I'm scared for highschool?

I start highschool in 2 weeks & I'm scared that for being a freshman i'll get bullied. i haven't been bullied in the past. I had a lot of friends at my old school basically the whole class but that was middle school. I'm also very shy. please help. I don't know how to calm myself down or what to expect. I shadowed at the school that I'm going too, & they were all really nice to me except for this girl who looked like she was maybe a junior or senior and looked at me and started laughing & said something to the people who she was sitting by, & I'm scared since Im a freshman, that it'll happen everyday there. please help me. what can i do?

Scared!! First day of high school!!?

DON'T WORRY, you'll be fine ! Trust me. For being on the bus alone just sit next to someone who looks really friendly and say hi and make friends with them and they can be your bus buddy, on walking alone, just go straight to your locker, and get what you need then go to class, and on orientation day, yes try your best to memorize where ALL your classes are, because if you ask one of the older kids they'll probably tell you the wrong directions (unless their nice, this happened to me haha), an if you don't know anyone in your class just talk to the person next to you, and be super nice! It's always nice making new friends (:
As for lunch, on orientation day pick a place with your friends on where you want to meet up, such as the bathroom or vending machine! Also, if most people are jerks just be nice trust me, it'll keep you out of drama and you might even make friends with them! Just remember: Don't worry, it's only 4 years of your life, and by the 2nd week of school you'll be used to the place and everything will be fine, now go and enjoy the rest of your summer!

I'm nervous and scared about going to my first college orientation.?

Soon I will be going to my college orientation and I am very nervous and scared. I do not know anyone. I do not know what to expect. I'm not sure if the students are going to be nice and accepting. What should I do?

First day of college and I'm nervous?

Tomorrow is the first day of college (I'm a freshman) and I'm really nervous because I don't have many friends, I'm afraid I might get lost, i don't know what to expect on the first day, I might not have anyone to sit next to and don't want to sit alone, and also I'm insecure about my height since everyone seemed tall when I went to the college I'm going to on a field trip (I'm 5'8 and a 17 year old guy, turning 18 in 2 months but I feel short compared to them). Help me please cheer me up :(

Im starting Middle School soon, and I'm really scared. :(?

That is so funny!! I'm going into middle school too this year. I am scared to but I was thinking about something.... And then I said... Oh yeah!! I was thinking that it's just a bigger school, with two grades ahead of you.... Think about it. When you were in kindergarten in elementary school, you had FIVE grades ahead of you... In middle school, you only have two!! My sister who got out of middle school two years ago were giving me useful tips and I will share them with you. But first, I will answer your questions.
You asked:

Q. What if I get lost?
A. Your school probably has an orientation before school starts where you can look around, and find your classes. If not or on one of the first days of school you get lost, there will be teachers you can ask and they will help ypu. Don't feel embarassed. You can also ask someone to help you with opening or finding your locker. Tip: NEVER EVER SHARE YOUR LOCKER COMINATION WITH ANYBODY EVEN YOUR BEST FRIEND!!! And don't bring anything valuble to school.

Q.What happens if I'm lat to every class?
A. Chances are.... you wont be laste to every class. If you are late to some classes, the teachers wont get mad at you cbecause they understand it's a new school for you. So son't worry about that.

Q.How should I dress?
A. Try to dress preppy if you know what I mean because preppy people always become popular. I picked out a shirt from Abercrombie and pants from Aeropastle. Just remember not to throw out your whole wardrobe for middle school! Also don't cover your face with makeup. If you want to wear any makeup, just wear foundation and a clear or light pink lip gloss, that's all a girl needs for that age.

Q. What happens if I have an awqward moment?
A. Im not actually sure what that means but I think you mean like pee in your pants or something. Just remember to go to the bathroom at least once a day and dont be scared a bully will be in there.

Tip: Stand with your head up tall and feel self confident!

What happened on your first day at IIT?

Let me describe my initial days here at IIT Delhi.I was alloted Shivalik Hostel which is the oldest hostel at IITD. My reporting was on 18th July (which is also my birthday, lol). I had already read on quora about the quality of rooms so didn't expect much. The room was a single sized one (shared by two people) and had two beds, an almirah, a table and two chairs. I arrived at the hostel at around 11am, put down my bags, bought essentials like mattress, pillow, bucket etc. Also met my roommate that day and went home at around 2/3pm (I live in Delhi). My next three days were orientation and we were told a lot about the college and campus. Also explored a few places with some friends I made in the Hostel. The best part is the diversity here, I have friends from all corners of India now. The orientation included department introduction, orientation of all clubs, campus tour etc. We were also alloted a mentor, (a mentor has around 4-6 mentees) to whom we are supposed to ask any doubts we have during the first year. Also tried some sports and gym. The weather during those days was really nice so it felt wonderful to explore the campus. My classes started from 23rd july. I woke up at 6.30am, bathed, had breakfast and went to the lecture hall (which is around 1km from my hostels). It was an interesting class and later that day we had ED lecture which was really boring and chemistry lab (which is newly constructed and is really a state of art) which was over early as it was just an introduction. At the end of first week, I had attended chemistry, maths (linear algebra), ed lab and product realization (which we call ‘mazdoori’) as well. It was really an interesting experience, some classes being boring and some being exciting but the change in level of education from school to college was visible in each.Regarding mess food, initally it was above my expectation (as I had read a lot of bad things about mess food on Quora) but I heard from seniors that its quality will decrease exponentially throughout the year and after 1 month, I can say that it is quite true. The food is decent but worse than how it was in the first month.

I didn't meet anyone at college orientation. Does this mean I won't make friends in college?

I just finished my first year. At my university there were two major events: an introduction week for the entire university and a freshman weekend for my program only.Like many other students, I skipped the intro week, it just wasn't worth it. I went to the freshman weekend and had a great time, but afterwards I knew that I wouldn't want to spend time with any of the people I had met. Like you, I felt alone and was afraid I would never make any friends in college. Now, one year later, I have better friends then I ever could have imagined. I met my two best friends during the first lecture and have spent almost every day with them since. Over the course of the year, I got to know many other awesome people.Don't give up yet. You will make friends, maybe tomorrow, maybe in a few weeks. There are others out there just like you, who are hoping to find someone as well. Just don't forget: Always be yourself or the wrong people will start to like you :)
