Actually, you can do both. On searching: Several receivers support the ability to scan for favorite songs and artists. When those are found, it can alert you of the station it is playing on. Simply push the button and listen to that particular song. On skipping: Because Sirius XM is broadcast, you can't simply skip to the next song, but many receivers will buffer around an hour of music. If you like a particular channel, you can pause it and come back an hour later and skip songs you don't like. This isn't really the same experience as pandora.com or radiostations.com, but it is *technically possible* to skip songs.

One thing that SXM fails to realize, or doesn't want you to think about is….Their costs are “fixed”. You bought your own equipment, typically when you bought your vehicle. Many times they will offer you a six month or a year trial, with an automatic continuation at the end of the trial.When I bought my first car with SXM installed, I didn't subscribe. But, the car dealer or manufacturer apparently notifies SXM of your name and address. I received several “offers” for 5 months for $25. After ignoring several of these, I finally signed up for the trial. I set an appointment in my phone for a couple of weeks before the end of this trial. I then called SXM to advise that I wanted to cancel the trial and didn't want to auto renew. They would always transfer me to someone else to convince me to stay. After offering plans from $19.99 to $29.95/month, I advised that I would only stay if they continued the rate I had been paying, since it wasn't cost effective for me to pay the insanely rate since I had three cars and only one with SXM.I have renewed this way for a few years now. They have always renewed at the lower rate for me.Whether or not I subscribe, their costs are the same. Any monies they get from me, is essentially “free” money for them. Realistically, I only listen to a couple of SXM channels, and only when I am in the car with SXM installed.

If you're talking radio-wise, an XM Radio is just the basic radio that receives basic channels from channel 0 to 247. A Sirius XM radio with the SiriusXM logo is the newer version radio witch is a 2.0 radio which receives more channels than what you can get with the basic XM radio. The newer 2.0 SiriusXM radio for example like the SiriusXM Lynx, SiriusXM Edge or the SiriusXM Onyx Plus radio receives more exclusive channels like Poptropolis on Channel 300, And more exclusive channels that no other basic XM or Sirius radio cant get. If you want more bang for your buck I would suggest getting the XM edge or the Sirius XM Onyx Plus with those radios you get more features and more channels and it's worth your money. And to receive those exclusive channels it also depends on what subscription package you are also paying for as well. For example with the All Access package you get every single channel SiriusXM has to offer including the newer exclusive channels like Poptropolis, Rock Bar, SiriusXM Turbo and more. So yes there is a difference between XM and SiriusXM Radios and it service. I hope this helps.

A friend of mine back home had a xm radio or sirius radio reciever in his truck, and it did not have any annoying antenna wire. the only wire protruding from the receiver was the power wire that connects to the ciggarette lighter. The receiver had the suction cup to the front windshield and im guessing the antenna was located in the suction cup. Where or what model can I find this satellite radio receiver???? And i would ask my friend for the model but he lives thousand and thousands of miles away from me and i dont have his phone number. Thanks

How can I find a song that played on Sirius XM earlier?
Today in the gym, they had Sirius XM going, I'm pretty sure it was the channel called electric area. I know it was some sort of house/electronic channel. But they had a song on and i loved it, but i don't know how to find it, and i can't remember any of the lyrics from it. Is there a place I can find a track list of what was played today? It was at around 3:15-3:30 when i heard it. I'm pretty sure the song after it was a remix of Kanye West's song Heartless. On electric area, Electric Area Top 20 Electro, would have been playing at the time. so if anyone could find that track list out, that would definitely help. Thanks in advance!
