YES YOU CAN..!!!!!!!!!Go to developer options in settingsActivate itScroll below to find Hardware Accelerated Rated RenderingActivate "FORCE GPU RENDERING"Activate  "FORCE 4x  MSAA"YOU ARE DONE.....NOTE 1 : You may find "FORCE GPU RENDERING" and "FORCE 4x  MSAA" without having go to Hardware Accelerated Rated Rendering...NOTE 2 : If you can't find developer options do this :Open Settings> About> Software Information> More. Then tap “Build number” seven times to enable Developer options. ...Go back to Settings menu and now you'll be able to see “Developer options” there. These Screenshots are from Honor 4xPlease Upvote if it Helps......!!!!!

Why does my computer randomly go to a black screen but fans are still running? My CPU and GPU are overclocked and temps average 29c and 32c respectively. My computer does not get slow before it goes to black screen.

Does the computer is stable without overclocking…Trying to overclock a computer that is not stable generally does not make it stable. Now, if you insist on overclocking, you go by small step.Their is voltage to adjust on Memory and likely CPU. (and you do it at your own risk). If you can find somebody that have done it for your particular motherboard/CPU combo… this might help you a lot. It might tell you what is possible. If you try to do it with an “Automatic Wizard”… try to see if you can reduce the aggressiveness of the Wizard. Maybe, you can use the recommendation of the Wizard and shave 100mhz from it.A screen that turn black generally means: The CPU crash or the GPU crash. It can be almost anything: The Power Supply might be too small, not enough voltage on Memory or CPU or GPU. You may be unlucky and your CPU might not overclock well. You may have a motherboard or Memory module that does not overclock well… Etc.

Overclocking i7 930 - Possible to take full advantage of 1866 RAM?

Hey, I'm an OC amateur. I got new RAM lately (16gb rated at 1866). To get my memory speeds that high in the BIOS (in addition to my current OC to 4.0Ghz), I had to increase the Memory Multiplier to 10x and the Uncore multiplier to 20x. Doing this though made it so I had to increase my QPI/VTT voltages a lot (to 1.45v, I was warned not to go past 1.4v), which left my system usable still but ultimately unstable.

Otherwise I can leave my memory multi at 8x and my Uncore at 16x, which is perfectly stable at a low QPI/VTT (1.35v), but then my RAM is only running at 1660Mhz. I'd rather have my RAM overclocked than underclocked. Does anyone have tips on what settings I should be trying to fiddle with so I can get a stable system in addition to OCing my RAM? Or should I forget about speed at this point and worry more about timings? In which case...what's the best way to fiddle with the timings and testing them out to make sure they're stable?

I'm going to be testing in the mean time. I assume QPI/VTT has to be pretty high to support 1900Mhz+ in any circumstance? Is it only a heat issue? Or should I not take my VTT to any more than 1.45v if I have the temperature to spare?

EDIT: I discovered this thread - http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?2079...

It looks like I can put it to 1.6v. I suppose I'll give it a shot.
