Searching For A New Amp

Should I buy a new guitar or a new amplifier?

I use a Blackstar 5 watt all tube amplifier.I use this amp for jazz gigs, blues and rock.5 watts isn't much, some may say. Here is my reasoning:Everyone knows that when playing rock or blues, a tube amplifier sounds best when it is cranked up. That is when it really starts to sing. You just can't do this with a Marshall stack without risking ear damage. You sure can't practise like this. But my 5 watter sounds sweet. On the gig I just mike it up. There is a line out option but I like the sound coming off the speaker. As for quality; always buy the best you can afford. As a youngster I wanted big amps but I didn't have much money. I sacrificed quality for power and wound up with a crummy sound.Same goes for the guitar but mass production has brought the cost of pro guitars way, way down. In the 70s only a pro could afford pro gear. The alternatives were sometimes not very good; guitars with actions you could drive under, amps that should have been used for: Number 6 your meal is ready. So, if you can afford it, buy both. But always buy quality.

What does ⚡AMP mean on a Google search?

When you see AMP below any link, that page is an Accelerated Mobile Page. Google has built a new framework called AMP HTML. It allows mobile websites to load almost instantaneously.Whenever you search anything on your mobile device you get the results in seconds. But the websites in those links are heavy with ads, tons of added script and lots of other things that would work better on a desktop. On a mobile you’re just looking for the info. AMP project encourages people to use it in their websites. This allows the user to visit websites quickly as the page adapts to the mobile environment by stripping away the noise. For more info read the official announcement[1] and the guidelines [2]Footnotes[1] Introducing the Accelerated Mobile Pages Project, for a faster, open mobile web[2] Google Search guidelines for AMP pages

Why did my inline fuse blow for my amp?

Where did you get your fuse? If that is the fuse designed for your amp, you have some problems with the amp. If the fuse was designed for a different amp, maybe not as powerful, you may need to use a different fuse (# amp) You have to look at the amp manual and find what fuse should go with their amp.

The same applies for the wiring. You need to check the amp manual to see what gauge wiring they recommend for their amp.
If you replace the fuse and the amp will blow it again, it's time to take it to the shop.

Don't play with electrical systems as even a tiny mistake, like wearing a wedding band, a watch, or a bracelet could cause a short that will make all wires crisp and black in 1 second flat, and you can easily set the car on fire. If you create a short with a gold wedding band, it gets red hot in 1/10 of a second and burns everything to the bone.

2400 watts is a lot of power. So you are supplying the amp with a lot of energy. Even tiny mistake can cause a lot of damage before your 60-amp fuse will blow to stop the flow of electricity (60-amp is an example. I don't know what fuse you have)

What do you think of Orange guitar amplifiers?

When I was looking for a new amp, Orange was high on my list. Many musicians that I enjoy have used them; Stevie Wonder and Peter Green. I think you can see them stacked in the background of when Stevie got his funk on Sesame Street.Their amps are far from one trick ponies. Funk to blues are all in their wheel house. They aren’t for beginners, at least not the models I was considering.Yes they have a look to them that says 1970s which I love. That orange color is like a GTO Judge with HP to match.I did end up going with a Vox AC30. Price point was he big deciding factor, not to mention more of my inspirations play Vox; George Harrison, Phil Keaggy, The Edge, Brian May.

I'm looking for a new guitar. I'm a student so I'm on quite a tight budget. Which one would you suggest?

I've been through this. So…Don't think much. Find someone who knows or plays a guitar. Take him/her to a shop. 3–4 k that should be your budget. And pick a guitar that attracts you most in that range. Have it checked if all measurements are in place. Buy it. Find a teacher and srart playing. In case you don't know anyone. Go straight to the shop. The shopkeeper will help you out picking a good guitar. And yes, don't forget to buy a bag and a capo, and a set of new strings, and few picks from 0.4 to 0.8 mm.Thats all you need. Download a guitar tuner in your mobile. Tune everytime you play. And play only with the metronome.

Reparing MTX 81000d amp questions?

you can find these screws on ebay if you do a little searching.i just bought some replacement screws for a couple of old fosgate amps on (ebay/car audio) then (mtx 8100 amplifier replacement screws) or contact mtx corp.

HELP this newbie build a car audio system please...?

so basically you have 2 subwoofers and that's it right?
OK start there find an amp that is compatible with your speakers based on wattage and ohms required.Shop around and go out and try to acually hear stuff and talk to ppl.If you're limited on money you can still go out and window shop to get familar with brands and reputation and such then take that knowledge and pick up used stuff just be careful to make sure it works before you buy it.Now,with all that bass you're gona need to ugrade your door and rear deck speakers.which means a second amp cuz i don't think a 5 channel is gonna push those 12's all that well.Find out what size speakers you have and compare that to what's available as far as wattage goes you might need to make bigger holes cuz nobody seems to make small speakers that take alot of power.I would suggest 6 by 9's in the rear with 6.5 inch round in the door.Finding componet speakers that have seperate tweeters for the door would be nice too but not necassary.Look for speakers with around 75- 100 watts RMS power handling. That should give you plenty of loud.BTW you DO wanna buy your speakers new. Also on the wattage you can get higher than what I mentioned in a 6by 9 but it'll be hard to find in the 6.5's now again find your amp.You need a 4 channel preferable with seperate output controls for front and rear so you can bump up those 6by9's.Now when you're done spending all that money you still need a head unit, again if money is an issue you can hack all this stuff into the actory stereo and it'll sound allright but if you really want clear sound find a unit with 3 sets of preouts so you have less distortion going into your amps.Again go out and actualy listen to diffent products and get what sounds good to you cuz different ppl have different tastes, just try to stick with name brands and stay way from the cheesy stuff.Pioneer, kenwood, and rockford fosgate have excellent products at a good price.Don't forget all the cables conectors and various other crap and remember to disconect the groud on you battery before doing ant wiring on your car.

Good luck and have fun

Solution to GE microwave blowing fuse (20 amps) after clicking start?

That's nothing new.
The HV-Diode is blown and needs to be replaced, at that point the booster capacitor should be replaced too, I've seen capacitors go bad as well.

Some Models have capacitors with an integrated diode, this way you have no other choice than replacing both.

Some Models had a design flaw where the capacitor was too big and blew every 2 years, a different one with 10% less capacity solved the problem for good and it didn't make much difference in cooking time, 10-15 seconds perhaps.

A bad door switch would do that too, but the short that blows the fuse would occur then when the door is opened, which isn't the case here.
